The Sharingan is a special kind of pupil in the eye that some members of the legendary Uchiha clan possess. Among the many abilities the Sharingan gives to the user, the most well known is the capability to memorize any technique that is viewed by the unique eye, these include Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Taijutsu. The only techniques it cannot copy are the ones that are limited to any other special bloodline. When a specific technique has been copied it can be used perfectly by the user. Another advantage of the Sharingan is the ability to see through any illusionary techniques. Unfortunately a huge weakness of the Sharingan is when it is being used chakra is drained rapidly from the user so in order to use the techniques that it has copied, a large amount of training has to be done to acquire the strength and stamina needed to perform the technique. It is thought that the Sharingan evolved from the Byakugan which is the Hyuuga clans bloodline limit.

Byakugan is a special eye trait limited to Hyuuga Clan members. When this Bloodline Limit is used a strain is forced around the eye below the temple towards the ears. There's a noticeable difference on the user's face: blood vessels appear to be pulsating through the skin. The user of this Bloodline Limit is capable of turning it on or off at will (after originally performing the hand seals). It appears as though its use has no negative physical effect on the user, but it is not known what kind of effect is placed on the eye after being used for a prolonged period of time.
When the user activates Byakugan, the user gains exceptional vision. This new vision allows the user to view an opponents Chakra circulatory system. The user also has a field of vision, which is almost 360 degrees, minimizing the blind spot. In addition to this, the users range of vision can increase over a very long distance. The strength of this vision may depend on the ability of the user. The increase in range of vision complements the new field of vision. This allows the user to detect, without effort, any action within a 15m radius (the small blind spot is counted as an exception). The Byakugan user boasts an advantage in the field of close combat due to the vision and sense of nearby surroundings he/she has.
After activating Byakugan, the user can perform Jyuuken (Gentle Fist). The level of Jyuuken performed depends on the ability of the user and the strength of the user's Byakugan. A skilled Byakugan user may use Jyuuken to seek an opponents Chakra holes (Tenketsu) and attack the Chakra circulatory system directly by making then it target of a Jyuuken attack. A highly skilled Byakugan user is capable of damaging all of the opponents Chakra holes and potentially shutting down the opponents Chakra circulatory system.

Haku's kekkei genkai, Hyoton allowed him to combine wind and water-based chakra to create ice, which he could manipulate through willpower alone, as seen in the anime from a flashback where he was manipulating water in his hands and again when he uses water to create a field of icicles through his house by freezing water.
Using his special ability, Haku developed a number of powerful techniques. His most powerful technique, Demonic Ice Mirrors, allowed him to surround an opponent with an array of ice mirrors and attack them at an incredible speed. He also developed Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death, which only required one hand to perform the seals. With it, he could create a thousand needles out of water and send them flying at his opponent.

Introduced in the filler saga of the anime, every few generations a member of the Kurama clan will be born with an incredible talent for genjutsu. The clan member's talent in that field is such that their genjutsu is completely irresistible, so much so that only knocking a person out cold has any chance of awakening them from it. Furthermore, the genjutsu is so powerful that it literally convinces the brain to copy anything that happens to the victim within the genjutsu, making it possible for the clan member to kill their opponents with genjutsu. Such frightening power is not without its drawbacks, however. The user can rarely control the full extent of their abilities, and as such their subconscious will often regulate that power, leading to the creation of a second personality in control of that power. This personality then overwhelms the original, turning the individual into a monster that's a danger to everyone around them.

The Mokuton techniques are initially used by the First Hokage, and it is said that because of his unique ability he was chosen as the first, and that he used his wood type techniques to create Konoha village. Yamato, who received DNA from the first as a result of an experiment done by Orochimaru, also demonstrates the ability to use Mokuton jutsu. Mokuton techniques are performed by combining earth and water-based chakra simultaneously, thus causing trees to grow from any location the user wishes (including himself, as demonstrated by Yamato's ability to branch wood clones off of himself). The shape can also be controlled to a fine degree, allowing makeshift structures to be grown quickly in battle. During a mission with Team 7, Yamato actually grew the team a log house using his Mokuton ability for camping purposes.
A secondary, and not necessarily related, skill is the First's ability to control tailed beasts, which Yamato also gained. With this ability, Yamato can forcibly reverse Naruto's Demon fox transformation. Tsunade's incredibly valuable necklace, which Naruto currently possesses, is said to help enhance this particular skill.

Its power is said to be enough to save or destroy the world, although what sort of powers and techniques this entails have not been stated. It was first possessed by the Sage of the Six Paths, said to be the founder of the ninja world. The first ninjutsu were derived from his abilities. Pein, the current and only known user of the bloodline, first activated it during his childhood to save one of his friends, Yahiko and is also noted by Konan that Pein has never lost a battle probably referring to his Rinnegan eyes.

Shikotsumyaku is the kekkei genkai of the extinct Kaguya clan, which gave them the frightening ability to manipulate their own skeletal structure. They had free control over the cells responsible for bone growth and replacement, allowing them to manipulate their bones at will. They could protrude their bones out through their skin, change their bone density, and could even completely regenerate a lost bone. All this makes their bodies virtually indestructible, and any point of contact on the body could become as sharp as a spear tip, giving them a nearly perfect defense. The Kaguya clan utilizes this ability in their many sword dances, named after flowers or plants, usually creating a variety of bone weapons that were used in conjunction with powerful and graceful taijutsu movements. The ability seems to be rare amongst the clan members, as Kimimaro Kaguya was the only one to exhibit it out of his entire clan.
