My favourite one would be Yavanna, because I love plants and animals, and trees above all 3nodding but it's a difficult choose. Close behind would come Ulmo (I adore water in all of it's forms, specially the ocean) and Nienna (sorrow is such a deep feeling, it hurts but it makes you feel really alive...)

Nienna, she is definately my favorite. Such an interesting tale, when I first read the Silmarillion the sections that referred to her kept becoming my favorites. The idea of Gandalf learning from her makes my day, and she seemed to be always so kind hearted and forgiving. Peace, Syapherian

I'd definately have to go with Ulmo. Melkor fears him in his own right just as much as he fears Manwe or Orome.

I voted Nienna. I like her style and I find her rather mysterious. Second comes Mandos, for (also) his mystery! 3nodding

Varda for me-she is powerful, awe-inspiring, and beautiful. Also she created the stars and she is worshipped by the elves. Yay for literates!

Go read the Silmarillion. Right now. The more you talk the more you seem to not know anything except what the movies tell you.

Well I like most of them lol, but at the moment my favorite is Vaire. It seems almost sad that she spends her time in the Halls of Mandos weaving the stories of middle earth. So I guess she wouldn't really do much else. But I love her!...and her name lol

Melkor! Let's go for teh eeeeevil side! [get flamed]
Well, he seems to be one of the most important characters in Silmarillion... his evil behavior was the cause of the war...
Even Illuvatar knows that Melkor may be mightier than Manwe...
He appears in the story A LOT MORE comparing to other valars... He has lots of issues...
Well, b/c Melkor acted in Middle Earth, Numenor, etc. while other Valars were staying in their own little nice place.
According to the book, he WAS beautiful before he got trapped under the temple dedicated to himself. (even the wise elves were decieved when he was in a fair form)

My favorite is actually split between the Sisters, Yavanna and Vanna. I am a nature nut and I can never really decide between the two.
