Seth Gilder is a 19-year-old rebel living in Italy during the early 18th century. He lives mainly on whatever money he wins from gambling, and whatever wages he gets from his many occupations. His life is boring and repetitive besides the occasional police officer and debt collector. He's never done any major crimes or anything that really messed up his life; so why is he seeing monsters and demons that no one else can see? And why are the monsters attacking innocent people? Seth doesn't know the answers to these questions, but he does know that he needs to think of a solution to keep the monsters away form the people and out of his head. He finds the solution when he meets the pretty, yet bossy Valencia Marcus, who is part of a hidden branch of the Vatican called The Origin Brigade, whose main job is to vanquish demons and all those who crawl forth and advent from the darkness. And Valencia is offering Seth a chance to get rid of the demons once and for all...by joining the Origin Brigade and destroying Lillith, the maker of demons and steward of Satan.

-Character bio: Seth was born a twin in New York and traveled to Italy with his parents and brother when he was 8. However, after a turn of events, his parents were murdered and he was taken to live at an orphanage in Venice since he had no other known family in the United States. His brother, Noah, ran away from the orphanage after a year of living there because he thought the building was haunted, even though Seth had never seen a single ghost. When he was released from the orphanage, Seth took to the streets, gambling, smoking, and doing whatever jobs he could.

-Personality: As a captain, she is professional, bossy, and no-nonsense. But as a person, she can be somewhat girly, picky and persistent. She often worries about how she looks and enjoys shopping for perfumes.
-Character bio: Valencia was born in London to a rich family After her father died, her older sister, Georgiana, took over their father's bank and gave Valencia money to go to school. But instead of going to school, Valencia took the money and went on a patronage to Rome to talk to the cardinal about her strange ability to see demons. She is not on good terms with her sister because Georgiana is pset with her for fighting demons instead of going to college.
