I found this particular subject in the ED and thought it would be nice to see what this clan makes of this...
You're wrong in a debate, to the point where nothing on this earth or beyond would dispute that you are incorrect, how do you proceed?
I personally would congratulate them on their superlative debating skill, then change my opinion on the matter.
How about you?

If someone points something out that I haven't thought about, Igo 'hmm, that's true' the moment the argument is brought up, and, well, then I listen to what person has to say and then I go sit in a corner and try to fit it into my other standpoints, and make changes where necessary.

I'd consider their explanation and how they might have gotten it and why it seems correct. I'd try to remember it and consider using it when I cannot think of anything I can consider better or I feel it may be something I ought to go along with for my own sake. I will feel its not 100% true because I cannot come to that conclusion with my own reasoning ability. I'd try to use it when I taught it was the most practical thing I can intelligently do.

I personally have never been in that situation. I like to research what i believe/think well before getting into a debate. Because i'd hate to be in the position where i don't have the evidence I need. If i was in the situation though, I'd like to think that i would be the bigger person and admit it. I know it's one of my biggest problems with debates is that no one changes their mind, no matter how good their opposition. I think there's a fine line between sticking to what you believe and just being stubborn.

I'm always wrong. I even find things that I'm wrong about , will tell the person that I'm wrong, and debate on how I got to thinking that and how I found out that it was wrong.

That's me right thur. Trying to find out how I got to thinking the way that wasn't quite right.
I tread prudently, however, and I don't form an opinion til I've heard a lot about the matter.
If I have gotten to this point, it is because I have been either lied to or mislead.

Ummmm are you saying that you would try to figure out why their point makes your own argument seem wrong. You would be suspicious because you didn't think of that point when you formed your opinion. You would "switch sides" but, still look for evidence to support your original point of view.

I'd use there opinion, which would be my a new "addition to my side" when I think there point makes sense to me. Anyhow, I do not know a lot of things, its ok to not have answers, its ok to take a risk and put things out there. Its ok to come up with an answer, learning something that can make the answer seem narrow, and opening up to changing what we think about something. Its normal, we do it all the time. A debate is just sharing it with another. Its not about who is right and who is wrong. To each his own.

Although I'm never wrong in this hypothetical situation I suppose I'ld just embrace psychosis, neurosis being rather a half measure in this situation.

I don't lose debates. Like, I refuse. But for certain ones where i'm scarcely educated, I may be like, "I'm wrong thank you for showing me the light."
But I don't get into arguments I'll lose.

Do they switch opinion like a sycophant, or do they stand up straight and look into your gun while telling you you're wrong...?
