Dear Applicant,
Welcome to Hakuya Academy! This renowned institution, founded by the great Lord Adrian in the late 1800s, has served as a cornerstone of the supernatural world since its inception. Here, supernatural entities of all varieties are educated and trained not only in basic forms of knowledge, but also in the advanced application of their individual talents to life in both the supernatural and human worlds. Although we are aware that tensions are high and there are currently restrictions on transit between the human world and the island of supernaturals, we believe that our students should be prepared for any eventuality. We accept only individuals of significant intellectual and/or supernatural talent, so we have the utmost faith in each of our students.
Upon acceptance to Hakuya Academy, each student is assigned to one of the four dormitories located within walking distance in each of the cardinal directions. Each dormitory-- Suzaku, Seiryuu, Byakko, and Genbu-- carries an elemental affinity and the blessing of its guardian deity, so we advise that you make your selection wisely. Altering your position afterwards will prove... difficult. Once your house has been selected, you will be issued a gemstone (usually mounted on a piece of jewelry, such as a pendant) that will act as a key to the building's magic seal as well as that of your room.
The brightest and most talented of the Hakuya elite may be accepted into the Koryu program, which serves as a combination of an honors division for the gifted and a governing council for the student body at large. Each house also has a student council, but they are for the most part subordinate to Koryu. Admission into the Koryu program does not begin until you are in your second year, but keep it in mind if you are interested.

 Name: Arashi "Ari" Kuroda Age: 14 Species: Human (Spirit Summoner) Biographical Details: Ari Kuroda has had a long-standing fascination with the concept of black magic. In her experimentations with the art, she suddenly discovered that, while she is not suited to perfecting potions or casting curses, she is ideally suited for dealing in spirits. Ever since she discovered her abilities, she has almost constantly been accompanied by a ghost who she knows only as "Damien." Despite typical teenage demands for personal space, Ari only seems to be annoyed with Damien's presence because of how little he speaks, especially about himself. Ari is also a devoted younger sister but she frequently finds herself getting annoyed with her brother Teru.  Name: Teru Kuroda Age: 18 Species: Vampire Biographical Details: Teru Kuroda, Ari's elder brother, is also going through his first year at the academy, because he is a freshly-turned vampire. Like his sister, Teru has also had a powerful fascination with the dark arts since before he can remember but nothing ever came of it. However, having no abilities in the field of black magic has yet to stop him from dressing up in black robes and cheerfully begging his sister to join him in a black mass, despite the fact that she managed to get him to confess that he has no idea what a black mass is at all or how to perform one. Teru is the type of person where even their enemies secretly like them too.  Name: "Damien" Age: Unknown Species: Ghost Biographical Details: Damien has been with Ari for years but he barely speaks to her. This is not out of distain but rather just because Damien doesn't like to talk, especially about personal matters. As such, he completely avoids talking to anyone at the academy besides the Kuroda siblings and has barely even said two words to Teru. Damien hates nothing more than being asked why he stays with Ari. Ari has caught him on several occasions, mumbling to himself, "Doushite...?" which could perhaps mean that even he does not actually know why he is with her. However, Damien refuses to talk about it. On a side note, despite the fact that he purports his name is "Damien, just Damien," Ari believes it must be an alias, because he seems to be a native Japanese and Damien is not a Japanese name.  Name: Hisoka Tsukishiro Age: 17 Species: Dream-Eating Demon Biographical Details: Ever since starting at Hakuya Academy, Hisoka has learned not to get attached to his roommates. For him, roommates seem to change with the days of the week, either because he's too abrasive or they can't handle sharing a room with a dream eater. His current roommate, though, has lasted much longer than expected. Hisoka has formed a simbiotic relationship with Teru - Teru provides him with sustinance and Hisoka rids Teru of his deliciously dreadful nightmares. Hisoka is usually cold and open about his harsh opinions of people and the world around him; however, ever since Teru became his roommate, Hisoka's been keeping more and more of his thoughts to himself, afraid of upsetting Teru. Hisoka has taken quite a strong interest in Teru's sister's companion Damien as well, questioning whether ghosts like him have dreams, "because I bet they're so tasty it's to die for...." ((Adding a new one. Haven't gotten an ID together yet. On a side note, if anything here sounds odd, forgive me. I'm sick and half asleep.)) Name: Keitaro Gensou Age: 15 Class: Sophomore Species: Tengu Description: Silver hair, navy eyes - that's all I've got so far. Bio: Keitaro Gensou is the youngest of three brothers, all of whom are members of Koryu. His brothers, Kotaro and Kojiro Gensou of the senior and junior class, have taught him to be a good person, though Kotaro has also taught him to be a real jokester. Keitaro really looks up to his brothers and as such he even emulates their behavior. When Kojiro and Kotaro decided to start attending classes in humanoid form, Keitaro too started attending in humanoid form. While he has his own personality on his own, Keitaro tends to act just like his brothers when he's with them.

Name: Freya Alcotte Age: 17 Species: Human -- Paper Master Description:  Biographical Details: Raised by affluent parents who are too conscious of how they appear to the public, Freya had been raised carefully in order to be the child they would be proud to have. Whether Freya was happy or not about it is unknown, as no comment about it has ever been heard. Though quite demure and elegant, Freya's paper master skills are something that are not to be trifled with. While it would seem to most that Freya's good academic standing lacked in effort, she does try hard to maintain it. She's amiable enough to most -- provided the impression the other made on her wasn't anything bad -- but she's been known to keep her distance at times. Name: Alexis Divane Age: 16 Species: Human -- Astral Projector Description:  Biographical Details: Coming from the same family as Freya, Alexis' parents expect the same from him as Freya's parents expect from her... Except that he doesn't feel the need to fulfill those wishes, even though his grades pass for good and practical application of his talents seem more than average. Just because he looks mature doesn't mean he always is. For all his attitude, he clings to his older cousin's skirts to the point of being overprotective. He himself knows that that attitude of his keeps people away from her, but he doesn't care. He can be mean to most people who approach him, but he means well. Or so Freya says.

Despite being easily flustered, she hides an inner confidence that arises when the situation demands it. Her (now-deceased) father was human and had some magical talent, though he was unaware of it.

Kotaro Gensou

Description: White hair, grey eyes, tan skin.
Dorm: Seiryuu
Bio: Kotaro, the eldest of the three Gensou brothers, is the next in line for their father Soujoubou's title as Daitengu of Mt. Kurama. As such, he takes his studies very seriously, which got him into the Koryu program. However, while very studious, Kotaro also feels a pretty strong compulsion to pick on people, especially his dear friend Wakaba from the junior year. Kotaro is a great friend to those who know him well and a good friend to those who don't really know him at all but a terrifying rival to those who dare to cross him.

Bio: Kojiro, the middle brother, is very different from the others. He's quiet, calm, and reserved. He doesn't enjoy teasing people, like the others do, and he frequently tries to get Kotaro to stop picking on Wakaba. However, he does have a slight penchant for teasingly nitpicking Keitaro's behavior. Kojiro, while generally calm and quiet, gets really excited and a bit cocky if he's about to enter a fight.

Description: Curly orange hair, orange eyes, pale skin, looks too young even for 16.

Bio: Wakaba is a spiritually-attuned human. She was originally living as a miko in a shrine on Mt. Kurama, but the senior cleric of the shrine sent her off to Hakuya, because she recognized her powers and felt it was important that Wakaba learn to use her abilities to the fullest extent in an open environment. Wakaba quickly befriended the Gensou brothers and spends a good deal of her out-of-class time with them, though Kotaro makes fun of her. She is also good friends with Hajime Terazuma; her relationship with him is the subject of most of Kotaro's teasing.
Hajime Terazuma / Kagan Kuroshuki

Description: Black hair, red eyes, curious markings on his face, slightly pointed ears.
Dorm: Byakko
Bio: Hajime Terazuma was an ordinary boy until he was suddenly possessed by the powerful hellhound, Kagan Kuroshuki. Once possessed, Hajime's appearance changed - his eyes turned red like a hellhound's, markings emerged on his face, and his ears grew slightly pointed. His family quickly shipped him off to Hakuya after another side-effect of the possession became apparent - namely, a transformation into a large black (sometimes fire-breathing) dog. Ever since, he's begrudgingly been attending co-ed classes at Hakuya (his issue with being in a classroom with women is that a woman's touch frequently transforms him, not that he ever got along with women all that well in the first place). His only real friend is Wakaba Kannuki, though he has been known to hang around with the Gensou brothers on occasion, albeit usually against his will.

"Hey, Teru," Hisoka Tsukishiro stood above his roommate's bed, looking rather annoyed. He lifted a foot and nudged the Kuroda boy rather harshly in the backside. "Wake up already. It's almost time for class and I need breakfast."
The raven-haired boy rolled over with a whimper and Hisoka could see tears in his eyes. Hisoka smirked and licked his lips - this nightmare was definitely going to be a tasty one. "Come on. Get up already. I'm hungry."
Red-brown eyes slowly awakened to the world as Teru lifted his hand to wipe away the tears. The second Teru woke up, Hisoka reached down and extracted the nightmare from him. Placing the small orb into his mouth, he looked down at his roommate. "There. No more nightmare, no more tears, right? We ready to go to class now?"
"Class time already...?" Teru asked dazedly.
"Yeah, so get up," Hisoka ordered. He walked over to where they kept their book bags and threw Teru's at him. "And next time you have a nightmare, try to incorporate some more blood - it tastes so much better that way."
"Sorry," Teru frowned a little and got out of bed. He walked over to the closet to go get dressed.
"Hey. This nightmare of yours," Hisoka started. "You've been having basically the same one over and over again with add-ons each night, right?"
"So I take it that means when you consume my nightmares, you learn their content?" Teru asked.
"Would you like me to do something about it? I mean, I may end up killing off my own food source if you end up not having any more nightmares but I could enter your dreams tonight and help you put an end to it," Hisoka offered.
"You... you'd really help me?" Teru turned around, beaming.
Hisoka blushed as an agitated look crossed his face. "What's that look for?!"
"Oh Hisoka! You're the best friend a guy could ever have!" Teru lunged at him with a hug. The two boys fell to the floor with a loud crash.
"Get off of me!" Hisoka snapped. "Can't you at least finish putting your damned clothes on before going into your crazy hyper mode!?"
Teru's eyes watered and he bit his lip, frowning. "I'm sorry...."
Hisoka felt a sudden twinge deep in his gut. He never felt guilty about upsetting his roommates before but Teru was different. "Never mind," he heaved a sigh. "Just forget it. Go hurry up and get dressed."
Teru nodded and rushed back to the closet to finish dressing. "So you can really help me?"
"I've done it before. It's not that big of a deal. It only becomes a problem if you stop having nightmares altogether," Hisoka explained. "Then I'll have to eat your pleasant dreams, which aren't anywhere near as tasty."
"Thanks, Hisoka," Teru smiled as he picked up his book bag and headed over toward the door. "Let's go."
"It's hard to believe you're a year ahead of me," Hisoka gave an agitated sigh. “You’re such a child….”
"Doushite...?" Damien whispered to himself. He sat at the table with his head in his hand.
"Why what, Damien?" Ari asked, leaning over his shoulder. Damien just shook his head. Ari sighed. "If you don't want to say, then don't ask why in the first place."
"Ready for class?" Damien asked quietly.
"More than you. Go get changed into your uniform," Ari insisted. "Class will be starting soon and whether you're actually a student or not you still should be in uniform."
Damien stood up without a word and headed toward his closet. Each move required a bit of effort, since his incorporeal form was not actually made to routinely handle physical objects, but he had gotten it down to a minimal effort. He pushed open the closet door and pulled out his uniform.
Ari turned away and walked back to her closet to get her shoes. She finished dressing and sighed. "There. All done. Hurry up, Damien. It's almost time for class."
"Working on it," Damien replied.
"I hope Teru managed to drag himself out of bed. Otherwise, he's going to be late," Ari said.
"Hisoka woke him."
"You're sure?" Ari asked as she turned to look at him.
Damien nodded as he buttoned up his shirt. He finished getting dressed. "Ready." He picked up her book bag for her and waited by the door.
"Alright," Ari rushed over and took her bag from him with a smile. "Let's get to class."

"Kotaro, Keitaro, get up," Kojiro called monotonously as he buttoned up his shirt.
Kotaro rolled over with a loud moan of "Just five more minutes..."
"In five minutes, the first bell will ring," Kojiro insisted. "Now get up you two."
Kotaro finally sat up, though still half-asleep. Keitaro was still snoring away though. "Why're you waking us up so late?" Kotaro grumbled, scratching the back of his head.
"I tried several times already," Kojiro insisted calmly. "You just snore right on through every warning I give."
"Maybe if you weren't so quiet," Kotaro insisted. Pulling himself out of bed, he gave Keitaro a nudge. "Yo, Keitaro, wake up!"
Keitaro rolled over, thereby rolling off the bed. "Ow..."
"See? Like that," Kotaro insisted with a grin.
"Just get dressed," Kojiro changed the subject back. "It's nearly time for class."
"Already?" Keitaro questioned.
"I think we need to stop procrastinating on homework. All these late-nighters are really getting to us," Kotaro argued as he went over to the closet to start changing. "Here, Keitaro," he called, tossing his uniform over to him.
"Thanks," Keitaro mumbled, struggling in his half-awake state with which leg went in which pantleg.
"If you two could just do assignments when they're assigned like I do," Kojiro stated simply, "then you'd always be in bed by ten thirty."
"Yeah, yeah, spare us the lecture," Keitaro insisted. "We don't have much time to get ready for class." He buttoned up his jacket and glanced over at the clock. "Great. I don't have time to brush my hair, do I?"
"Not a chance," Kotaro replied. "Now hurry up."
"You're not really one to talk, Kotaro," Kojiro argued as he stood by the doorway, fully dressed with his hair brushed, his face washed, and a book bag in his hand.
"They have a word for people like you, you know," Kotaro said, picking up his bag and heading for the door. "It's a teacher's pet."
"That's two words, Kotaro," Kojiro replied, opening the door. He stepped out into the hall, followed by Kotaro.
"Hey, wait for me!" Keitaro called, stumbling out into the hallway.
"HAJIME~!" Wakaba called loudly as she knocked on his door. "Hajime, are you awake? Class is going to start soon! You'd better get ready, Hajime!" She paused for a moment to listen for a reply... but there was nothing. She heaved a sigh. "We're going to be late..." she mumbled, leaning against the windowsill. As she debated whether or not to start yelling again, Wakaba just happened to look out the window. There, down by the trees near the back entrance of the Byakko dorms, was Hajime Terazuma, sneeking in a morning cigarette. "Ha-ji-me..." Wakaba stormed off toward the staircase.
"Hajime, what do you think you're doing?" Wakaba demanded, rushing over to him once she got outside.
"Smoking. What does it look like?" Hajime responded bluntly.
"We're going to be late for class, Hajime," Wakaba informed him.
"And?" Hajime cocked an eyebrow.
"And I've been knocking on your door for a good ten minutes now, so let's hurry up and get to class," she insisted, grabbing his wrist. She started to drag him away. "Besides, you shouldn't be smoking, Hajime. Not only is it against the rules - it's bad for your health too."
"Let me go, Wakaba!" Hajime snapped, trying to pry his wrist from her clutches.
"Not a chance in hell, Hajime. You're getting to class on time come hell or high water, whether you like it or not," she responded.

A few minutes before the bell, and Freya was where she was supposed to be -- the hall. There was no hurry in her pace, no anxiety to be seen in her face. She will be on time. The paper master had been awake for a good hour or so, after all, and so had the young man beside her, if not earlier.
Indeed, it.. surprised Freya how her cousin could be already awake and dressed whenever she went down from her dormitory. Their difference in living quarters wasn't stopping him from waiting for her to come down and have breakfast together. It was... actually worse back home. Alexis would have been sleeping in the same room as Freya if it hadn't been improper to do so.
As they greeted those they recognized from the other students around them, Alexis was surprised when Freya pulled him aside to lean against one of walls of the hall looking out to the grounds.
"We have time." Was her short explanation, and Alexis would never deny her. For a long time the paper master looked out the window, staring at something. It took Alexis a while to realize and remember that his cousin didn't like walking through crowded halls. But as always, they'd make it in time. Unless something unexpected happened.

Sakura wakes up from the loud noise coming from below, she looks and sees her roommate sasha singing loudly, which is very loud because she happens to be a banshee
"Sasha...what did I say about keeping your voice down in the mornings"
sakura shuts her eyes and yawns losing her ballence and falls off the bed with a thud.
"Seems like you're having a good day" Sasha laughs. Sakura glares then pouts at her.
"Get ready for school already...." Sakura puts on the uniform and grabs her bag leaving without her roommate.
Kit slowly opens her golden eyes andrelizez its morning, pulling her blanket overher head she praysit to turn to night again.
"ugh...make it go away" She then relizez that she has no one to complain to, because she doesnt have a roommate, she then flips off the bed and lands perfectly on her feet, smiling, even tho she is dead tired, goes to her uniform and dresses.
"I make this look good" She says laughing to herself in the mirror then grabs her books and a chocolate bar from her stash, then leaves her room.
Nemo sits in his room at the window watchinf the birds going by as if he's in a different world. His roommate sturs then wakes up slowly.
"Ugh you are up early Nemo...do you actually like mornings?"
Nemo looks coldly out the windo.
"I hate this school.."
Nan his roomate pouts at Nemo, then why'd you get up so early for it, you're already dressed and ready to go."
Nan gets gets up and changes into his uniform,Nan being a kitsune, he has fox ears and a tal, Nemo looks at his tail and smiles.
"Hurry up, lets go" They both leave.
Lillith looks up at her roomates bunk abover hers wondering if he will ever get up.
'You get up!" She says quietly, she hears the boy mumble.
"Brian you are gonna be late..." She gets up and changes not caring if Brian sees her or not.
"brian get up please, you shouldn't have been up half the night reading....I warned you...."
Brian ignores her, so she takes her hand, aims itat brian then blows,he's liftedcoff the bed and is dropped on the floor hard.

Biographical Details*: As a Chinese dragon Keiran has the ability to change from his normal form to human form at will so that he can live a normal life. He has spent most of his time with Chinese monks so as to better appreciate life. He is very calm but enjoys sparring using a mix of Kung Fu and Muay Thai. His hair is red and his eyes are a nice gold.

Keiran slowly walked down the hallway taking in the sights as he did so. Watching people rushing to class was normally quite amusing. Today it was no different. Everywhere he looked students were going insane. He couldn't help but grin and laugh.
Unfortunately for him, his laugh had attracted unwanted attention. A hall monitor walked towards him at a brisk pace. "Dresscode violation, our uniforms are required to be worn by all students to class. You are no exception."
Keiran adjusted his sunglasses slightly and took a look at his own clothing. "Looks fine to me, nothing too short nor is there anything profane on my attire. I don't own a uniform anyways."
The hall monitor sighed. "And how long will it be before you have a uniform?"
Keiran smiled. "Probably never. Anyways, gotta go to class. See ya." He then brushed past the now highly annoyed monitor as he made his way down the hall.

When lunch time arrived, Kotaro and Kojiro headed out to the regular meeting spot. Waiting for the others to arrive, they watched people pass them by and chatted casually about classes and life in general.
“You know father wants us to come home this weekend,” Kojiro mentioned.
“Another girl then?” Kotaro asked.
“He won’t give up until he finds a girl we like,” Kojiro said. “It’s rather ironic, when you think about it. He waited how long before he finally settled down?”
“He needs to stop trying,” Kotaro commented. “I’m not interested in any of the girls and you rarely even look up from your studying to notice them.”
“I have class to worry about; there’s no time for fretting about girls,” Kojiro retorted coolly.
“Kotaro! Kojiro!” Wakaba called as she rushed over to them.
“Wakaba! What took you so long?” Kotaro grinned.
“Hajime pulled me aside when I was leaving class,” Wakaba explained. “He told me he wanted to eat alone today but I thought that sounded like a bad idea. If he goes off on his own and happens to bump into a girl, after all, he’ll transform and when I’m not there to do damage control, who knows what’ll happen.”
“Then where is he?” Kotaro blinked.
“Waiting for me in the stairwell. Sorry, we’re eating alone today,” Wakaba responded. “I promise I’ll make it up to you guys. See you later!” She bowed her head and turned to leave.
“Don’t do anything too inappropriate!” Kotaro called after her, laughing. As she disappeared from sight, his laugh subsided and he frowned slightly. “I’m losing, aren’t I?”
“I wasn’t aware it was a game,” Kojiro retorted.
“She’s going to choose Terazuma…” Kotaro sighed.
“Just tell her how you feel already,” Kojiro advised.
“I can’t…” Kotaro responded. “I’ve been keeping these feelings to myself for so long; I can’t let them out.”

“Hey, guys, sorry I’m late,” Keitaro walked up to his brothers.
“What’s the matter with you, Keitaro?” Kojiro asked.
“Got chewed out by my teacher for sleeping in class,” Keitaro admitted. “It’s why I’m so late. Hey, where are Wakaba and Terazuma?”
“Off on a date,” Kotaro responded.
“What’s got you so down?” Keitaro asked.
“Don’t mind him,” Kojiro insisted, handing some money over to Keitaro. “Now, be a good boy and run to the cafeteria for us?”
“Alright!” Keitaro grinned and took off down the hall.
“Remind me to tell him not to blast off like that next time,” Kojiro commented.

“I didn’t ask you to leave them to join me, you know,” Hajime insisted. He opened up his lunchbox but instead of reaching for his utensils, he reached for the old lighter stashed inside and pulled a cigarette from his pocket.
“I didn’t want to leave you alone. Besides, what if you transform?” Wakaba argued. “And don’t smoke.”
“I’m not going to transform – girls don’t usually come up to the rooftop for lunch,” Hajime retorted. “And if you don’t like me smoking, you don’t have to hang around me.” He started to try to get a flame out of the lighter but while he experienced several failures, Wakaba snatched the cigarette. “Hey!”
“Not now,” Wakaba said. “Put it away.”
“Fine,” Hajime heaved a sigh and put the lighter back.
“Thank you,” Wakaba smiled and picked up her lunch box.
