Calling to a clan meeting
Leader: Let all those cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the [meeting place] for a clan meeting.
Change of Name:
Leader: Spirits of StarClan, you know every cat by name. I ask you now take away the name from the cat you see before you, for it no longer stands for what he/she is. By my authority as Clan leader, and with the approval of our warrior ancestors, I give this cat a new name. From this moment on he/she will be known as [insert new name], [insert reason for name change].”
Leader rests muzzle on warrior’s head and the warrior licks leader’s shoulder respectfully. Then Clan cheers his/her new name.
New Deputy:
Leader: I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice. [name of new deputy] will be the new deputy of [clan name].
The Medicine Cat Ceremony:
Medicine Cat: Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. He/She has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant him/her your wisdom and insight so that he/she may understand your ways and heal his/her Clan in accordance with your will. Crouch down and touch your nose to the stone.
Medicine-Cat-To-Be: I do.
The medicine cat rests his/her muzzle on the top of the new medicine cat's head and the new medicine cat licks his/her shoulder in respect. The other medicine cats chant the new medicine cat's new name.
New Warrior:
Leader: I, [name of leader], leader of [clan name], call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in his/her turn. [Name of Apprentice], do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your life?
Apprentice: I do
Leader: Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior names. [Name of Apprentice], form this moment you will be known as [Name to be changed too]. StarClan honors your bravery and your strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of [clan name].
The leader rests his/her muzzle on the top of the new warrior's head and the new warrior licks his/her shoulder in respect. The rest of the Clan chant the new warrior's new name.
New Apprentice:
Leader to Apprentice: From this day forward, until he/she has earned his/her warrior name, this apprentice will be called [name of apprentice].
Leader to Mentor: [Name of Mentor], you are ready for an apprentice. You will begin [name of apprentice]'s training. [Insert complement for mentor]
The mentor and apprentice then touch noses.
If a dying apprentice is worthy, they can be made into a warrior so that they take a warrior name to Starclan:
Leader: I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He/she has learned the warrior code and has given up her/his life in the service of her Clan. Let StarClan receive him/her as a warrior. He/she will be known as [Insert Warrior name here].
Warrior to Elder:
Leader: [Insert retiring warrior name here], is it your wish to give up the name of warrior and go to join the elders?
Retiring Warrior: It is.
Leader: Your clan honors you and all the service you have given us. I call upon Starclan to give you many seasons of rest.
Medicine Cat Apprentice Cerimony:
Medicine Cat: [Insert name of New apprentice], is it your wish to enter into the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat.?
Medicine Cat Apprentice-to-be: It is.
Medicine Cat: Then come forward.
Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. He/She has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant him/her your wisdom and insight so that he/she may understand your ways and heal his/her Clan in accordance with your will.
The apprentice then lays down beside the Moonstone and touches his/her nose to it.
