If I had been asked this over the summer I would have said PSP. But now I'm going to say DS, since it's going online at the end of this year and all these awesome games are coming out whee . I heart the DS.

PSP has had (according to by gullible friend who bought one at launch) a really bad dry-run of games after the launch, Death Jr. (the very first game demoed for the PSP) being the most frustrating flop.
The system's hardware is just too ambitious for handheld limitaions, there's one analog stick fewer than the ps2, which creates numerous problems with camera controll and complicated manuvers in-game.
The DS, on the other hand, compensates for it's technical shortcomings (although the graphics are still mind-blowingly good for a handheld, better than N64) with the freedom of use and innovation the Stylus provides.

I'd have to agree with sir.Fondor, some of my friends still seem to be idiots about the psp, saying how it's so much better. It really isn't, there may be a few games that are ok on it but everything else on the DS is just so much better. Besides, I like the DS more and that's reason enough for me!

There are many reasons why I didn't get the PSP One is that the stystem has alot of Racing games and Fighting games. I'm not interested in those types of games. I know the PSP has better graphics and you can play Movies on it. I didn't feel like spending that kind of money for it. I'm cheap when it comes to certain things. As for the DS I knew they were coming out with really cool games that almost everyone likes to play. I'm still waiting for MarioKart to come to vs. my friends that's one of the reasons I got the DS.

It's easier to say that nobody buys PSP for it's games. I don't compare the two. UMD movies sell better than anything on PSP. DS games sell more than those still. I could say so much more, but frankly, in a DS Guild, it seems self explanatory.

my vote goes for the DS. however, a friend of mine has a PSP so whenever he has it at school I play it for a bit, but gamewise, DS beats PSP in the long run. and my friend has a friend who always bitches at me saying " just because the DS has two screen doesn't make it better" well, whenever he says that again, I will so say " so, better graphics doesn't make the PSP better!" xp

Oh yeah, as it was pointed out earlier, it's kinda silly to ask something like this in a DS guild. rolleyes
The PSP actually has a pretty decent amount going for it, if it was cheaper, and had more rpgs or strategy games coming out, I would have gotten one.
It's gotten some pretty good franchises into it (MediEvil, Katamari, etc.), plus I don't have an MP3 player at the moment. Portable movies would also be good.
The DS beat out for me by not all that much, mostly because of price of both games and system, and the innovation in it. 3nodding
It was a struggle deciding though. xd

PSP features I need and don't need:
Music: Got my ipod bitches. Movies: Movies on the go would actually pretty cool... Games: Yeah, PSP's games are pretty good. Pictures: All stored on my computer. But it might come in handy if for some reason I wanted to look at them on the road...

It was an easy choice for me. I already have a portable MP3 player & if I wanted movies on the go I would have gotten a portable DVD player long ago. Most of the PSP's games are remakes from PS2 titles. Sounds cool but those games couldn't convince me into getting a PS2. Maybe if they had new & exclusive Megaman games or something I would have gotten it then again I did get the DS soley for Advance Wars & Mario Kart. The fact that I've gotten other games that I like was a welcomed surprize.

Sony PSP
The PSP might have good graphics and it makes Nintendo DS look bad with its graphic, but what about the GamePlay. The console itself has a nice design. Okay, the negative things with PSP is the updates and the batterylife.
