As a young boy watches from the corner of the street, a ship comes crashing into the pier off the coast of New York City. The boy starts running into the shadows, while on board the ship a lone boy comes walking from the wreckage. As a person screams for help, the boy looks up and sees the man who was the first mate of the ship get torn in half. The man thats standing in the mist holding the top half of the captain while biting his neck sees the young boy, whose name was Draven. He drops the captain, grins, and vanishes in to thin air. Suddenly, he grabs Draven from behind. As he levitates up into the air, he brings his fangs close to Draven and says, "Sorry child, i meant you no harm, but for you, a human child, to know of our existence is too great a risk for me and my kind. Well the only thing to do is kill you, but I'm going to let you live on inside of me." As the vampire draws closer to Draven, Draven speaks an ancient tongue of the old world that only vampires know. As the vampire goes to sink his fangs into Draven's flesh, he says the name of the most powerfull vampire in all of time and warns that by drinking his blood he will die as a vampire and be extinguished from the world. The vampire, ignoring the warning, bites Draven and as he sucks his blood. ANd then the unknown power inside of Draven awakens from within and slowly explodes. It sets the vampire's undead soul aflame as if being touched by a holy power from within himself. As the vampire fades away into dust, he lands back down on the deck. He hears a loud thump as if something else hit the deck. He looks up and sees another vampire who looks down at him and says, "You speak the old tongue boy. Tell me, where did you learn to speak the language of the vampires?"
