Cesar Godoy Delgado now regular starter for Olympique Lyonais. After a disappointing first season Chelito named starter in French First Division. Maradona has selected him to the Argentinian Soccer National Team.

Landon Donovan takes a trip to Munich, Germany for a 30 day training camp. Evaluation from Bayern Munich and from head coach obvious. Donovan might have had his last season in MLS and now sees a realistic move back to Germany with current giants Bayern. xd

ok i see the second part, but what does the first part have to do with MLS? if you want to post stuff about other leagues that has ABSOLUTELY nothing with MLS, request a subforum for other leagues.

Tons of rumours for Landon. Sounds like he and Jorgon want him to join the team, but it is a wait and see. I am curious to see if Landon can handle another trip to Europe as the other two are seen as failures. Bruce Arena keeps saying Landon will be back for LA.

It must be an interesting/frustrating season for Galaxy fans.

If Donovan does end up going to munich i see it as a lose lose situation. Donovan gets signed doesn't play doesn't prove he can perform in the league goes to different club and does horrible for lack of playtime, and meanwhile the galaxy are suffering even worse cuz beckham has no one anywhere near his caliber to play with.

Landon gone?

Looks like Landon will be loaned out, they are hammering out the length of the deal. He might have a deal like Becks where he comes back for part or all of the mls season. If Landon doesn't make it work well this time in Germany, it will be a black mark on his career.

yeah i saw another version of that article on my "My Yahoo" page.

Really i think it would be a good idea for anyone in MLS who got asked for a loan deal during the offseason to do it. I mean it keeps them in shape, and they get our league noticed cause they are going to be known as "one of the American league players on loan to 'us'" by the fans of whatever team they're going to.

oh...my My Yahoo! page didn't even tell me that he was going on loan until today...you've already got that he wants it permanent.

It is probably a good thing for the National team if Landon does well over there and gets motivated. But it is not so great for MLS since we are losing him

But the National Team is more important...they start getting good and getting noticed, people don't keep thinking we have sucky "football" over here.

I am not sure if we ever won't be looked down upon by other countries for our play on the pitch. Some people will always be determined to find a fault. The national team is important.

MLS is important too, in terms of the big picture of player development. In 5-10 years, will it have made a big difference if Donovan stayed in MLS? Probably not. I think short term it hurts and it hurts the Galaxy. They have to try and sell tickets without knowing for sure if Landon will be back. Soccer is a tough enough of a sell made even more difficult.

My big worry is that Landon will go bust in Germany. That will be an embarrassment to him, the national team and MLS. I hope he does well

We probably won't, but at least we won't be looked down on as much.

Yeah but it is really rare for players that started in MLS to end up in the bigi name teams. Its only slowly coming less so, but many of the players that end up in europe or anywhere else are barely noticed.

He's already gone and failed once, but he was younger so it wasn't wasn't such a big deal. I just hope that it doesn't happen again.
