Another day has passed in the wastes. The night was exceptionally cold and humid, the ground covered in frost gives away the path of smaller animals in the area. Alucard slowly begins to move about and pack up camp to move further north in hopes to find the city that has developed a way to "harness" the so called elements power to find out more information on how they are able to attemp to do so...

making a slow, yet steady pace, aulacard could travel an average of 18 miles a day in the unforgiving landscape, taking great care to avoid anything that may pose a threat or confrontation that usually turned into a bloodbath.

● ● ● ((*sigh* just. . . trying to pull everything together so it makes sense. Sorry if I fail. Please read it all if you're going to post.))
Lolicia felt her heart skip a beat, as the man looked her straight in the eye. She didn't lose her cool though, just smiled, and laid down 3 silver pieces.
Who knew buying groceries could be so ******** hard.
It had been a couple months since she had finally gotten together a couple of dragons who agreed that those with elemental power needed a sanctuary. humans with the element's disease, and dragons, who were doomed from the beginning of time. However, word of there being multiple elementals in one city had spread to the big city. The big city being more interested in the death of the elementals than the survival of the innocent, simply bombed the entire area.
Only waste was left, waste, and the city itself, not 7 miles away. Luckily, they had survived, unlike almost anyone else. They had to rely on it now. Their little cavern of fantasy couldn't survive without these weekly trips to the city.
Lolicia couldn't believe she was doing this, that she was in this city, too scared to have any fun, and that for the first time in her life, she was terrified because she was alone.
If that man had a drop of magical blood in him, injected or natural, just by looking her in her fake eye, he could have exposed her. She started to leave, knowing that getting in and out was the hardest part of the trip.
How did they convince her to go alone? She Was only a child after all. . .
She tried not to think about it, keeping her head down, her cloak made of burlap, not magic, and the bags in her hands stretching from her fingers, and drooping towards the ground.
The city was scary, completely the opposite of the wasteland, yet it still held that empty feeling in your stomach and heart when you walked down the streets.
The only place she couldn't feel that nasty aura, was in the dead little cave where Seranae, Bard, Lillith, and Aerial were. Even when they picked on her, they still took the wasteful feelings out of the dead world around them.
Lolicia sped up her pace, and lifted her head a little, the neon lights of the city fading around her, as she ducked into an alleyway.

Aerial yawned, bored out of her mind. How had she agreed to even be with others, let alone offer a cave for them all to stay in. Of course, no one exactly knew the land like she did.
The small elemental had stalked out of the cave earlier and wandered close to the city. This time, she had disguised herself beyond recognition. But the look on her face gave her away.
Why had they agreed Lolicia would go for groceries alone? Was it because the older ones, including herself, were lazy? Then there was the fact that she had had no clue what exactly groceries were until someone had explained (complete with pictures and actual groceries).
But the fact remained that, no matter how powerful Lolicia was, she was just a child. So the warrior hid herself as best she could outside of the city's boundaries, waiting for her friend

The worst part about the city was that it never slowed down. It was either night or day, and you could walk in and out of both in 2 yards. A cosmetics shop (( just, what was that anyways?)) to a dark alley. There was so much of a different kind of magic in the air. Most dragons stuck to the rual parts of the world, and those who came to these places were often never seen again. All the artificial lights, the strange colorful clothing, the streets filled with mechanical blurs, and so many humans. . .
It was like a whole other kind of magic, and one she didn't like too much.
"Excuse me miss, I-" Lolicia looked up, and locked eyes with a man whose tender voice did not match his over-toned appearance, nor the expression on his face. The hair rose on the back of her neck, as she realized he could see her, and then a sickening groan resounded from inside her body, as her disguise magic. . . began to fade.
"s**t!"
She hugged the food closer to her, and bolted for the outskirts, through the noise, humans and blurs along the streets, unsure of which turn would end up with her body mangled on one of those strange machines.
She didn't even know if the man was still going after her, but she could feel her body changing into a half-dragon mess, her hands turning scaled, wings poking out her cloak, horns growing under her hood, and her entire body shrunk slightly.

Across this barren world... The big window in her apartment, though slightly foggy and usually covered by a large black curtain, had a birds eye view of the busy street below. With the sights came the noise.
Kira groaned and rolled over as some b*****d leaned on his horn for a good five minutes. Sometimes having sensitive hearing wasn't as good as it seemed. She opened a bleary gray eye to stare at the clock for a few seconds before closing it and opening both.
'I slept in again...' she thought as she dragged her unwilling body out of bed and into clothing. 'Oh well' She yawned as she shuffled to the door and threw it open... directly into the face of her landlord.
'Oh ********> She stepped outside and slowly shut the door. 'Maybe if I just walk away he won't notice....' "b***h, what was that?" 'or not' She turned her eyes to the fat man in front of her and gave him a blank look before walking past and headed for the stairs.
"Where do you think you're going? You haven't paid your rent in over thre-" The voice faded away as she flew down four steps at a time. 'God, why do I live here again?' Kira sighed and forced the main door open only to be dragged into the never ending river of humans rushing to ********.
She maneuvered between the people and was about the turn the corner when she heard something running around the other side. She threw herself against the wall just in time to see a strange blur fly past. 'Bastards never think of anything around them' She humphed and started to walk forward before a familiar voice stopped her.
'Unobservant like always' She narrowed her eyes.
'Why's that?'
There was a sigh 'The one who just ran past, it had wings'
Who walks with me?

After two weeks of treking thrugh the wastes aulacard could finally see the city on the horizon. 'finally, I was beginning to think I was list in this cursed wasteland.' He began to pick up his pace to make the city by night, only to be discouraged after finding out that he was on the upper shelf of a cliff. 'typical, it can never be so simple...' after looking around to see if there was a way down, which there wasnt, Aulacard droped his bag and began to search the contents, after a minute he pulled out a silver object that resembled a small rocket. 'these are a pain to produce, but i dont have much of a choice right now." he put his pack back on and locked the straps to keep them secure to his body. moving to the edge of the cliff, he waited.. 'well here goes nothing...' ...and jumped

after falling nearly two minutes Aulacard used the silver contraption seconds from the ground. It streaked to the ground and detonated, releasing a large mass, that resembled green jellow, ten feet high. He flipped in the are to hit the mass back first, it slowed his decent at an incredable rate. as he stood up the green mass dissapated as if it was a vapor, and aulacard began to move toward the city again. 'I love thoes things...'

Aerial saw Lolicia coming, but had no idea why the girl looked like she was about to transform.
"Lolicia! What the hell are you doing?!"
She matched the girl's pace as they raced along the sands.

Vince "Bard" Shintara stood on the top of a large dune, gazing softly out over the land. Apparently, the girls had decided they needed groceries, and had elected Lolicia to go and get it. Not that he could blame them, there wasn't ever any good game around....
But shouldn't she be back by now? Unless, of course, she'd managed to get into some sort of trouble. Again. Vince sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Well, then, I suppose it's time to go play babysitter..." He mumbled to no one but himself. he closed his eyes, and attempted to reach for the ambient energies in a way he was sure only he could. He felt the familiar tug, and slowly urged the power out into the air in a thick wall, displacing the gasses that hung in the air. Vince reached up and pulled down a pair of what looked like a cross between mechanics goggles, and pilot's goggles. They were obviously goggles either way, but the lenses we're mostly round, with a soft curve to make them look slightly more form-fitting.
As soon as the goggles were fixed over his eyes, he let the wedge widen, producing a gap in the middle of the pocket of energy. Of course, it's nearly impossible to keep nothing in any given space, and that was what Vince was hoping for. Since the only available thing to be put into this new vacuum was himself, he wound up flying forward at a fairly fast rate. As soon as he started moving, he would push the vacuum further along, causing it to pull on him even more. In this way, he was able to fly across the lifeless earth in a blur, leaving a large trail of dust behind him. At least, he did until he lifted further into the air.
Of course, this wasn't nearly as enjoyable as natural flight, but it was simple, could be done without changing, and was still a fast mode of transportation. He slowly gained altitude, gazing down at the landscape below. He tapped a button on the side of one of his goggle's lenses, which started morphing and changing shape as it magnified the ground below. This served to further enhance his flight-vision, allowing him to see on the ground almost as if he was hovering a few feet above it as his eyes ratcheted in and out of focus on any particular target. If nothing else, he had to admit, humans made pretty interesting toys. Now if only they weren't so stupid about everything else.
It took him only a couple of minutes to reach the city, at which started to drop silently to the ground, since he couldn't make a bubble of normal air if he was being yanked by a vacuum. The bubble would not only allow him to deflect light around himself and, essentially, become invisible, but would also prevent any thermal scanners from finding him as well. He only stayed invisible until he hit the ground, and was able to meld seamlessly into the crowd. He already had a cover story and everything, should anyone try to see through his disguise. He shuffled along, silently trying to search through this horrible mess to find what he was looking for. There WAS a reason he hated crowds, after all.
And, naturally, by the time he pinpointed her position, she was already out of the city, apparently running from something. That figured. He pushed his way out through the crowd, eventually making his way back out of the city. He shook himself off as though trying to rid himself of unwanted muck before straightening out his clothes. "Well, she has to stop running at some point..." He muttered to himself. So, seeing as how he had nothing else to do, he started walking back off through the wastelands.

Lolicia had cleared the city, and smiled as she realized Aerial was running beside her.
"They came up with a new kind of injection to give humans. One man looked me in the eye, and it completely melted through my magic."
She was sweating, and realizing she was safe now, stopped on the outskirts of the outskirts of the colossal city, collapsing on the dirt.
"mmmm the best part is we don't have a water elemental, do we? I can't even ******** wash this dirt off me." The groceries were slightly mashed, but she handed them over with a limp, dusty hand to Aerial.
"I'll get back to the cave later, I want to rest right now." She closed her eyes, both the one wrapped in cloth and the real one.
It had been a couple months, and no one had ever seen what was under that sewn eyepatch. Though Lolicia pretended to be full of enigmas and puzzles, the only thing that was actually mysterious about her, was her fake eye.

Aulacard was nearly a days walk from the city when he came across a hidden cave, carefully he looked around so as not to be detected. He could tell that it was used frequently, and that whoever stayed there was there not long ago.
With it being nearly dusk he decided that he should make distance from the cave as quickly as possible so that he would not have to deal with the caves inhabitants. he looked around for any possible cover and decided to move to some dunes almost a half mile to the east of the cave.
when he reached the dunes, he dropped his bag and pulled out a larg cloth and some small poles and began to set a makshift tent for the night. after laying his gear into the tent he layed down on a small patch of dead grass and looked up into the sky.
'sigh... i remember when i could look up and see the stars...now all there is to look up at is bleak clouds that never release a drop of rain...its amazing anyone survived the plauge at all...'
Aulacard reached up as if to try and grab something that hung in front of him, as he did his sleeve slid down and revealed several black rings on his arm, each ring contained a diffrent rune in diffrent colors. He looked at his arm for a moment before replacing his sleeve.
'i hope someone in the city knows anything about these markings, anything at all would be nice... i remember waking up after that nightmare...and there they were....should have covered trail............
he fell into a light sleep as he had after the nightmare, he didnt want to whitness the events thet had unfolded in his slumber, and he wanted to be aware of his surroundings in case anything were to stumble upon him at night, gripping his makeshift bowstaff he slept.

Aerial pondered this statement. Now that they had biologically altered the humans to see them...
But wasn't that magic as well? Didn't that make the humans into what they most feared?
And what would the long term effects be? To the human's body/mind? To the elementals who were captured and killed by this new weapon?
And why the hell didn't they have a water elemental?
Her thoughts were interrupted by the smell coming from the groceries. She inhaled deeply.
Meat. Finally.
"I'll take these back to the others Lolicia. Hurry back--the last thing we need is for someone to see us."
The dark-haired warrior wrapped her cloak tighter around her. If the humans could see soul-forms, then what could Lolicia's magical eye see?
Aerial shuddered as she ran, shaking the dust off her cloak.

Across this barren world... 'Wings? You're shitting me'
'Fine. don't believe me. Its not my a** that will be bitten'
Kira growled. 'My a** is your a**' She waited for an answer but when none came she sighed.
'How I hate slip personalities' She looked around the busy street and realized she had been standing there for awhile. The people in the store were staring out the window. She turned the corner and headed for the edge of the city.
The change was abrupt. Going from towering buildings of glass and crowded roads to sandy dunes and a glaring sun. Kira welcomed the sudden quiet and the feel of wind on her face as she ran across the packed dirt before the sand.
Finding a high dune she sat down to wait for night when her scales would blend into the sky and she could shift without being seen.
"Wings eh? Maybe I should look into it.... for all I know it could be a dragon..." Her gray eyes reflected the clouds overhead as she stared upwards laying back.
Who walks with me?

Amid the twisted thorns....
Sigh Serenae glanced around, looking for any sign of anyone. Both Bard and Ariel had disappeared while Serenae and Lillith had napped underneath one of the few remaining trees in the area. The rest had been destroyed in the blast, or drifted into a long sleep when the rains failed. These were the lucky few that had been shielded by the rock face, and nourished by Serenae. Still, they were on the brink of death, and with no water, it wasn't long before they faded away like the others. Where's Lolicia?, Serenae thought to herself. She was supposed to be back a while ago Serenae sighed internally again. Why should it matter if she was okay? She kept on telling herself that, but the truth was, that this rag-tag group had grown on her. Their quarks, which in the beginning she had considered annoying, were now endearing. And though she doubted that the rest of them felt the same about her, she worried about them, and constantly hoped for their safety in this dangerous world. I knew I should have gone myself, thought Serenae. Lolicia is just a child, and I grew up in a city like this one. I should've just had someone else watch Lillith. However, there was a significantly less urgent, but still important matter on Serenae's mind as she worried about Lolicia: money. Originally, she had planned on growing most of their food and taking the extras to the much smaller town to sell, and then using the money made to buy supplies they couldn't produce or make for themselves. However, that plan had flown out the door when the bombs had destroyed both the arable land and the town which she had hoped would provide them with a profit. She had already sold two of her kimonos to help pay for food and supplies, and the money from that was running out. Ugh. At this rate, I'll have to get a job, she thought to herself. However, she didn't allow that thought to linger, and instead focused her attention on the skies, hoping with all her heart for rain. Suddenly, a familiar scent, as well as the tell-tale prickling told Serenae that Ariel was near. She carried the groceries with her, but Lolicia was nowhere to be found. This worried Serenae, and she considered getting up, but the lazy energy that filled the area, and fact that Lillith was still napping in her lap, kept her sitting and waiting to hear what news Ariel brought with her.
 ....lies a blooming rose -Serenae
