Such. A. Long. Day. Dear goodness.... Ligeia almost passed out on his bed when he entered his hotel room. Such a chaotic day.... Ligeia did not like Chaos. Chaos was bad. And not the bad-fun kind of bad... just bad. Not that Ligeia really liked bad-fun besides when a certain someone was..... well Ligeia didn't even want to think about that kind of thing at the moment either. Then he would have to get into this moral debate with himself about sexual thinking and he did not really feel like nagging at himself at that moment in time. He has just learned about this sudden silly war.... and borders being closed off. Just PEACHY, how was he going to get home with all this going on?! However, just as his face hit the pillow... he heard something fall to the floor. He got up, rubbing at his eyes, looking down at the floor, seeing a piece of paper and a pen sitting there. Picking up the piece of paper, he discovered a survey of sorts, left by the hotel. Apparently, they wanted him to fill it in.
Letting out a defeated sigh, he opened the piece of paper, looking over it and beginning to fill it out. Basic Characteristics Name: Ligeia E. Crowe. Ligeia wrote in his name, thinking over the meaning of the simple thing as the words covered that blank space. Ligeia, his first name. Embarrassing when people questioned what it meant... its origin, or even were wise enough to figure out that it was originally a woman's name. Very few seemed to notice however, so he was saved that embarrassment. And the E. in his name...... E for Edward. Having been raised without parents to name him, an orphan, he hadn't chosen his middle name until quite a few years into his life. More painful memories he felt the masochistic need to remind himself of every chance he got.... dear goodness he was certainly a delightful person, wasn't he? And the last name, also chosen out but at an earlier age. He happened to forget the reason why he chose it, but it was simple and easily remembered. Age: Twenty-Seven Dear goodness, has it really been 27 years? Ligeia had to actually pause a moment and think the answer over before he wrote it down. People barley asked his age, and he seldom gave it out. To think of all the things that had happened in the past years.... it was shocking to realize that in no time at all he would be Thirty years old. Most would find that frightening and get a bit of a shock, realizing you are just that much closer to death. Ligeia seldom feared death however, it seemed so much a part of his life now that he doubted even something powerful as death would or could end his existence. Gender: Male. Ligeia stopped for another moment, rolling his eyes when a few people came to mind who would insist he enter another gender on the piece of paper since he was 'more womanly than half the females in the world'. A sick joke that seemed to pop up constantly, that he continued to ignore. Country: Wistera; my current little prison of choice (pardon the grim sarcasm, I seem to be in quite the sour mood today...) Ligeia could not help himself, he had to fill that one in a bit sarcastically. It was true however, though he originated in Wistera... he was stuck there at the moment. He had other people waiting for him in another region... but he had no way to get there unless he obtained military rights, and Ligeia joining the military was as probable as the oceans turning black and the sky falling. So while his answer was supposed to come off as sarcasm, it was true. Wistera was his prison until he could cross borders once more. Class: MageAnd a damn good one at that. Ligeia filled this one in with a bit of a smirk, reviewing his abilities in his head. Physically ..... Ligeia admitted, a five year old child could possibly bench-press more than he could, but what he lacked in strength he made up for with pure talent. Level: Starter Tier At the moment, yes Ligeia happened to be the weakest class. Was he only that talented? Certainly not! Ligeia had more ability in his left pinky than some of the higher ranked imbeciles they allowed to run around with staffs and swords. Did Ligeia attempt to move up in ranks? No. He did not. Ranks were a system set up by others who wised to easily classify their opponents. He would rather people underestimate him, and catch them by surprise rather than have the glory. Occupation: Retired. Ligeia could put down no other occupation besides this one. He had no solid job.... Ligeia had already made his fortune. Through inheritance, through investment schemes, through profitable planning and other various successful jobs, Ligeia had gotten enough money to last him the rest of his life. He had enough for a life's worth of food, hotels, clothing and books. So his occupation was simply to travel the world and add onto his vast extensive knowledge. Religion: --- Ligeia would keep this blank. He could not possibly answer.... his religion was a touchy subject. Certainly, no one would put it against him if he didn't fill it in.... External Features Height: Five feet and Seven inches. Easy enough. It was true, a bit on the short side but he didn't need height on his side. He had intelligence. Hair color: White. White hair... It had changed though. Once it was a light silver color, that silver seemed to fade though. And even before that it had been a darker gray. That was not even the color hair he was born with. He was born with bright orange locks, and extremely loud color to have. That all faded away though due to extreme shock, back many years ago... Eye color: Dark gray. Just like how Ligeia could not stop change from happening to himself, change was happening to his body. He had been born with bright green eyes, and those too faded to dull gray when a certain incident happened. They seemed to lighten up as well over the years however, oddly enough. Overall Appearance: Pale skinned, usually dressed in suits or other formal clothing. Ligeia did not wish to really elaborate on this.... these questions were beginning to get a bit odd. Did they really need to know how he dressed, and what he looked like? Ligeia was pale indeed, barley any coloration at all. The only time he ever got any color on his face was when he was embarrassed and a non-stoppable blush spread across his cheeks. His skin was completely flawless, save for a few scars on his chest and upper back. As for clothing, Ligeia was indeed formal. He refused to have anything besides suits, ties, and button up shirts and all that. He always wore dress pants, and his idea of casual was walking around without his vest and tie. He also wore turtlenecks however, along with classy pants and jackets. He also had a pair of glasses, square rimmed. Oddly enough these were completely unnecessary, his vision was perfect. However, he liked to be underestimated and what better way than to fake poor eyesight? Ligeia was a very slim man.... hardly any muscle mass on him at all. He was a bit underweight, having not eaten much lately due to worry... but he was still an attractive man. Nothing eye-popping in his opinion, much less horribly desirable... but he figured himself to be without any physical flaws someone would find unattractive. Ligeia took this time to look through some photos he had hidden away in his vest, that might cure his homesickness for a bit and give his mind a bit of a comparison, having no mirror around. Just a few pictures Legrand had taken.... like this and this one. Frederick had also taken a couple...... one and these and that time he tried to wake Ligeia up for no apparent reason..... Finally, he took a look at one miniature drawn out portrait he had a smaller copy of, taken from a few years back... one of his only good portraits. Weapon: I shall use whatever is around me as a weapon, if need be. However, I do have a certain weapon I have been using for a very long time that never changes. I call it my 'trump deck', a crafty little invention created by myself. The Trump deck is a pack of playing cards, their appearance being normal save for a small yellow line running down the right side of each card. This line is the significance of the card. When needed, the user shall remove a card from my deck and tear the card down the line. This releases a certain amount of energy, varying based on which card was torn. Lower value cards won't give as much energy as a higher value. Twos are the weakest and Aces are the most powerful. Each card will give the user a certain trait, weapon, or power... such as a staff or super-strength or even steel arms. However, each card also comes with a pre-set price. Once the power the user obtains is received, the user looses something. A certain memory, control over a body part, some knowledge.... or their life, all their logic, and other things such as this. The user can never get the things they loose back once they have lost them, unless they sacrifice the life of someone close to them (which of course, would never happen. Ligeia would die before sacrificing a friend or loved one). They also temporarily loose sanity.... more sanity the higher the power of the card is. Hence, Ligeia does not use these a lot. He keeps the extended explanation out however.... It is most certainly not needed. If the reader did not know what a trump card was, well that was just too bad. Internal Features Relationship status: In committed relationshipLigeia's eyes travelled down to his left hand, spotting a small silver ring. Ligeia did not quite know how to explain his current relationship besides that. They were certainly lovers, two people with some kind of strange connection. Ligeia loved Frederick very much. The relationship had started so oddly, so confusing, but somehow they had gotten to the point where they understood each other somewhat... and Ligeia obtained a ring as a symbol of devotion. Such a funny thing, going from insisting that he is hetero-sexual and then right into a strange and twisted romantic relationship with such a man. How he missed Frederick...
To get his mind off of that, Ligeia looked to the next section.
Personality? What kind of survey was this?! Personality?! Ligeia did not know quite how to fill this out at first. It was..... so irrational! However, he would give it his best. Personality: Organized, strict, intelligent. 'Organized and strict rich male looking for a SWM for long walks on the beach and cozy fireplace snuggles' Dear goodness Ligeia was going to commit suicide if he let those thoughts continue. He sounded like he was filling out a personal add in some kind of dating magazine. Ligeia was indeed organized.... obsessively organized. In fact, there was a name for men like Ligeia. People with 'Obsessive Compulsive Disorder'. It had calmed down in the past couple of years... but Ligeia still found himself tapping the four corners of a book before opening it, re-opening doors if he didn't open it correctly the first time... and obsessively cleaning to avoid anxiety attacks. Ligeia got anxiety attacks quite a lot... he was also extremely paranoid. He had a irrational fear of germs, and other things. At one point he was terrified of blond people, oddly enough. Strict was indeed another word to describe Ligeia. While he had also gotten a bit softer as years went by, he still would not stand listening to others swear or act inappropriately. He was a bit close-minded, and could be quite stubborn. Besides all of this, he was most certainly intelligent. He wanted to miss no piece of knowledge... no valuable information. He wanted to know everything. And yet, while he could be strict and demanding and angry.... Ligeia had a soft side to him. He was always quiet and gentle with children, and could never leave someone in need of him. It was easy to tell when he got nervous.... Ligeia had a terribly stuttering problem that only showed when he got nervous or anxious, backed into a corner or in other submissive circumstances. He would NEVER let alone know this though, let along a survey.
Next along the lines of questions was.........................
Well this was a fine 'how do you do'. History?! Did this survey really expect him to give his life story, right here and then? Certainly not! Ligeia would never fill in such personal information! History: Born in Wistera, moved out of country for a short period of time, recently returned. That was all he was going to give some piece of paper who did not even care to give its name back to him! ....... the person who wrote the paper actually, not the paper itself. Dear goodness, Ligeia really was going insane. Point being? Ligeia was not going to trust anyone with his past. It was hard to think about.... painful for the first part of his life.
The first part of his life was long and extensive, were very few significant things happened. He was abandoned on the steps of a temple as a baby, his parents leaving only a note asking for the priests there to take care of him. He was raised there until 17, when he asked to be allowed to go out and search the world.... to learn more. So what did they do? Send him off with a smile? Nope. They shoved him over a cliff. Very loving, eh? Giving him a woman's name then trying to kill him off for knowing too much. But he didn't die. No, he survived... though the shocked turned his hair gray and his eyes gray, he lived. The next part of his life was a bit more depressing. He was saved by a rich man.... his name was Edward. Edward was no normal man, he was wealthy, lonely, drug addicted.... and completely obsessed with Ligeia. Ligeia was thankful though, so he stayed and decided to learn all he could from the man, and educate him about what else he knew. Ligeia somehow fell in love with Edward... this rich opium-addict who seemed to obsess over him. Perhaps it was the love of having so much attention on yourself? Ligeia loved him back until one day, when he fell very ill. Ligeia was alive still... but Edward believed him to be dead. He sent the 'body' away to be buried, but an old woman caught up with him before he was put into the ground and took him, healing him back at her cottage and curing his disease. After being cured, Ligeia immediately went back to Edward's house, so excited and thinking that Edward would be waiting for him, just as obsessive as before. However, when he got there he learned the grim truth.... Edward was getting married. He was getting married to the lady Rowena, a beautiful blond woman he had recently met. Heartbroken, Ligeia could not leave. He insisted that he stay as a servant, and one day talk with Edward himself. The day came when Rowena suddenly fell ill with a disease as well, and Ligeia went to speak with Edward himself. Edward had overdosed on opium however, shocked to see Ligeia before him and convinced he had come back from the dead for revenge. Ligeia held Edward as he died from the drug use, apologizing in an insane manner. If Ligeia had been heartbroken before, now he was devastated. Unable to let his death be for nothing, Ligeia used black magic to turn his love's body into a weapon, his trump deck. Ligeia left Edward and his castle, being the only inheritor of all of the money that he had owned. Without any purpose, he wandered until he found a 'cleaning crew'. This cleaning crew was a group of people all working for the royals, an assassination team disguised as a simple team of cleaners. Either way they 'cleaned' for the royal family. By now his heart was frozen over, all emotion void and gone. He was sure this is how he would spend the rest of his life.... until he got to know one of them more.... personally. Frederick. Once again, it was a relationship that started with an obsession. Frederick would approach Ligeia time after time, attempting to start conversation and Ligeia would coldly ignore him or tell him off, trying to keep distance. Frederick was impulsive, rude, violent and loud, highly sexual and perverse. Ligeia did not like him at all at first. He figured that he was only an idiot. A moron and imbecile. Ligeia hated Frederick.... all up until the day he made the first move and actually kissed him. Ligeia suddenly felt emotion again, and his icy personality began to crack. From that point on, Ligeia began to become terrified of Frederick. One day, the cleaning crew split. Half of the crew took off, trying to escape their profession and be more 'free', going out to do whatever the hell they wanted as 'rogues'. Ligeia and the rest of the team were sent after them, to reunite the cleaning crew. The cleaning crew never was really reunited. They chased and chased, but never could convince the rogues that it was a good idea to join. Not for the money, not for the power, not for any reason. Frederick stalked Ligeia, as Ligeia tried to find him. It was funny, thinking about how the entire time they had been chasing after one another. Ligeia did not quite know exactly when he really fell in love with Frederick, but it took so long for either of them to realize what their situation was. Ligeia and the rest left the cleaning screw, moving away to another territory to start new lives. Some stayed together, finding companions amongst themselves, and a few travelled off to find people elsewhere. Frederick and Ligeia stayed together, finally somehow settling down in a comfortable relationship. Ligeia, recently, started the new chapter to his life. Before the war broke out, Ligeia had decided to travel to Wistera to pick up a book he had been after... searching for all over the countries. Frederick had decided to stay back, letting Ligeia have his own little adventure for once. However..... the borders closed after Ligeia left the country, and he was separated from Frederick.
Ligeia let out a sigh, putting down the pen he had been using to fill out the survey, too depressed to continue anymore. He didn't need this survey, he didn't need any stupid little pieces of paper or even that book he wanted.
He was going to get across those borders. He was going to get back to his friends..... Egaeus, Madeline, Roderick, Eleonora, Legrand, Montressor........ And Frederick. He was going to get back to them even if he had to stop this war himself.
