{[Private re-homming of Kuriko.]}
Audley smiled as he pulled a pipping hot tray of fresh muffins from the oven. Blueberry and boysenberry, they smelled wonderful. He could imagine them dripping with fresh butter, and he only offered real butter, and being devoured by happy, smiling customers. He turned to put them on the cooling counter, and promptly tripped over a child. Kuriko.
He cried out in despair as the muffins scattered across the floor, many of them crumbling on impact. He sighed and looked at the brown-haired boy, this was not the first time something of this nature had occurred since Kuriko had been returned to the shop.
Audley had felt good when he'd placed Kuriko's box with a guardian, he'd hoped that the little boy had found a happy home; but error was human, and Kuriko had been returned to the shop and Audley's care. Now, as much as he loved the sweet-smelling child, Audley wished he could find a new home with someone who would love him.
For his part in the disaster, Kuriko simply went silently for the broom and dustpan and began cleaning up the mess he'd help make.
Moonstruck.
