Bio:
Born september 18th 1980. Became interested in music from an early age,
but was always drawn to the stranger darker aspects of music (as well
as life). My fate was sealed when I was about 13 and my older brother Marc
gave me a tape of a local band that some of his friends were in. The
album was called Principle of Evil Made Flesh. I think you know the band.
On the other side of the tape was the Emperor/Enslaved split EP. Instantly
I knew I'd found the dark atmosphere in these two albums that I'd been
looking for in music. I began seeking out more black metal and working
parts out on the keyboard. At 15 I got my first guitar and starting trying
to figure out riffs etc. Occasionally I would get some pointers from a
guy that lived up the road called Paul Allender. It was also around this
time in my life that I starting becoming interested in Satanism and Chaos
Magick, which was later to have a profound effect on the way my life went.
At 19 I decided to start taking guitar playing seriously which meant turning
down an offer to study psychology at university (kids, this is not advised -
stay in school). I was accepted onto the degree course at the Guitar
Institute in London and moved down there in 2001.
I think it was the death of my brother in the following year that was to
have the greatest influence on me. It made me realise how unpredictable life
is, and therefore the importance blind determination with regard to your ambitions. When I returned to Colchester, I formed my own band "End of Invention", in which I do guitar and vocals. I started teaching at Colchester Institute, and studying Orchestration/composition in my own time (I'm still available for private lessons incidently, but I doubt you could afford me). Then last year I received a phone call during a lesson saying that Dave was unavailable for the next Cradle tour, and asking if I could play bass.

Music: Enslaved, Emperor, Metallica, Devil Doll, Mahler, Wagner, Astral Projection,
Shostakovich, Rakhmaninov, Bach, John Williams, Pantera, Danny Elfman, Grieg, Marduk, Falkenbach, Symphony X.
Food/Drink: The finest Cognac, Jaegermeister, meat and Quails eggs. Mixed together in a big jug.
Films: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Two Brothers. All kids films huh? Hang on then,
ok Excalibur, Ran, Stewie Griffin the Untold Story, Scum, obviously.
Dislikes: Computers, not ruling an Empire, my cats with their stupid furry faces.
People who think anagrams are funny. I hate them so much.
Hobbies: Military history, Magick, books by Nietzsche, Peter Carroll, Schopenhauer,
La Vey, etc.
