Yeah...uhm...let's see...I am around 5'6 tall and 117 pounds(I haven't used a scale in about 5 years so I'm not really sure). I am trying to tone my body but I don't have that much time everyday to work out. I'm thinking about making up a schedule. The problem is...I have this philosophy that even though I eat what the heck I want I can just work it off because I have a high matabolism just like most teenagers do since I'm 18. However, I want to get used to working out now so that I won't get fat later as my matabolism slows down as I age. I started bellydancing in the late summer and I've been trying hard to stick with it. I've also started doing cruntches every day for like...almost a month because my tummy is getting big..lol, and I haven't seen much results. I know I need to be patient and probably start watching what I eat as well. Any suggestions? It's not that big of an idea but it would be a good idea for me to start now to be healthy and work out. The funny thing though is that I keep loosing and gaining weight...it's like one day I gain weight then overnight I loose the weight and start back at square one, which I believe it's probably just water weight.

Heya =)
If your wondering why you weigh more lets say before bed and then less when you wake up is a few things: - You probably have food still sitting in your stomach, adds weight - Your probably more hydrated, more water in the system will add weight (water weight) - When you eat carbohydrates throughout the day, they get stored into the muscle cells and become Glycogen. Glycogen makes the muscle appear bigger and Glycogen also holds water in the cell, thus making more heavier also. When you sleep your Glycogen stores are low thus why you weigh less in the mornings
Regarding toning, you essentially mean having lower bodyfat with some muscle definition right? Essentially an aesthically pleasing shape. It will really all come down to exercise and diet. Cardio and diet will drop the bodyfat off while weight training will build some muscle definition to give you the shape. Before i go any further do you have access to a gym at all?

That info really helps. ^_^ I should also keep a journal thingy on what I eat every day and what time.
Your definately right about the toning part. That's what I want. I don't have access to a gym because my parents work a lot..I mean I have a YMCA card but I can't get dropped off there to work out. Thereore I am glad I have some equipment at home so I can work out. I have some weights, I can get a training ball from my sis if she still has it, bellydancing helps, I have a machine that is kinda cardio...I think..I'll have to check again. Other than that I think I'm set. ^_^
