Arguably the most famous attraction in Mahora, the Chao Bao Zi restaurant is a mobile tram car run by Class 2-A members Chao Lingshen, Satsuki Yotsuba, Ku Fei, Satomi Hakase, and Chachamaru Karakuri. Chao Bao Zi is completely student-run, with all profits from sales going to the Culinary Research Club. Famous primarily for its specialty, the baozi meat buns, the Chao Bao Zi also serves a variety of Eastern and Western foods, the service and quality of which rivals that seen in any five-star restaurant.

The sun shone down on the sidewalk as a young Mahora student walked down the path with the intent of getting something to eat. Having been rather hungry, she felt some fresh and hot meat buns would do her some good in the belly, and she could catch up on some reading.
After ordering the food at the stand, she sat down at a nearby picnic bench, opening her book and waiting for her food to be ready. Perhaps today would be a good day after all... She was disappointed in the other students she had encountered previous to coming to the stand. It was the first time she'd ever wanted to make friends, due to the paranormal vibes she received from them... but on the contrary, they seemed to have no interest in her. It was a pity.... such a big campus, but no one to talk too.

Mizuki had finally gotten enough practice done for now. It was time to eat! She strolled down the sidewalk and looked over to where she saw Chao Bao Zi. A smile appeared on her face as she raced over to the cart and ordered a meal.
While she waited, she wandered around the area and saw a somewhat familiar face. It was te girl from before. Mizuki had seen the girl with the group of others not long ago. Though right now, she seemed a bit down... Right when she thought that, it had began to rain.
"How wonderful." She commented silently to herself.

"I missed breakfast," Yuuna muttered miserably as she trudged to the Chao Bao Zi. Because of that occurrence, she'd been starving throughout the morning meeting of the Military Enthusiasts' Club. Fortunately, there were a couple hours of break between the MMEC meeting and the Fireteam Charlie meeting in the afternoon.
"At least I missed the lunch rush, thank God," she mused as the rain began to pelt her. She sighed, and was suddenly thankful she'd brought along her ODST windbreaker.

"What a miserable storm." Keiji mumbled under his breath, his MP3 player tucked away into a pocket now. It had been a while since he'd left Saga-sensei behind and he'd woven his way through the campus grounds, before finally managing to wander across the Chao Bao Zi.
Wishing sincerely that he'd brought an overcoat after his brief trip back to his dormitory, or at least a collapsible umbrella with him, he headed toward the restaurant. He had a melancholy expression on his face. He'd almost been clocked with a milk bottle, and despite all ideas to the contrary, that sort of thing was, and could be extremely painful for someone even with a suitably hard head.
Glancing upward at the raid, he instead played at stepping between drops, though he failed as he made his way up toward the counter. Once his food had been ordered he grabbed the nearest bench, to wait, tipping his head back to let the drizzle run down his face.
Reaching upward to brush a stray damp strand of hair from his eyes, he glanced around at the other occupants of the area. Two, he knew. Mizuki-chan, and the girl whose name he didn't recall getting. The third though, he was clueless on.
And so, by way of a greeting, he lifted a hand in a two-fingered salute, toward Yuuna, once she was in sight range of him.

She'd gotten her lunch and headed over to a covered bench to sit and eat, leaning her airsoft BR55 mockup against the seat beside her. In any other school or city, she'd be getting a lot of funny looks, and probably into plenty of trouble with the law, concerning the accurate-looking weapon, but here in Mahora, the existence of the MMEC-FC, and the fact that they regularly toted airsoft guns around to group meetings, was common knowledge.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a sudden movement, her gamers' instinct drawing her attention in that direction, in time to see that guy who she'd never seen before wave to her. She froze briefly, in mid-chew even, as she pondered over his identity. After a moment, she decided it didn't matter; either he'd noticed her because of her uniform and the airsoft gun, or he'd noticed her because she was damn fine. Either way. She nodded in return to his wave, then continued eating. She checked her watch; still had about half an hour until it was time to head back to the university for the Fireteam Charlie meeting; and yeah, they were going to have drill practice even in the rain.

He stood after several moments, and wandered over, tray of food in hand, a pleasant smile on his face, despite all of the water dripping from his hair, sending an almost pleading glance toward her.
"Mind if I have a seat? No one should be eating alone on a day like this," He smiled, that sort of distant expression still on his face. He was entirely prepared for rejection. Hell, he'd reject him if he came up and asked himself if he could sit down. That sort of thing just happened. While dining with a female wouldn't exactly be his preference, it would work to get him out of the rain, and let him meet more of the students here at the school.

She leaned her head to her right, gesturing to the open side of the bench beside her. "Go ahead, there's plenty of room." Sure, her friends and classmates knew her as a spirited, outgoing individual, but that didn't mean she was stupid. She wasn't about to cozy up to somebody she didn't know; that was how one got in trouble, or worse. Besides, she'd made that mistake before, and it was still a bad memory.

"Thank you." Keiji slid down into the offered seat, flashing a brief smile.
"Sorry if I seemed rude just asking like that. I was hoping I could get a seat out of the rain, and some pleasant company as well." He reached upward after setting his tray down, slicking back his dyed blue hair from his face.
"Nakamura Keiji, by the way. You?" a questioning glance, his head tipped just slightly.

She shook her head and shrugged, idly watching the patterns of the rain falling upon and trailing off of her boots, which she had stretched out into the falling water, not bothering to concern with keeping them dry. They were waterproof anyway (and steel-toed, after a certain event involving a commuter train to Harajuku).
"Akashi Yuuna," she answered in between bites of her meatbun. "Basketball ace and MMEC-FC." This came with her trademark grin; she was proud of her talents and accomplishments, if nothing else.

"Nice to meet you then, Akashi-kun." He settled back to eat his meal silently, before piping up after a time.
"MMEC?" a brief glance. He'd assumed it was something to do with one of the clubs, and it was better to ask than remain in ignorance.

"Mahora Military Enthusiasts' Club," she filled in as she idly pulled a section of the meat bun off and twirled it between her fingers for a moment, then stuffed it in her mouth. "We're sort of an unofficial ROTC..." And then she realized that he might not know what ROTC stands for. "Uhh..Well, we just all like the military. I imagine you get the picture."

"R.O.T.C. I know what that stands for." He nodded just slightly, digging into his own meat bun almost idly, seeming more preoccupied with the conversation than the food.
The food was tasty, mind you, but he was the type that was easily distracted, as much as anyone could expect, anyway.
"So, Akashi-kun, what do you do at the MMEC, exactly? Do you do just sit around and talk about the military, or is there more to it?" He was curious, and this was as safe a topic as he could figure on for the moment.

"We do drill formations every week, and paintball or airsoft war games once or twice a month." She reached her left hand down and grabbed her airsoft battle rifle, pulling it up and laying it across her lap. "We have staff jobs too, just like any other ROTC."

"I see." He nodded just slightly, seeming to mull that over in his head. "It sounds interesting, though not something I think I could do. I prefer things of a less.. militant? Is that even the right word? Nature. But it does sound interesting. Maybe I could sit in on the club one day, and see how things work. Especially since I haven't chosen any clubs yet."
He went silent then, and seemed to be pondering over that in his head. He was always prime for learning new things, but this was a little beyond his scope, though he'd be willing to sit and learn, as he'd said. He was never good with weaponry, in fact, his sister swore he was cursed when it came to anything electronic that wasn't his MP3 player, a basic computer, or a cooking appliance.
