Right now I am making a necklace and earrings for New Years. I may be a few days late, and it may be made out of beads. But hey, it's a holiday thing right?

My next yarn based holiday project is a bunch of heart shaped stuff for Valentines day. I want to knit up some purses with heart patterns. Since I love to graphic knit and I am obsessed with hearts this will be my dream!

I think I will also knit up some valentines card holders for kids to stick the cards they get in. Or place mats and scarves and general easy stuff.

I have a month. I can do all this right?

I always have my hands full craft wise. I can't keep to just one project. I never get bored if I have 10 different things to do. It may take me longer, but I am happier and more likely to do, though I am not really unlikely to do. But you know.


Anyway, thought I would post an update. I learned a new crochet stitch last week and I am making a valentines day colored afghan. I may end up putting a heart in the center, but I think it will just be stripes. I really like the way it looks like that. I am using Vanna Choice yarn in the color rose mist for the main and rose for the stripes. I will be putting up pictures when I feel less icky (I have a cold).

It's a great stitch and makes an awesome afghan. It's called the diagnol box stitch...but more common I hear people calling it the shell stitch...not sure if there is a difference or what. But this is what I have experienced.

Sounds fun smile I think for Christmas gifts I'm just gonna make sorta ordinary stuff I guess.. Hats, scarfs, arm/leg warmers etc.

Oof. What am I not making?

A hat for my bestie (crochet), a scarf for my favourite teacher (knit), some socks for my mother (knit), and chainmaille bracelets for everybody else.
