Posting in this thread since nobody else has yet-- HA!!
Okay, just wondering-- how do you rate the different Batman movies that you've seen? Here's how they stack up in my opinion, from best to worst (and please note that this is only my opinion, and might contain major spoilers, so don't kill me):
Best-- "The Dark Knight" (Even though I have certain criticisms of the film.)
"Batman: The Movie" (Yes, the Adam West one. It's good fun when approached with the right attitude.)
"Batman Begins" (Gordon saves the day basically!! YEAH!!! Although certain things in the plot makes my eyebrows go all funky...)
"Batman" (1989) (All I can say is, "You're kidding. The JOKER is the guy who killed Bruce Wayne's parents??? And I thought I was bad at coming up with ridiculous coincidences in my stories." Plus, I don't like Tim Burton as a director... though it could be worse.)
"Batman Returns" (Catwoman's outfit + Tim Burton-ness = O_o; )
"Batman Forever" (Jim Carrey as the Riddler. 'Nuff said.)
Worst-- "Batman and Robin" (Ugh. No. How many characters weren't completely mangled beyond recognition in this film?)
And I haven't seen any of the animated movies so I can't really comment on them. 3nodding

The man broke new ground cinematically, with his Batman film, since all the easy-access non-comic reference anyone had before that was Adam West or cartoons based on same.

Worst-- "Batman and Robin" (Ugh. No. How many characters weren't completely mangled beyond recognition in this film?) I agree with this list as far as the order goes, but I have different reasons for a couple of them. I like Tim Burton personally, but he didn't do that great of a job in Batman Returns ( I feel he did a great job with Batman, though; you're right about what you said about Joker being the killer, however ). Tommy Lee Jones didn't do that much better of a job as Two-Face than Jim carrey did as Riddler, so I have more problems with Batman Forever than you do. And finally, as for the final movie you put in your list, the one that I will refrain from naming because it doesn't deserve the name of Batman, you were spot-on in your assessment. I watched it twice: once because I hadn't seen it before, and a second because I simply couldn't believe that it was that terrible. But yes, it REALLY WAS that terrible.

I won't even let my children watch that last movie. I want them to grow up with some kind of taste. They're seen the Adam West movie at least once when it was on TV, though I don't think they saw it from the beginning. It's the only one I'd rate PG.

The Adam West Batman was supposed to be a kid's show anyways, so of course it would be okay for them to watch.

Actually, I gotta admit, I liked the Burton Batman movies. Yes, they're a little ridiculous, slightly out of character, filled with dialogue that makes you wanna scrunch your eyebrows, and generally kinda crap from a cinematic quality angle, but like the other older ones, they have to be approached with the correct attitude. If you go in expecting a crappy movie that's enjoyable in an anything but intellectual way, they can be very fun to watch. 3nodding
