The main island is where the residents live and go to school, Kairi and Selphie are known to go to the same school. The main island also has a small beach and dock, where Kairi pushes her message in a bottle out of sea during the early events of Kingdom Hearts II. There appears to be a fairly large town in the background, with a long clay path leading to the beach.

Kael walked through the streets of the town located on the main island of the Destiny Islands. It was almost nighttime, but the sun hadn't even started to set yet and Kael said to himself "I better hurry... it's almost nighttime.... I wonder where you are... mother... father... Kira... Alasai... where are you", running down the street to his home. And then he reached his home, located near the beach.
