User Image The castle seemed quiet at the moment, Azunka could hardly recall a time when that happened before. Well, perhaps it had something to do with the fact she was wandering one of the more abandoned halls of the great castle. It was her past time she supposed, exploring the places that were mostly left untouched by the clan. It was difficult to ignore all the looks she got from passerbys, but it wasn't totally unexpected now that she was grown and could understand what they must have been thinking. With somewhat of a sigh, the undead zompire turned the flame-lit corner of a cordoor, wondering briefly if the torches continued to stay lit or if some unknown gargoyle went around keeping them aflame. It was an interesting thought to say the least.

However, anything was better than the cold, damp dungeon she hung out in most of the time; even if it was an abadonded hallway. With a flick of her tail the female zompire shifted course onto this strange hallway, curious as to where it led and if she may have found some other place to play. Perhaps she could bring Xin here if it was good enough, but he was mostly hanging out with that black cat now, Nyx. Of course Azunka couldn't be mad or jealous at that, at least he had found someone else to play with.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. This was indeed an interesting day for Saphire; she had began by pouncing Van Helsing, her somewhat self-proclaimed guardian, and ended up in this strange hallway. Of course, that's what she got for trying to track him after he had stopped her pounce and set her on the ground talking about something concerning hunting a certain being. She had followed him as far as this, when he suddenly vanished, obviously losing Saphire in the empty hall where he knew she would not get into much trouble.

With a shrug, this was what he usually did when she tried to follow him, she set about exploring the hallway. Her course wasn't going to be as a hunter anyways, no, she was going to be a warrior. If only she could grow out of her childish body. Her mindset was still pretty childish in Van Helsing's opinion she knew, but it was still what she wanted to do. It had been a long time since they had both been cursed, surely she had matured at least a little in her mind while those around her matured in body?

She sighed, knowing that if she wanted something to happen about her growing she would have to do it herself. A glint of metal caught her eye and she wandered over to a corner to inspect an old and somewhat rusted dagger. Yes, she thought, picking the dagger up and holding it proudly before her, she would become a warrior. She giggled and pranced about the hall, jumping on a railing and slashing at imaginary enemies in her course of play.

The days of the cursed zombie/vampire child usually held very little excitement, since she was mostly contained to herself or her parents. If not her family than emptiness was her companion, and a lonely mistress that was. Her light clawclicks resounded against the stone walls as Azunka continued to follow the winding trail, partially consumed by the sight of so many open doors and empty rooms. How many existed within the old castle anyway? It was interesting to think the clan was once hundreds in number, at least that what her father had told her. He was so old, but it made him very wise she believed. Her mother as well she assumed.

As she was led down to yet another turn of the hallway, a flash of movement caught her eye and her tattered wings shifted uneasily. It had been a glint of metal in the flame light, and that usually meant a warrior or hunter with guards or a weapon. Regular goyals were bad enough, but ones with weapons may have means of harming something that spooked them in the darkness. Azunka cringed at the thought, but did not shy away from meeting another just because of her appearance. In fact, she seemed nearly drawn to most others, perhaps that was just her mothers blood within her though; the vampire part that hungered for another's blood.

With deliberate calm the female stepped out into the fire light, the side of her body that held flesh and not bone exposed to the young goyal before her. "Is it a fun game? The one you're playing?" Azunka so loved to play games.

Sorry, had to help my grandparents figure out what was wrong with the tv

One, two, endless enemies falling to her blade as she protected the clan and those within the castle. She would become a great warrior; she would grow until she was more mature than Van Helsing, and then it would be her protecting him when lycans attacked the castle or they had to venture away from it. Slashing the blade again, she was so involved with her game that she did not notice the other goyal appear at the edge of the light.

"Wha-?" was all she got out after being startled by the sudden voice. Her arm was still swinging at an imaginary enemy as she turned her head to see who had addressed her. Her arm turned partially with her and the blade of the dagger clanged loudly as it hit the railing, the shock numbing her fingers and causing her to drop the blade over the edge of the railing. She hopped about, waving her fingers wildly for a moment before sticking them in her mouth and looking again to who had called out.

"Myesh," she said through her hand, "Itsh mwash..." Her green eyes continued to look at the other goyal for a moment before she scooted over to the railing and peered over the edge, her gossamer wings drooping as she realized the balcony she had been playfighting on had been higher up than she thought. A flight of stairs dropped away to her left, but she figured it would be rude to go chasing after the dagger without saying hello to the other goyal first. Her wings fluttered and she hopped over to stand and then bow to the goyal, removing her hand from her mouth to wave it in the bow. "Saphire! Soon to be warrior goyal, at your service!" she said, still in her play mode.

Oh dear, she hadn't meant to startle the young thing, well what she assumed to be young anyway. She had lost track of Aldric's cursed goyals and who they were, and she supposed the pixie wings might have been a dead giveaway, but it was possible this blue girl just had a mutation like some goyals did. It occured to Azunka that she might have been able to retreive the lost dagger, but alas her wings were nothing but tattered and flight was impossible for the teen. Much like her zombie father, who was unlikely to fly at all.

Still with the good side of her face toward the young one, Azunka smiled a gracious smile at the playful introduction, quickly catching onto the spirit of things. After all, Azunka enjoying playing along with nearly anything, especially when she was a child and had dragged Zaive in on her schemes as well. In one smooth movement Azunka swooped her good arm infront of her and placed it against her chest, bending at her back and going onto one knee. "Dear Saphire, I pray you heed the words of a wary traveler, for I have traveled long and wide to find a warrior with such skills as yours", the zompire smiled, to show she was merely playing along with the game.

"I am Azunka, princess of my father's kingdom. You see my land has befallen the curse of a vengeful God, turning my subjects into beings of despair and misery. I too, have not escaped his wrath", ever so slowly she turned her face to expose her skull, the hallow where an eye should be merely a glowing yellow orb. There was some truth in her 'play' story, sort of Azunka's way of finding out if Saphire was a cursed or not. "I seek to vanguish this great evil, but if you take up my cause we must first find your Excaliber. What say you, Saphire soon-to-be-warrior, will you accept my plight as your own so I may knight you to the court of my people?" Plus, it would be a way to get back her fallen dagger by calling it 'Excaliber', already the game consuming Azunka's mind.

Saphire spread her hands before her, exclaiming, "Alas, my fair Princess, my skills may not be all that you praise them to be, but I shall try my best to help alleviate this dreadful curse!" She let her slight surprise at the appearance of the other show on her face instead of hiding it, letting it flow along with the game. There had been stories about some half zombie goyals she had heard, but this was her first time meeting one of them. If indeed Princess Azunka was one of them, if not Saphire could only assume that she was a cursed as herself; in either case she thought they had similiar predicaments.

"For yet alas again!" she said, letting her arms and face drop and her wings flutter slightly before falling along her back in sadness as well, "I know too well of curses in these lands. If there might be something I could do to break even one of the dreadful things it would pleasure me greatly!" Her eyes came up sharply at the proclamation, her words ringing true for both in the game and out of it.

"Ah, yes! My mighty excalibur! I fear it has been lost to the great abyss of the dreaded..." she had to pause, trying to come up with a worthy monster, "Hydra!" It was the monster she had heard of the most, other than the creatures of the Sun god's curse, but she did not want to call Melaiina or any of them monsters. She looked over to the staircase, realizing that Azunka could not fly with the condition of her wings, "It has been filled with a great wind, and the only way down is to traverse the Cliff of the Lost."

The zompire grinned at this, it was so delightful to play games, and she hardly got to do it with Xin anymore. Much less anyone else. Still she was too into the game to ponder about that too much. "Well then, we must tranverse the cliff with all manner of haste! Excalibur awaits, and we must not allow fear to grip us." Indeed this was a fun game. Rising once again to her full height the zompire pointed to the stairwell and nodded. "Oh but dear warrior, knight of my realm, you must go first for I am no warrior and may not be able to protect us both."
