I thought we should have a post where we discuss what we thought of the movie.

What did you like? What didn't you like etc.

I watched it yesterday. I have to say it sort of felt rushed to me. Like someone speed reading through the book. I guess they had to cut out scenes though.

I was sad that my favourite part of the book was not included (The Blood Typing scene!)

They sort of screwed up their developing relationship.

I thought Kristen did awesome as Bella. She is a great actress. I'm not so sure about Robert. I didn't see him doing Edward as smoothly as I would have liked.

The actor for Charlie did great. I think he was almost the best portrayed.

All in all though it wasn't too bad. I'm mad about some missing key parts but glad that it portrayed mostly what it should have.

If I was a person who did not read the books however I don't think I would have understood what was happening and what everything meant.

So please leave some feedback of what you thought I'd like to know!

I was bit disappinted with the movie.
I think that they didn't shot very well the scenes, but everybody I know that have seen the movie liked it, so maybe it's just me.... confused

i thought it was good.. i loved the scene where bella goes to edward's house and meets the cullens. it's so funny! and edward's family was being really weird, and at the end of the scene, you could see he just wanted to get bella out- he rolled his eyes. blaugh and when bella introduced edward to charlie, charlie picked up his gun. lol i thought that was really funny, too.

The movie was an unintentional comedy. I found it extremely amusing in ways I know were not intended. While I did find the film to be more laughable then romantic, that doesn't stop me from wanting the DVD.

They changed things around, but not to a point where I felt the story was hurt any by it. I also really liked a few of the changes they made...Like when Edward was reading minds and summing up their thoughts in one word. Or the constant mention of Pepper Spray by Charlie

As a Jacob fan, I really enjoyed that he was in the film more then he had been in the book. Jacob is awesome.

The one thing I didn't like about the movie in comparison to the book was the scene where Edward saves Bella from the thugs in the ally. It seemed a lot more forced then it had felt in the book and the acting in that scene was...it wasn't up to par.

I thought the movie was great.
I am also dissapointed that they left out the blood typing scene, as I was also looking forward to seeing that. They could have done the part with the four rapists better, Edward was supposed to be furious when he said "get in the car" but instead he said it calmly and when in the book did he get out??????

I liked it. Some of the things were changed, but it had the same overall atmosphere of the book for me. The two things that got to me is that Jacob warned Bella for only $20, when in the book he was MAKING A CAR! The other thing is that they did not introduce the Volturi. That is a pretty integral thing to skip considering they play a huge role in the next books. In the book they are introduced in the chapter Bella is looking at all of the pictures.

I did really like it. I sat in the theatre squealing the entire time and my mom's sitting next to me going "WTF!"
But I also got her addicted to it so it all turned out okay.
I was kind of sad with the sparkling scene... they weren't in a meadow... they were just chilling in the forest... and he wasn't super sparkly. But we all knew that anyway

I just read Twilight over to make my judgements again and I just noticed that in the movie the character development was poor. And the relationship development between Edward and Bella was poor. There was just sooo much more in the book that showed what it was.

I definitely wasn't blown away by the movie and I really wish it could have done that.

But they have little time and they can't make it the same I guess. I just wanted more!

Honestly, can you say that they could have made him sparkle more without looking ridiculous? What they did for the movie was already laughable.
The friend who got me into the books is a hardcore fan. When I first learned about the sparkling skin, I asked her about and she said she hoped they skipped it since she was convinced there was no way they'd be able to do it right.

I think it was a good movie to someone who didn't read the book. There were so many details that were off it bugged me: Emmett bats first in the baseball game, not Rosalie; Edward is supposed to give Bella his jacket in Port Angeles (THAT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME! xd ); Edward is supposed to tackle Bella onto his couch, not out the window after she says he's not scary, and his carpet is supposed to be gold; Bella is supposed to be wearing one stiletto heel, not one sneaker, with her foot cast at the prom; etc. The big things some of you guys mentioned were also off--how could they leave out blood typing?! And they were not supposed to be cooking anything for Bella when she arrived at the Cullens' house.

Overall, I was very disappointed in the lack of faithfulness to the book. I thought they did fairly well picking out actors and actresses, though. Jasper (although his hair was supposed to be honey blond as opposed to more of just pale blond), Carlisle, and Esme I thought they did especially well choosing, both in looks and acting.

The movie did have some ups, though. My personal favorite part was when Edward and Bella walked into the kitchen to meet his family and Emmett grinned and waved with a huge knife.
