I don't know if anyone else has gone, but there are a number of great double reed day programs around the United States (maybe outside as well, but I don't know of the programs). I would strongly recommend that everyone go - they are really a blast.
There is one at the University of New Hampshire this Saturday. I believe registration is closed, but if anyone would like to go contact me. I'm friends with the person running it and might be able to get you in.
There's also a Double Reed Day at the California State University coming up in Febuary: http://zimmer.csufresno.edu/~larryg/drday.html
New York University had a Double Reed Day in October. If you are in that area, you could consider checking it out next year: http://steinhardt.nyu.edu/conference/doublereedday
If you know of any other double reed days in the area, or have had any experiences at them, feel free to post!

Hello! My university will be hosting our annual Double Reed Day as well!
James Madison University is in Virginia, located off of interstate 81. Not a lot of info up right now, but it will get there soon! http://orgs.jmu.edu/doublereed/JMU DRC-Double Reed Day.html

I just got back from a day at the UNH Double Reed day. It was really truly amazing. The master class was really informative. And, to top it off, tonight I got to go to a concert by the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
It was pretty much a perfect day.
