They left the city and then the carraige suddenly stopped. She started to think about getting out to see what it was, but she wasn't sure what to do. So she was silent.

She saw some guards come walking around to see what the problem was. She then felt people pushing on the back of the carriage. One of the Captains came up to the window of her carriage on his horse. "I am afraid your carriage is stuck in the mud, we will get moving again... soon." He rode off to make sure the rest of the group was ok. A moment later Luna felt the carriage lurch forward again, and they were moving, albeit more slowly than before.

She still didn't understand, but she decied to go along with it acting casual. It worked for a little while. Then the carraige was getting slower again. What now? she thought

The carriage got stuck again. She could feel the guards trying to push it out of the mud again, and then she heard a shriek of terror from outside.

She jumped up from her seat. "What the heck was that?" She jumped out of the carriarge.

She sunk in the snow a bit, and the first thing she noticed was that the snow at her feet as red, and lying not far away was one of her guards, with a knife buried in his throat. She looked up and she could see snow and dirt bursting out of the ground like the entrances to little tunnels. To her surprise she saw giant rats, probably not much bigger than a Dwarf, jumping out of these tunnels. They carried wicked looking short swords and daggers, and wore tattered clothes covered in dirt. They also ran towards the caravan on two feet, instead of 4. Her soldiers charged forward to protect her. A line of musket men lined up and fired a volley into the ratmen's ranks, adding smoke to the already confusing battlefield. Out of the smoke burst the terrible rat creatures, they jumped up and onto her soldiers, burying their weapons into those who were unlucky enough to be too close. The smoke began clearly and Luna could see more ratmen coming forth in an endless wave. She heard fighting on the other side of her carriage, telling her that she was surrounded.

What can i do, she thought. Then the thought occurd to her. We have to fight. I guess that means i need to break out the magic. Man i haven't dont this in years!

A Ratman came around the corner of her carriage, and then rushed at her, but just before it reached her it was blasted aside by a bolt of blue lightning. The lighting came from Zacharias, he had one smoking finger held up like a gun, nodded politely to his Queen, and then proceeded to zap other Ratmen.

Another ratman came towards her. She used her frost blast and it was incased in ice. She flicked it and it crumbled. Cool she thought. That never gets old. she chucked in her thoughs.

Someone shouted, "we need to seal those tunnels!" Not too far away Zacharias used telekinesis to throw some Ratmen into the air. Then he aimed his powers at the tunnels, cause several to collapse in on themselves.

A ratman come out of no where. By the time she tried to use her magic it was too late. He was on top of her.

The ratman carried a jagged piece of metal with cloth wrapped around one end of it as a dagger and clawed at her viciously. The troops around her were all either too busy to help and could not get to her. One soldier let out a yell of warning, and Zacharias turned to see what was happening. He looked in horror and started running to save her.

By this time, Kyoco had teleported from the desert... to a battleground? He was in an alley, and right outside... people were fighting for their lives. With ratmen. Which surprised Kyoco, because he knew that he had never seen such a weird creature, nevertheless heard of one.
Maybe I've seen them before my amnesia... Kyoco thought. Reasonable enough. But what was he going to do in this situation?
But before he could proses anything through his mind, he heard a caterwaul that echoed through the alley. Kyoco spun around. A ratman. Instinctively, Kyoco stretched out his hands and put his palm faced up, fingers curved. The ratman stopped. Kyoco's hand started to shake. The beast backed away, but before the creature could escape, a massive gathering of energy was flying towards the creature... and BOOM! Ratman exploded everywhere.
"Disgusting."
But, he had to go out there and defeat all the other gnarly-looking things. With whatever new power he possessed, anyway. So, Kyoco ranout of the alley and into the battle.

(Um, originally the battle was in the middle of a big field, but, that could have occurred in a farm if you like)
By now most of the tunnels had been collapsed my Zacharias, and the flow of ratmen soldiers was slowing. Smoke from muskets clouded the battlefield and there were sounds of dying and fierce battle cries all around.
