The Southtown Adventures - end of chapter 1

An hour later, my scouter gave indication that Kyo had finally gave in. Terry was still kissing me at that time when we both heard the signal. Releasing me from the loving, Terry asked me, "Now may we go in there and get our hands dirty for once?"

"One minute, I need to get some sort of a gas mask." Finding a treasure chest, I dug through it until I found what I was looking for. I put the mask over my face and said, "Ready. Let's go."

When we got back to Enthera, the troll was barely standing! But, the job had not been finished yet. Terry and I pooled our energies into one strong attack. We both yelled as one, "Bogard final attack! Bogard Dual rush!"

With one swift move, the troll had been defeated. I lifted the troll onto my back as it was unconscious finally, and said, "Terr, could you deal with Kyo? I gotta bring this fool to LoreKose."

"You got it, hun."

Terry gave me his famous thumbs up, okay signal along with that dazzling smile of his. And so, once again climbing upon the back of the black dragon, we sailed for the skies.

Finding LoreKose, I threw the troll off of my back to prove of mine and Terry's victory. "Lady LoreKose, mission accomplished. Here is your troll. Do with him what you will. Terry and I have a wedding to discuss. See ya!"

Finding a hole big enough, I jumped through it, and I summoned my gargoyle wings, as if I was dreaming. I knew I wasn't dreaming due to the time line that this event would take place.

I glided on the air currents until I sailed down to the library where Terry had just returned from dealing with Kyo Kusanagi. I folded my wings back into my body then said, "Ready to discuss those plans?"

Terry smiled and placed his hand gently on my back. "I sure am, Dee. I sure am."

Be ready for the next chapter of the Southtown adventures after these messages.

Chapter 2 - wedding plans

Japan... a place where it is so different, it is always remembered for it being different. Terry and I were over at Andy's place still dealing with our wedding plans.

At first, Terry wanted the wedding to be in around Christmas time, then he changed his mind because he remembered that the Bogards always have a big Christmas Party, so that was out.

Then he wanted it to be for Valentines day, that is until he remembered what the temps are gonna be like at that time of year.

So, we settled on it being in the Spring and on Terry's birthday. This way it is easy to remember for the both of us. And, on top of that, there was gonna be no King Of Fighters tournament that year for a change.

Mai was still pissed angry that she couldn't get Andy to propose to her, so after Terry and I had set a day for the big day, I requested that Terry and Andy spend some brotherly time together after many years of being separated while I talked with Mai.

After all, I did promise her a secret to getting Andy to be hers almost instantly.

As Mai and I were in a jacuzzi together, for girls only ha ha ha, Mai demanded, "Okay, now that the boys are gone, you must tell me how to win Andy's heart! Please!"

The poor Japanese lady was nearly in tears already because she has been trying for years to win Andy over and yet it seems like her fans are in a bunch and she can't get them unfolded so to speak.

I placed a sisterly hand on Mai's shoulder and said, "Relax, a promise is a promise. Now the first thing you really gotta know about Andy, if you hadn't figured this out already is that he is very stubborn. He's like a mule in this case."

Mai first put her hands on her hips under the water, but then she smiled and laughed as it was only a figure of speech. I then said, "To win Andy over, first thing ya gotta know is that you cannot push him. If you push, you know what you'll eventually get?"

"What?"

"A kick in the ribs. You'll lose him that way. So, absolutely no pushing him to do things. Instead, do stuff for him without even having to be asked."

"But, Dee, I have been doing that."

"Perhaps you have been overdoing things. You see, Andy is not a baby. If you baby him, he's gonna feel offended because you are stepping on his pride, his ego... and guys hate it when you step on their pride."

"So what do I do about that?"

"Well, give me a scenario in where you would be giving him loads of gifts like babying him?"

Mai blushed and said, "I see your point. I baby him every day."

"Okay, so do not fuss over him so much. Something that Andy wouldn't mind is if you cooked him a nice meal every night, since even though Andy can cook, it is something that guys like. If Andy offers to cook you something, then let him. This means that you scored a good point with Andy. Meaning he's liking you more."

"So, what you are saying is, be nice but not too nice. And do not nag or push him to do stuff."

"Right! You remember the 2006 tournament and you were begging Andy to join, but even though he said he would he didn't?"

"Yeah? What about that? I was sooo mad with Andy..."

"It isn't what you really think happened. I dunno if you know, but Andy and Terry... when it comes to their fighting skills, Andy is being generous in the sense that he allows Terry to fight. Andy is accepting that he will never match Terry's skill. He can't. And say there is a scenario in one of these tournaments where one has to kill the other? Do you honestly think that either brother could take such a hard blow to the heart? It would be a double KO and they wouldn't have to land a single hit if that happened. It is why Andy bows out. Terry is a lot like how Jeff would have been if Jeff was still alive. You see, when Jeff was murdered by Geese, Andy was scarred for life that day. Geese wounded him very badly. If there is any babying to do with Andy, allow him to somehow let out his sadness without getting him pissed off at you. I know there is a way to do that, but it is tricky. It has to be at a time when he is already feeling bummed about something. But, gently bring up the topic. And do not bring it up right away. I know of how it hurt Terry that day when Jeff was killed, but unlike me who knows how to bring up the topic without wounding, I would recommend it if you are lucky one night and Andy says, not you asked, that he wants to make out with you."

"You really think that will happen?"

"Maybe, if you play your cards right. I have given you some pretty good advice. Do you think you understand what needs to be done, Mai?"

"I think so. Oh Dee, I hope you're right and it works."

"We can only hope. I just remember what Joe said a while back to Terry. He said that Andy can sometimes be like an animal, bearing fangs and really being nasty. Andy can kill the average guy in like 3 seconds, to prove just how cruel Andy can be. He can be cold, but what do you do to something cold? You heat it up so it melts in your hand."

During that next week, Andy, Terry, Mai, Joe, and me all worked at whom we were going to invite to the wedding. Terry didn't have any clue since he didn't know that many people other than the people he had met in his fighting circles.

I thought that perhaps we could invite those people, but those who were on the side of good. Plus, I figured I would invite my mom's and dad's side of the family to the wedding since that would fill up an entire chapel.

Next was designing the invitations. We all worked at it until nightfall, breaking only for a meal.

It was Christmas Day now in the year of 2029 and fresh falling snow was covering the ground in Japan. We loved seeing the snow since it was a rare occasion and it wasn't cold snow, but rather it was cherry blossoms falling to the ground as if they were snowflakes.

Terry sneezed about a dozen times due to "Sweet scent" making him a bit slower and a bit dizzy. He had to sit on a chair in the afternoon as it appeared that tiny duckies were swarming around Terry's head. "You all right, Terry?" I asked.

Terry nodded and said, "Sneezed too many times in a row. Give me a few minutes and I'll be okay."

Mai and Andy were out together supposedly hunting for a decent Christmas tree for the party that was to happen that evening. However, things were going slightly different for them. Andy seemed to be in a love mode for some reason. His face kept turning the shade of the cherry blossoms falling to the ground and Mai could not help but wonder what was going on with her boyfriend.

Now in the middle of the forest of Hyrule, Andy stopped and looked up at a massive tree. It wasn't the great Deku tree, but one that was good enough to place in a stand. Andy wasn't exactly sure how to express in words how he was feeling at this particular time. It was really mind boggling to him, and made him wonder how Terry manages to keep his cool at times like these. Mai finally decided to be brave and ask Andy what was the matter with him.

He answered, "I-I-I don't know how to express my feelings right now. These blossoms are doing something to me Mai. Its like some sort of mystical magic. Perhaps its elves playing their tricks, but, I think... I think at this moment I am beginning to realize what you have been trying to do. You've been desperately trying to express your love for me in ways that I often took for granted. True, you could have eased up on the babying, but I know why you did. You were kind of like the mother I never knew, and yet, yet... yet you are trying to tell me that you want to do things with me. Embarrassing things that shouldn't be kept outside of the bedroom. Perhaps I am just really immature when it comes to these types of things but..." On and on Andy went.

Mai just listened, her heart all a flutter. Andy had fallen in love with Mai and was trying to admit it. As much as he liked the feeling, he was also embarrassed and upset about how to show his feelings in actions.

Stopping himself in mid-sentence, he kissed Mai as fast as a whip's crack.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 15, 2008 3:47 pm

Mai was all a flutter by the time Andy released her. Her heart was pounding so quickly, she was speechless. But, Andy was now back to his cool and calm and collected self and said, "Mai, let's get going. We have found our tree. Use your fans and lets bring it home."

The young Japanese Ninja did as she was told. After being kissed like that, she could not refuse. She and Andy both carried the tree inside of the house then set the tree in a very open area.

Giggling, she had yanked me to a private room and said in an excited whisper, "He did it, Dee, he did it."

I was sort of out of it at the time and foolishly asked, "What happened?"

"Andy kissed me. He finally kissed me," was Mai's response, "What happened to you to ask such a foolish question?"

Yawning, I said, "Sorry, Mai, I was half-asleep when you grabbed me. I don't think you had noticed that I was cuddled up with Terry when you did that."

Blushing, Mai apologized, "Oops, sorry about that. So... have you and Terry done anything special while Andy and I were away?"

At first I thought she was trying to invade my privacy, but then, understanding why she asked what she did, I replied, "No, not really. Terry and I were just talking. Talking about his past and such. Okay more like I talked until he fell asleep is what happened, but he didn't appear hurt or anything when I told him my thoughts. I doubt I bored him though. It was more like... like I was telling him a bedtime story or something and he just merely drifted off to sleep. It was really quite cute."

Mai looked disappointed. She said, "Aww, I wish I would have been there to see that. Oh well. So, what do you think will happen to Andy and I now?"

I sighed and said, "Mai, you are getting way too excited waaay too fast. It is true that Andy likes you much more than he did before, but you are not in the clearing yet with him. You just have to give Andy time. Remember, Andy isn't nearly as experienced in the ways of love as Terry is. In fact, I think you are his first love ever. And as much as you don't want to wreck your relationship with him, he doesn't want to wreck the relationship with you. He's like a time bomb now. Be careful where you step or he may just explode and in a bad way. Be cautious with him. He is just discovering these feelings of the heart and when something is new to Andy, he has got to test everything to know what he likes and what he doesn't. You can expect a lot more instances with Andy, but above anything he does to you, just remember, do not let it get to your head and you lose it. Patience is the key to winning here, okay?"

Mai nodded her head excitedly. She then asked, "So... what should I do now?"

I placed my finger on my lower lip, then I thought of an idea. I said, "Mai, why don't you invite Andy to take a mud bath with you? He may say no, but that might not be his response. If he asks you why, simply say that you wish to relax him, make him feel more comfortable. Not to baby him at all, but tell him that you understand a bit more about the nervous feelings he's been getting for you have been feeling all excited and such. If you tell him something like this and explain your innermost feelings along the lines of how you feel and just be direct and honest. Chances are then, he will say yes."

Once Mai left the room, and I was able to go back to where Terry was, I gently woke Terry. He groaned and then yawned, "Is it breakfast time already?" He asked.

I shook my head then I said, "Come, let me get you to a proper bed. You fell asleep on the floor silly."

I giggled, then helped Terry up. Then he and I headed to a bedroom where I helped Terry get all snuggled in. He smiled at me, placed a hand behind my ear, kissed me, then said, "I am glad to have a woman like you by my side."

Trying not to get emotional (very hard to do, trust me), I said, "I am glad we met that day at the Pao Pao Cafe."

Terry then closed his eyes once again and fell fast asleep. "G' Night, my wolf," I whispered before planting a kiss on his forehead.

I then snuck into the main room to overhear the conversation between Mai and Andy. Andy was chopping up some green onions for a home made chicken ramen soup when I peered around the corner. Mai wasn't even in the same room yet.

Andy seemed to be enjoying making the meal. I kind of wondered what happened. So, feeling like I have to be a sister about this, I walked up to Andy and said, "Smells good. I guess out of you and Terry you became the cook."

The younger Bogard male chuckled. He said, "Yeah, I guess so. So, like, Dee, was it really your idea to get me to have a mud bath with Mai?"

Guilt was washing over me, but honestly I said, "Yeah, it was me. Listen, Andy, I know that you've been getting new feelings for Mai. I only know because of Mai. She was just too excited about when you kissed her."

"Yeah," Andy sighed heavily. It sounded like he was gonna confess or somethin. "Dee, it isn't that I don't love Mai because I do, its just... it's just I get all embarrassed and red faced when I am around her. Its a feeling I don't like. What can I do about that? I want to show my expressions of love towards mai without feeling like I am about to sin beyond belief."

Understanding from Andy's point of view I asked, "Andy, this might be something beyond your control, but... okay say if you are around Joe, do you feel like you can tell him just about anything and its like he's not gonna care either way what you say?"

"Well, not really around Joe, but are you asking in the nicest way possible that could I be gay and just not know it?"

I nodded. Andy sighed again and threw the green onions into a pot of boiling water. He said, "Maybe. I had considered that possibility. But, Dee, I don't think I am completely gay. Maybe I am bi-sexual."

"That could be. I see that whenever you're around Mai, it is obvious that you want to show deep feelings and are just unable to. And you look to be embarrassed when you are around her. I think that may be partially because of Mai. Mai dresses like a slut in battle, no offense, but I think you may feel more comfortable if she dressed more apporpriately in battle. Those boobs of hers are bound to someday attract the wrong crowd then both of you are gonna be seriously wounded. It was a close call that day when that masked a** tried to kiss her. But you know why he was attracted to her."

"Yeah, I do. But, she is an adult. I can't just tell her how to dress, can I?"

"If you really do love her, yes, you can. You see, there is a fine line with a direct order and just mere concern. Andy, I know that deep in your heart it hurts you whenever Mai has to go into battle. No, it isn't because she cannot survive, we both know she's a strong girl. Its because of her outfit. I have seen well looking ninja ladies that would suit you just fine. Sakura haruna being one of them. My case and point."

I showed a picture of Sakura to Andy and he shut off the stove because the soup broth was done. He nodded as he placed the broth pot on a counter on the side. He then went over to a bread board where he had fresh dough already made waiting to be cut. He said, "Sakura is very pretty, but I still like Mai more than her."

I chuckled and said, "I know that, silly. But, you see my point right?"

Andy sighed for a third time and said, "I guess. I just wouldn't know how to approach her about that."

"Then leave it to me. It may seem like I am playing matchmaker, but honestly, I know that the two of you care for each other passionately. I just want to see the two of you comfortable around each other in that sense. Lets see if I have some magic within that area, okay?"

"If you think you can help, I would appreciate it."

"Hey, that's what family is all about, right?"

Andy only blinked at me as I was gonna go find Mai. Then Andy said, "She's in the bathroom taking a mud bath solo. She seemed hurt though so be careful."

"I will, thanks."

Heading towards the bathroom, I heard Mai crying behind the closed door. As she was sobbing, I heard her say, "I will never get this right. Oh... how will I ever make Andy feel comfortable about being naked around me? I just love him so much..."

Knocking on the door, I said, "Mai, its me, it's Dee. I have a cool message from Andy. Its a tip to help the two of you out."

She wiped her eyes and said, "Come in Dee."

I entered and gave Mai a hug. "Mai, its gonna be okay. I talked with Andy just now. He didn't mean to hurt your feelings, honestly. He's just well, super shy."

"You said he had a tip for me? What did he say?"

"Well... he thinks he would feel more comfortable if you could dress better in battle. The way you dress in battle now makes Andy feel like he's gonna have serious competition. That other guys are gonna want to get naked a heck of a lot easier than Andy is and he feels left out. But, there is a solution to that problem without dampening your ninja class."

Mai tilted her head. I showed her the picture of Sakura to her. "This lady here is Sakura Haruna. She's a Ninja. Now, Andy told me, since I showed him this photo first that he thought she was pretty, but she could never compare to you. Now that says a lot, doesn't it?"

The taller lady nodded. I then said, "If we can make an outfit similar to this and maybe doing something about that big bust you have, then it may help to ease Andy's embarassment. Hey, he was the one who said it was worth a try. I want to see the two of you together. Andy wants you, he just needs my help to make him feel a bit better. And I think the outfit is the best place to start."

"Okay, Dee. Just let me finish with the bath. Tell Andy about what I was doing, okay?"

I nodded then exited the bathroom.

I returned to Andy to give the message to him from Mai, but the poor guy had fallen asleep. Unfortunately, he left the ramen he was boiling running. So, I had to improvise.

Recalling what Sasuke had taught me during one of my other trips to Japan, I had successfully finished making the ramen that Andy had started.

Mai was drying her hair with a towel when she came into the dining room. She too saw Andy asleep and put her hands on her hips. I said, "Relax Mai, it is late after all. Wanna help me get this big guy to bed? I haven't the strength at the moment to carry him solo. Terry's heavy enough."

Mai took one of Andy's arms as I took the other. We then dragged Andy to his bedroom and practically dumped him face first into the pillow. Mai then adjusted Andy so that he was the proper way, kissed him quickly, then shut the door to the room.

I then offered Mai some soup, which she accepted gracefully. Like most Japanese people, Mai ate very quickly. But, she did enjoy every bite. She said upon finishing, "Wow, Andy really outdid himself this time."

I blushed and said, "Um... actually, the noodles I did. He just did the broth part. I caught him with a pot of boiling water still on the hot plate. Ha ha ha! Luckily I learned from a Uchiha."

Mai's brown eyes went wide. She then asked, "Wow, what Uchiha do you know? They're famous amongst the ninjas."

"Sasuke."

"You know Sasuke Uchiha?! That is sooo cool! Sasuke is second in my book. I mean Andy will always be number one to me, but Sasuke is very close to being there."

"Yeah, I know him. Sadly, though... he had to join the Akatsuki. They're a bad group of ninjas. He couldn't help himself. I just had to accept the loss. Though I did learn the noodle trick from him so, it wasn't an entire failure. And I would say Sasuke makes 5th in rank in my boy crush album."

After the hearty meal, Mai gave a huge yawn and said, "Well future sister in law, I am going to bed. Have a good night."

I waved at Mai, then put on my jacket and went outside for some night air. I was perfectly aware that Japan can be ruthless at night, but the truth of it was, I was really, really bored. I had to wait two hours anyway before I fell asleep because of the soup.

It was surprisingly quiet for a Japanese evening. Not too quiet mind you. There was the occasional vehicle out.

I suddenly noticed the studio and wondered if Shuichi Shindou would be playing that night. It was the clubhouse and everyone knew me there. Okay, maybe not everyone, but point noted.

I wandered through the hallways when I heard Mr. Tohma Seguchi talking with someone. I maneuvered closer when I heard Eiri say behind me, "Merry Christmas, your majesty."

I jumped for Eiri Yuki had startled me. I turned around and blushed, "Oh hey there superstar. Seriously Eiri, Merry Christmas to you too."

"So," Eiri continued, "What brings you here at such a late hour?"

"I got two hours to kill. I just had some delectible soup made by Andy Bogard and myself."

"Why is it that the name Andy Bogard sounds so familiar to me?"

I giggled. I then replied, "He's been here a few times I'm sure with Mai Shiranui. And I know that Mai reads your romance novels. I saw one or two in her room."

"Hmph, figures. I wonder why people find my novels so appealing? I never thought that I was that good."

"Its the way you word your novels. Some writers... well, they just don't put the words so that you can see every little thing that's happening. With your novels, women and some guys can envision what you write as if it was a good film. Horror romance films are generally pretty popular. Especially here in Japan. Japan has a history of violent behaviors. Ninjas, the Samurai, Koppoken Karate... there are so many martial arts originating here in Japan. One reason why Mai likes your books so much is because she can relate somewhat to what the characters go through."

It was then that Tohma turned and saw Eiri and I. He smiled then said, "Well, good evening Eiri, Empress Dee, what brings the two of you here?"

Eiri answered first, "Is Shuichi here? He hasn't returned home yet and I was getting worried."

Tohma laughed. He said, "And now you admit that you like Shuichi? Ha ha ha! Priceless, Eiri, absolutely priceless. And to answer your question, Shuichi went over to Hiroshi's place not even five minutes ago. Its a wonder you did not see him on your way in. He sure did seem like he was in a hurry though."

I then answered Tohma and said, "I'm here because I was hoping there'd be something going on. I need to waste two hours because I had some hearty soup."

Tohma put his fingers to his chin and replied, "I see, well, unfortuneatly, I was about to lock up the studio for the night. If you want, you and Eiri should head on down to Hiro's place. I am sure there would be plenty of action there."

I bowed then said, "Thank you for your time, Tohma. It was good to see you again."

"And to you as well, have a merry Christmas."
PostPosted: Sat Dec 20, 2008 10:49 am

Now at Hiroshi's place, Shuichi, Eiri, Hiroshi and I began to discuss what kind of gathering should they have over the Christmas holidays. It seemed like a drone chatter to me.

Like when a person goes into a busy food court and everyone is chattering about the goings-on.

Then, Eiri asked me, "So, what are you doing this holiday season, Dee?"

I blushed and replied, "Preparing for my wedding with Terry. Its actually why I am in Japan now. Terry's visiting his brother Andy and I tagged along. I wanted to help Andy's girlfriend Mai to get closer to Andy. It seems that Andy is having trouble conveying his deep innermost feelings towards Mai, and yet Mai conveys her feelings towards Andy too much. Damn, that reminds me of a fortune cookie: Letting your feelings of true love remaining unspoken is the quickest route to a heavy heart."

The three guys gaped at hearing that I was engaged. Shuichi then manuevered closer to me to see the engagement ring. I showed him and the band was gold with a mini golden wolf figurine on the top. The eyes of the wolf had small bits of diamond in them.

"Wow!" Shuichi exclaimed, "That is one fancy ring! Um, what romantic symbol is the golden wolf for?"

"Well, a wolf mates for life, right?"

"Awwwww!" Shuichi said nearly falling onto his a** then his back in the deep words I had conveyed.

"So, what you are saying is that this ring means that you are Terry's forever no matter what and you are a treasure like no other to him. Very intelligent of him to think of such a symbol," Eiri said with a candy cane in his mouth.

I nodded, "Yep, those were my thoughts exactly. The wolf also means loyalty, honor, and a playful hunting behavior. He thinks that he and I share a similar trait that way. If I am ever thown into a battle, then my hits always land and there are always few that I have to make before my opponent becomes food."

Hiro's and Shuichi's tummy growled. They blushed and said, "I think its time to eat for Shuichi and I."

I then stood and said, "Well, then I must be going. I should be getting back anyhow. I'll visit again."

Opening the door and putting on my Japanese style sandals, I left Hiro's apartment and went back to the Shiranui temple.

I still had one hour to waste, so I decided I would play a bit of "Super Mario 3", the video game that Andy had laying out already.

I managed to get as far as level 1-3 when I had somehow fallen asleep when on the map heading towards the little mini bowser castle.

Terry was up the next morning when he saw me asleep. He decided to wake me up in a sensible fashion. Lowering his mouth to mine, he slowly kissed me until I woke up.

Rising from my slumber, I noticed that Hiro my Blastoise was there too cleaning up something. Rubbing my eyes and yawning, I asked Terry, "You didn't try to make breakfast and fail did you?"

Terry looked at me with a bewildered expression, but then laughed, "Nope, sorry, that wasn't me this time. It was Andy. Andy didn't fail to make breakfast either. He made scrambled eggs with cheese and toast, plancakes and waffles."

"Plancakes?"

"Yeah, flapjacks that have ingredients to make you smart."

"Oh, fish patties. I get it. Ha ha ha."

I then stood and saw that my mario was still waiting for me to continue. I asked Terry if he could be a sweetie and grab me a fish cake and some toast along with some fresh milk. He wondered why, then I replied, "I want to at least finish this level and save the game."

Terry laughed again then got me what I wanted. By the time I was done eating and playing my game, it was already 3 in the afternoon. Andy had begun decorating the Christmas tree with Eiri and Shuichi over to help.
