Millions of years ago, fox tribes inhabited the Earth. They walked, and spoke, like we do today. Their villages were small and numerous, each one pertaining to a theme. The world was different then, obviously, and it can be said that the sizes of tribes varied. The largest were towns, the smaller ones villages. To counteract the peace between the tribes closest to one another, there were the hostile tribes. They contained outcasts, those foxes banished from their tribes and clans, bent on destroying the village or town. This particular story is about such an attack; or rather, the aftermath. Pay attention, kittens, this is important to know.

To start off:
The Moon Fox Tribe was attacked last night by one of the hostile tribes. Almost everything was destroyed, but a few houses still stand. Half the army was wiped out, the other half severely hurt. Their attackers had a much bigger army than they thought. Only one wolf remains. The foxes managed to destroy their foes, but at this great price. Now, as the last hours of the night begin to wain, the inhabitants are beginning to clean everything up. This night will be forever remembered as The Night of the Sullen Moon, hence the name. Friendly tribes are also coming to help clean up, when this tribe, who had helped them in their time of need, needed them now. Tensions are high, and fights are sporadically breaking out around the village. Will this once-peaceful and glorious tribe regain and rebuild to where it was, or will it break down from the high-tensions?

About the Villages:
The times were hard for the fox tribes. They knew their time was coming, but it was thankfully not in the life of the teenage generation. Most of the tribes were friendly toward one another, but there were smaller tribes comprised of exiled foxes bent on destroying the larger friendly tribes.

Within a tribe, there were 5 levels: commoner, noble, squire, warrior, and elite warrior. Each job had a little better pay than the last. Each rank, I should say. However, if you were a commoner, you didn't have any less of a chance of becoming a squire as a noble. These villages were fair when it came to things like that, and indeed even fair when it came to what gender could do the jobs. Men and women could do almost any job the other could do, except for training the guard dogs. That job was given only to men, for the safety of the women.

The guard dogs were more like wolves, and big ones. Often they were quite affectionate and willing to cooperate with small cubs. However, they became vicious when they smelled an enemy tribe or they were brought into battle. The men who trained them were solely those who had strong hearts and strong wills, and were unafraid of the wolves when they were in a rage.

That is pretty much all their is to tell. Their clothing was pretty primitive, everyone has a loincloth safely around their waist, and for women and girls two straps around their chest. The clothes were made for speed, shirts hugging the women's frame, everyone's loincloth short but not too short. There was a small pair of underwear built into the loincloth for emergency flipping and landing and all that.

Now I think I have covered all but one topic: the houses. Houses were large or small depending on how much the family wanted to work. All houses had at least one bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Bathrooms had a large pail in it that had to be filled with warm water every time someone wanted to take a bath, and it had to be filled by hand.

I hope this has given you a pretty good image of what a typical tribe was like. Weapons and everything varied, I'm sure I don't need to tell you. Oh, but there were also trackers and ninjas, specialized for sneak attacks and silent assassinating.

Main characters (within MY larger story, not particularly this one):
-Orthose-female (Magic Bus)
-Rathíl-male (???)
-Onue-male (???)
-Fievez-female (???)

Here's the deal. Rathíl was instructed by Orthose's father to keep her safe, and as it turned out he's got a crush on her. I'll get that little bit up in a minute.
Onue is Rathíl's brother, who is also charged with her care, but doesn't find her interesting, like his brother does. He's too old for her and he knows it. Fievez is Orthose's best friend in the Cloud Fox Tribe, where the brothers are taking her. If I've left anything out, please notify me.

Also, before I close, I just wanna say that if you don't wanna join as Rathíl, Onue, or Fievez, you don't have to. This is a roleplay, and as such, any character is major, and welcomed. Although, this would make much more sense for someone to play Rathíl. If no one does, I will. ;3 Confusing as this may be, attempt to understand it and join me!

Questions? Just mail me, I'll answer them. And yes, this roleplay is open to everyone.

The young warrior stared at the wrecked house. Hers, among many, had been subject to plunder and destruction while the main war was going on. Those who had survived the terrible ordeal were grouped together, crying over broken bodies and dead elders. Not her. She stood unable to to take this in, dumbfounded. She was the youngest in her village, youngest of the Moon Fox Tribe. Others had been pregnant, were only a few weeks away from delivering, but they'd all been killed. She could hear the others' sobs from here, isolated as she was. A jagged scar ran from her left jawbone to her right ear, running over the bridge of her nose. A gash running across her lower stomach caused her to kneel, but it wasn't bleeding anymore. It was just painful. Finally, tears sprang down her face.
"Why father?" she whispered. "Why did you have to leave me alone?" An ancient speech came from her mouth, one long .wsotten but for a select few in each village, no matter how small. Her eyes closed tightly as her head bowed and her sobs became slightly more audible. A pair of strong hands gripped her narrow waist and pulled the 16-year-old to her feet. A soothing voice drifted into her ear, using the same dialect she had just spoken.
"Calm down, young warrior," he whispered. She pushed away from him, trying to see who it was. A fox who looked to be one year older than herself stared back at her. He had quite the face, with a look that, if she hadn't been so upset, might've been seductive. Her wide eyes stared at him, tears gone unchecked. Had he spoken in tongues...?
"Who are you?" she asked in a shaky voice.
"As far as I know, who I am isn't much important right now, Orthose of the Milky Way clan," he replied. That same voice flew into her ears. "What is is the comforting of a young warrior maid. He sent me to look after you."
"He?" Orthose asked. "Who's 'he'?" She allowed him to pull her to his chest, wanting any kind of comfort she could get. To her surprise, it felt almost... right... as his arms wrapped around her to hold her tightly.
"You're father," he replied softly. "He knew this day was coming. He hailed me from my home, wanted to make sure that when this day came you'd have someone to rely on. He knew you'd have a hard time accepting this, young as you are. I'm sort of like a guardian angel." If she hadn't been so glad for someone to be there for her, she would've called him cocky. But then again, most guys were. But at least he was upset that her father had died; his eyes betrayed that. "You can call me Rathíl."
"What's going to happen now?" Orthose asked him. She pressed into him, head against his shoulder. She felt him sigh.
"I've been instructed to take you to the Cloud Fox Tribe," he replied. She pulled slightly away from him, mouth open the tiniest bit. Seeing this, he bent and kissed her full on the mouth, knowing what the consequences might be. Orthose was too surprised at this action to resist his hand that pulled her body closer to his.

**Just so you know, they all wore long loin clothes that were thick around the waist with a small pair of underwear underneath it, and for the girls, a small strip of cloth supported by one strap over a shoulder covered them. And, in case you couldn't tell, that's the kinda guy Rathíl is.
