It was early in the season of snow. Snow Day flew slowly high above the buildings in a city he could only assume was called New York, whatever that means. A large crystal ball was at the center of the city. The silly humans down bellow were coming and going quicker then usual. A busy feeling was in the air. 'Perhaps they are celebrating the coming of the new year,' Snow Day thought.
Manny Pidge were bustling about as well. An entertainer in the center of a crowd caught Snow Day's eye. He had never seen a show and was quite curious. He perched nearby within the crowd. "What a lovely performance," he said to the other pidge.

Chorus Line was giving the show of her life. With a kick to the left and a flap to the right she was doing the pidge can can. She was almost ready for her big finale when she saw a lovely white and blue pidge land to watch her performance and got a bit flustered, but she continued on. With a final kick she did a flip and landed on feet. With the finale out of the way, she hopped behind the makeshift curtain of burlap and calmed her racing heart. She breathed slowly in and out before she went around the sack out to the public.

Blow-Out watched the performer with a smile, when a blue and white fellow landed beside him and commented he nodded and watched the finally. He brushed a bit of snow off his glasses and prepared for his applause, He had happened by, a small trinket in his beak *yet another thing for the inventor to try and figure out* when she had started up. Now with the show over, his plans totally forgotten *couldn't have been important any how* he applauded as she returned to the stage " This one can really put on a show, she can" he said to the fellow who had landed earlier. " Pity you missed the start. Maybe she will do another, None the less she's a real gem!" He winked and cheered to the performer.

Snow Day clapped his feathers. He would have whistled but he wasn't one to act that way. Plus he didn't want it to seem rude. "It was dazzling that's for sure," he said to the pidge next to him with the pilot goggles, "Don't think I could be brave enough or skilled enough to do it. That's for sure." He noticed that it had begun snowing and growing dark. Though he was unsure as to when the weather change occurred. Luckily he had nowhere to be and decided to stay and see what would happen next. He held out a wing. "Snow Day from the flock Half Price. Pleased to meet you," he said to the blue and white pidge.

"That was some miiiiighty fine dancin,' lovely." Came a soft, rather charming coo. The owner was a tall, slate feathered fellow inked with a silvery gray dye.
He swayed to one paw with what miiiight of been seen as a bit of embarassment, if it wasn't for his wide grin and nod. He had snuck back stage just as her performance was ending, in hopes of chatting to the fellow entertainer.

Chorus blushed and tilted her head down a little. "Thanks so much!" she said brightly feeling pleased that the owner of the stage liked her performance. She could feel almost normal around this fellow because he was the same as she. An entertainer with a flare for the stage that couldn't be snuffed.
When she was on the stage, she was most free to do as she liked, be who she wanted. She didn't have to worry about what others thought of her. Chorus knew since the first day she stepped on the stage that she was meant to entertain.
And that was why she put up with the public appearance of being normal around others. Except for males. She was painfully shy around males. And it always seemed that her audience was full of them. With that in her mind, she tried to make herself open to conversation with her audience. She needed to open herself up to them so that they would keep frequenting her shows.

The dark pidge roused his feathers with delight as the rather skilled performer tilted her head. She was right with the thought that she couldn't be snuffed.
The Harvest was a rather easy going, jovial fellow who was usually rather smooth and flirtatious. He was attracted to both male and female alike and often envied and fawned over the dye and trinkets his fellow entertainers often wore.
At this moment he was looking over Chorus and her lovely purple and her sported green feather.
He knew talent when he saw it and she was definitely talented.
"My pleasure! My pleasure! You are def'nitly welcome t' use it whenever! Your moves are splendid! Uh, Baker's, right?"

Chorus Line smiled pleasantly while she replied in her carefully cultured voice, "Thanks very much, I might just take you up on it." She nervously winked, but knew she wasn't exhuding anything more than joy. She was an actress and dancer and could cover her tracks. "Yes, I'm from Baker's flock, and you?" she asked friendly-like.

"Same! Same! Large flock, but I thought I'd seen you 'round time t' time an' whatnot." His amiable grin widened and he tilted his head slightly to the side, and in doing so he caused his head feathers to flop slightly. He swept them with another tilt of his dark feathered head.

Chorus smiled and shrugged in an elegant manner. "I have no idea whatsoever. You might have seen me in a production that the Empire Production Group put on. I've been dancing since March." she thrilled.

" Blow-Out from Happy Hour's flock. Nice to meet ya Snow day!" he said, turning to brush wing feathers in a shake with him "Seams the weather's takin' your name to heart a bit. Hope it doesn't follow mine's!" he chortled and shook the falling flakes off his back. "Decided to stick around a bit have you? Well, I'm not one much for shows but for some reason this time of year inventors have either to much to do or far to little. And to be honest I've plum forgotten which I have. So till I remember I may keep you company."
Unfurling his green neck bandanna/carry all he made sure his nick-knacks hadn't collected any snow before re-adjusting it back on his neck. "Gotta keep em nice and dry or its the rust I'll fight later." he sighed. "So what is your passion there then Snow Day?"

Snow Day looked up at the snowflakes spilling out of the sky. It was awfully chilly but at least the wind wasn't strong. He nodded to the pidge about the weather.
Snow Day was delighted to hear that Blow-Out was an inventor. Being a bird with a life set on new knowledge, Snow Day was enthusiastic to meet another bird with a mind for science. "My passion? Well, I'm a nanny but my heart is set on learning. When I'm not watching the fledglings I spend my time seeking out new studies and discoveries. Plus the chicks and fledglings like to hear stories about the world around them," he said proudly, "Ehem, but enough about me. What is it like being an inventor?"

"Most likely, I kow I've seen you and I certainly don't forget a pretty face." He smirked and preened at his chest feathers, though his eyes remained forward and on the performer.
"You perform with two others, if I am correct... And there was a writer?" He couldn't imagine how difficult the task of putting pen to parchment must of been.

" Ah! More a teacher then are ya. Good profession that." he paused before continuing on, mostly because his claw had flicked over a piece of metal on the ground. And he realized he had dropped the trinket he had been carrying earlier. Bending to pick it up he brushed off the piece of metal before continuing " Whatsit like being an inventor? Well I guess a bit like being a scavenger, I have a few good mates who are scavengers. Except inventors get to figure out the bits they get.. and once we do we put em to use.. not much more to it than that." He pried the piece of metal open.. it was a small wrist watch that had been run over. " I'm particular to these little gadgets. For instance here is a piece that has a lot of little wheels and springs. I'll take whats good and make spinners for our seamstresses, you would be surprised how much easier it is to sew with a wheel or two on your side."
"I also love trying to make new things.. last week I was working on a feather preen-er, like what humans use on there head feathers.. but.. it did more plucking than preening so that one I'm looking for new parts."
Tucking the small wrist watch into his bandanna Blow-out brushed a bit more snow off a wing. " If ever you want to see any of my little gadgets my laboratory is just across from Happy hour's Church." he pointed in the direction of a gilded cross just visable over the rooftops " Its in a small broken attic window in the big condemned apartments next to it. Can't miss it. I leave a few broken cogs hanging from the sill so my scavenger friends can spot it and drop by. Not all my inventions are small so I claimed the spot." he smiled proudly.

Snow Day listened starry-eyed like a little chick on Christmas. "Phenomenal. I'll have to drop by some time. I'm no scavenger but I'll keep an eye out for anything that may be helpful to you. I know we're from different flocks but anything to help fellow pidges is worth supporting," he said, trying to look like a noble bird. He reviewed his words a few times in his head to make sure he didn't break any flock laws. Being new to a flock was tough and at times Snow Day felt on pins and needles.
He turned his head to the bright red curtain. It stood out being the only warm color besides the entertainer's feathers. "Do you think we can go back stage?" he asked accidentally changing the subject without realizing, "I think she deserves a face-to-face compliment."
