Writing contests. Pick a topic and let people write essays on them, and the best writ and most informative receives prizes in the form of gold or items donated by its members. You can sort out later the tid bits if they can be objectional or subjectional later on, and all that jive. Being about debate, I'd like to see a lot of reasoning in them with evidence myself.
Perhaps more subforums. One may need to be aimed at religious debates, so they don't storm the main forum. That's for sure. Hmm... What else...
Avatar art forum, where people post, and I suppose we could just have an art subforum where a picture is posted in a thread, and we debate its psychology. Why was it made that particular way, how does it influence us? Just a few ideas. Nothing major.

Jacki Kane the guild needs more donations before we can get some sub fourms. The writing contest is a great idea. I just donated enough for two subforums in the future.

I'm not all that great with guilds but I guess we should invite more people first because naturally ideas will come up.

A 'Turn-Based Monthly Debate'? Say five or so high-profile debaters who has made their voices heard during that month gets to have a turn-based five-way argument on some topic. All very civilized, and nobody gets to post out of turn, and you get to quote with reckless abandon, agree with previous poster or just say "I pass". And there'll be a sub-forum of it's own where the 'old' debates are put, so anyone can go there to comment on the subject after the 'event' is over. No winner or loser, just good debating on various points on one decided subject.
I think it's a downright shitty idea, but maybe that's just me, heh.
Oh, and of course anyone who's tuning in gets to observe the debate as it's progressing, they just don't get to say anything until it's over. That way we'll have both the points made by the participants, and after the 'event', the observers who's been forced to keep shut during the debate gets to voice any arguments they feel were left out.

Jacki Kane Just Tony Kino may have an idea for a subforum for dead threads/debates... well would you two like to go ahead and run this? I can run the subforum for old debates. Moving threads that don't have replies for maybe two weeks shouldn't be a problem. Kino's other idea I would let him run on his own if he's made a crew member. It's his idea and I would entitle him to it. If he so chose at least.

Stickies for the big 4 topic (abortion, homosexuality, suicide, capital punishment). Neutral position of course. All debates reguarding those should be on that thread and nowhere else. Or else this place will just turn into another mini-ED...

Ah, I would seriously not give ol' Kino here any sort of responsibility or executive power. He's a mean ol' b*****d, that he is, and should be kept at a tight leach, lest he threaten the 'ole operation. And I think the 'Big Four' mentioned earlier... Can't we just skip those? I mean, those are being discussed in a hundred thousands threads already, and I seriously doubt anyone here can come up with any new arguments. I think instead the focus should be on more, y'know, personal questions, that actually influence the lives of the common man. Like weapon control, for example.

Multiple personalities? just playing. I really didn't want to partake, but if others might I'd let them run it.

But regarding my 'Monthly Debate' thing, it's a flexible idea since you can freely change the number of participants. Just two also works fine. Like how you watch two candidates have a political discussion on TV, then you get on the laptop and throw yourself into a frenzied forum discussing what they just heard.

what me and my clan did was make one person who is in the crew or higher, we had them be incharge of a group of things. that takes stress off you.

Maybe... Let's say, a sub-forum where we can discuss recent events. Isreal invades Gaza; who do you think is in the right, who's in the wrong, what are the historical reasons behind the animosity? Maybe someone could start with posting a matter-of-factly background about the event, so even if you don't want to discuss it, you can learn the history behind the event. "This happened in year xxxx, they went here, some did this, and in year xxxx blah blah blah...".
