The twelve muses that inspire us still today. What if they were reincarnating spirits? Their lives sown amongst humans, mortals, to grow and prosper life after life.
You are one of those mortals; the gods have told you so much, but not where to go from there. In a humble 750 B.C.E. Greek setting, twelve young men and women- ranging from only nine years to a full twenty-two years- have been set with a task none of them truly know about.
Perhaps the gods are with them. Perhaps not. But the magic, the power they have gained pushes them to question; do they really need to do the god's bidding?

Name; Xanthe Argyris
Gender; Female
Age; Fourteen
Muse; Thalia; one of the nine muses. The muse of comedy and pastoral poetry.
Personality; Xanthe is an outgoing and witty girl just come to the age of marriage- to which she has protested. She's more likely to be found teaching herself to walk on her elbows than to sit sewing or chatting with ladies.
Appearance; Xanthe is from a small but proud lineage of senators; her father has ruled in the senate since coming of age, nearly forty years. She inherited his rich golden hair, and her mother's greenish-brown eyes, which she calls toad-colored. She is not what you would call beautiful, or sexy; but she is cute. Small, thin, with freckles all across her face. Her own father said she looked like one of her brothers, and calls her by her closest brother's name- Sophus.

Personality; Briana is quiet and respectfully obedient. She's rather absent-minded, but does what she's told and causes no problems.
Appearance; Briana, though tiny for her age and rather bony, is bound to become a beautiful young woman in a few years. She has long, dark curly hair and big brown eyes with clear lightly tanned skin.
Other; Briana is the young daughter of a farmer, Davus Agricol (hence the last name, it being the base word for 'farmer' in latin). However, she is the thirteenth child and she must be gotten rid of because she brings bad luck and is too small for to much work. Luckily, though she's rather creepy when she does it, Briana predicts the future on the stars. This will hopefully lead to her being bought by a rich politician(sp?).

Age; Sixteen
Muse; Mneme; one of the original three muses. The muse of memory.
Personality; Murphy is intelligent and helpful, often doing odd jobs for little to no pay. He enjoys manual labor purely for it's strain and its never ending success in keeping him occupied. However, on occasion Murphy will burst out with a random memory that does not, will not, and has never belongs to him.
Appearance; He's extremely tall, exaggeratedly skinny, and excruciatingly pale, although his insane multitude of freckles all over gives the impression that he's really quite tan. His has long, straight natural red hair (y'know that beautiful Irish red color you can't get no matter how hard you try?) that reaches somewhere past his shoulders - he's stopped checking just how far. Murphy has deep green eyes as well.
Other; Murphy is Irish, so he doesn't need a Greek name. xD He also somehow magically always has tea on his person at all times. Just don't ask where he gets it. xD

[Sparta? ******** that! All my characters are Spartan, then! Lol. Sparta was a hardcore nation. At least, I think it was a nation . . . Anyway, no matter what, it was still hardcore. 300 Spartans and about 700 archers held their own for a week against a million (I think) Persian men, and Persia back then had conquered most of the area. You don't ******** with the Spartans.]
