Let us recap: Courtney has gotten back together with her ex-boyfriend Drake. After their first date, Courtney realizes that Drake is abusive. However, she doesn't want to be boyfriend-less, so she can't break up with him. Meanwhile, Duncan had a dream about Courtney that bothered him so much that he flew from Chicago to Malibu to make sure she was okay. He met up with Geoff, Bridgette, and Gwen who told him that he was doing a noble thing. Before they went their separate ways, Geoff gave Duncan the address of the hospital that his brother works at.(just so you know, both Courtney's and Duncan's story's are on the second night right now.)(NOTE: There is a character here that is from Part 2, so if you forget easily, I would suggest reviewing that chapter) Let us continue with Courtney’s story:

Courtney woke up after crying herself to sleep. She had been out for about hour or so. Then got up from her bed and thought out loud to get her ideas straight.
"Alright Courtney, You can handle this. So Drake is a little rough. Big deal. A lot of guys are rough. Doesn't mean that he doesn't love me, right?" Courtney reached into her pocket and pulled out the wooden skull."I don't know what to do anymore. If I break up with him, I'll be lonely again. But what if I don't?"
Courtney rubbed the wrist the Drake had violently squeezed in the parking lot. She remembered how scared and weak she felt "Well, I just can't break up with him just like that. He might get even angrier and do something even worse to me!"
Courtney thought for a minute, then snapped her fingers and said, "I got it!!! I'll tell one of my friends. They can do it for me. It's a little unorthodox, but I think that under these circumstances, it's understandable, right?"
She went downstairs and went for the phone. She was about to pick it up when it started to ring.
Courtney slowly pick up the phone to answer it, "Hello?"
"Courtney, it's me Tasha."
Courtney's heart breathed a sigh of relief. Now she had the chance to tell her friend about Drake.
"Hey Tasha...." she paused. She knew that now was her chance, but she couldn't form the right words,"....what's up?"
Why didn't I tell her? She thought to herself Okay, I'm gonna tell her this time.
"I'm glad your home." said Tasha, "Me and Lisa heard that you and Drake got back together! Is it true?"
"Oh, yeah. It's true. And......... we are just...*sigh* so happy together."
Why can't I say it. My friends need to know the truth!
"Great! So maybe you and Drake would like to come to the rock concert at the beach tomorrow night. We have extra tickets!"
Courtney knew that it was a bad idea to go out with Drake again, but for some reason that she did not understand, she said, "Yeah, me and Drake would love to go. See you later."
Courtney hung up the phone and went back up to her room. "Why didn't I tell Tasha that Drake was abusive? She would have understood, right?"
Courtney was confused. She knew that there was something keeping her from telling Tasha about Drake. When she tried to tell, she was overcome with fear. She knew something happened. Something happened with Drake, but she couldn't remember. She looked at the wooden skull she still held in her hands. A tear welled up in her eye. "Duncan, I really miss you."
Courtney got back into her bed and drifted off to sleep.
