Spirit Week Winter Break is Dec 19-21. Why SHOULDN'T the GCO take this opportunity to reunite ourselves- while having fun at the same time? For six hours, Spirit Week will be having a Winter Formal and it's a great time to meet up at our chessboard, 4 Barton 001060, and reacquaint ourselves.
I myself don't have any plans for what we'd do there, but perhaps we could host our own little formal (roleplayish?) gathering? Donate to the chess guild mule and maybe buy something to give out as a prize during? Hold a raffle to get people interested?

The idea sounds interesting. I'd like to talk to the GCO again. It's been quite a while. smile
Roleplaying-ish sounds nice. I haven't done somethign related to that in forever.

sorry for posting again but has idea idea idea
chess is all and good( and mabie we could start a chess game during that time and kick it off...
but...
i have one idea and the chess boards would still be in use here.... i give you... arrow arrow arrow
...**drumm roll**...
four way soccer...!
idea of game.... have so many on a team.... there is four (only four) entrances to the chess boards... using the soccer ball for the towns, each team of how many tryes to score in the certin corner...
**able to play with all even numbers and every other for all corners... 2,6,10 etc are only top and botem and side to side... 4,8,12 etc... are all four corners or just side to side with bigger teams...**
who knows? mabie this will be the next big thing...
tell this area with ideas, coments, and creations of other ideas for spirit week!!

Here's what I've got pinned down so far, and I'm not trying to take over, just throwing some stuff out there.
-It's a formal dance/ball. YES, you may bring someone with you as a 'date', even someone not in the guild. But if you bring a non-guild member, try to bring only one. It's kind of a guild thing, I guess.
-Dress up nice. It doesn't have to be chess-themed or even expensive...you can pick up some nice dresses and suits for under 5k.
Males: Polyester Suit/Pants combo (HR Wesley), Zoot Suit outfit (HR Wesley), starter suit
Females: Imperial Queen dress (marketplace), Prom Dresses (HR Wesley), Christian Siriano dresses (Barton Boutique)
-At least one contest will be held, probably a raffle, for this month's sealed envelope. Tickets will be cheap- 100 gold each or something, with maybe fifty slots and a maximum number of tickets you can buy.
(If you would like to donate towards another item for a contest, or if you'd like to run one yourself, if you'd like to hold a drawing for some avatar art, or anything else, contact me over PMs)
-I'm not forcing it, but if you'd like to roleplay, I'd like to strongly suggest all those in attendance to do so. Nothing too formal or stressful- just come chill as your avatar for a few hours.
-I'd also like to suggest the possibility of a Skype (or something similar) conversation in the background. Skype is a free voice chat service that does NOT require a webcam, for those who are concerned. If you'd like to join that as well, please PM me.
-If you have any other ideas for activities, either post here or PM me and we'll chat about it. ^^

Sounds awesome! I'm glad to see that the mule is being used too. That's always good. I hope that we can get a lot of people during this time. I have work on those days so I don't know when I'll be on but I will try to be on skype. biggrin The formal sounds great!
