I just want to ask everyone, why do you use the characters you do? I mean, I know many people switch between different characters, but most people tend to have a favored archetype of some sort. I actually use the same character for almost everything (though Zion's multifaceted personality kinda makes up for it).
Personally, Zion is an exaggerated version of myself. I take a lot of my own qualities and stretch them a little, and you end up getting Zion. Religious, intelligent, crafty, heroic, compassionate, and charming. He can also be a little arrogant, like me.
Many people use characters to express feelings they suppress. I don't suppress my feelings, which is why I chose to simply exaggerate my qualities.

I have a lot of different characters that I use. But I have noticed that I don't RP girls very often. I have no idea why yet. XD

I have a dedication to combative arts, a Hero complex that borders on a messiah complex, and no small attraction to super powers and ability's. Nuff said.
(100 Gold to the first person that can PM me and accurately tell me where I got that last line from.)

I think I have an idea of who might have said that, but I ain't sure.
Hero complexes are fun. Living in a generation where most of my peers identify with villains and psychopaths more than heroes, it's a nice change of pace.

Tell me about it. Means there's never a shortage of opponents. Like just tonight for example, I got physically attacked.

No, I've got the real life bruises and everything. And I'm pretty sure I've never RP'd shopping at target with my mom and unarmed at her insistence that I wouldn't need to defend myself.

Yeah, I once punched a guy in the face because he was cussing some little kid out. I ended up getting jumped by three of his friends, though. I managed to bust one up pretty bad, though. That's martial arts training for ya.

Mace is good, martial arts is usually better. In this case, since I was unarmed, I had to make do with the latter.
I did get lucky that there where only the two of them and that neither of them seemed to have much real experience or any training. They where fairly big and out numbered me, they thought it would make them real tough. Up till then, that maybe that approach had done just that.
And for the record, I did not swing first, not my generally preferred method.

There are lots of moves for taking down opponents larger than yourself.
Ever watch Human Weapon? That s**t is the bomb. I sometimes use moves I just saw on there, especially with that episode on pankration.

Not familiar with it. And I know that, and at this point I'm guessing they do to.

I rp the bad guys and the twisted, sadistic freaks most people just love to hate. I started rping years ago and immediately latched onto the villains and badasses because they allow me to act out all the things that go through my mind when I have to deal with people in the real world. Before rp I used to be unable to control my anger and would lash out and hurt people. Now I save it all and instead of hitting people in the real world, I maim or kill in the virtual world. Cheaper, more successful, and more fun than any therapy session I've ever been to. My most successful rps are based in anime or videogames. I take a character and run with it. Astaroth from Angel Sanctuary, Albel Nox from Star Ocean, and recently Squalo from Katekyo Hitman Reborn! are my most notable characters. I would post links to them, but I made them xanga locked because my college/future employers really don't need to see the sort of stuff I write. I have trouble rping my own gender, so you will never see me on a female character. I also suck at making characters completely from scratch. I can take an existing character I know little about and do wonders though.
