Duncan had a rough night last night. I wonder how He's doing...

Duncan couldn't get back to sleep after he woke up from his nightmare. He couldn't explain it, not even to himself. He knew that it was more than just a normal dream, but he didn't know exactly why. Who knows. Maybe it was destiny calling.
But none the less, Duncan stayed up for the rest of the night thinking about it, occasionally dozing off to rest his eyes. And when he was deep in thought in the middle of the night, he had come to a decision.
Finally, morning came. He had dozed off again when the morning sunlight peeked through the slits in his blinds.
When the sun hit his closed eyes, he grumbled, then remembered the decision he had made that night. At that, he woke with a start and quickly got dressed.
He quickly threw on some jeans and a black t-shirt. He scooped up a blob of hair gel and stiffened his mohawk as he walked out the door.
He quickly made his way down the stairs, wiping the excess hair gel off on the back of his jeans.
He spotted his Dad, quietly sipping some coffee and reading the newspaper. Apparently, Duncan's Mom ans sister were still asleep. His Dad was always the first one up.
His Dad looked up from his paper and saw him standing there, "Duncan, what are you doing up so early. You look...tired. Have a rough night last night, son?"
"Uh, actually yeah. You see, I had a really...weird dream last night."
"I see." said Duncan's Dad, removing his reading glasses, "What happened in this dream of yours?"
"Well," said Duncan, sitting down in one of the kitchen chairs, "Me and Courtney were back at camp and all of a sudden, this really bad looking dude came along and took Courtney away from me. When I tried to go after her, I couldn't move. And, I know it sounds corny, but I think it means something."
"Well, what do you think it means?"
"I think it means that I have to Courtney and make sure she's okay."
Duncan's Dad was quiet for a moment, then he said, "Do you know where to find Courtney?"
"Yeah. I think she said she lived somewhere in Malibu, Califor---" he stopped, "Wait a sec. Are you seriously saying I can go."
"I told you, son. I have more trust in you now. You have to buy your own ticket though, but you have my full consent."
Duncan was dumbfounded. He had only been back home for one day, and here his was saying that he was allowed to travel halfway across the country completely unsupervised?!?!
"Well?" said his Dad with a smile, "You better get going if you want to catch an early plane. I'll be sure to tell your Mom and sister you said good-bye for you."
"Uh, yeah. Thanks Dad." and with that, he headed upstairs, grabbed his bags, which were still barely unpacked, and headed out the door.
***************************************
It took Duncan an hour to drive to the airport, and another hour to find the ticket counter.
"Finally!" he exclaimed as he got in line to buy his ticket. He was a little grumpy. After all, he had woken up really early.
Duncan had not been in line for two minutes when he was shoved from behind by another person getting in line behind him.
"HEY! WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING!" Duncan yelled at him.
"Whoa! Sorry, dude. I sorta tripped on the slippery floor, dude."
Duncan recognized the voice, "Geoff? Is that you?" He turned around and, in fact, it was Geoff.
"Duncan? What the heck are YOU doing here?" said Geoff.
"Well, I thought I would go see Courtney in Malibu. What are you doing here?" He held out his fist.
"Oh, well a buddy of mine invited me to a party over in Malibu, but there was something about layover or whatever, so we had to land here and buy a ticket there. Huh, looks like we're gonna be on the same flight. dude!" He bumped Duncan's fist with his own.
"Sweet!"
"NEXT!" said the ticket clerk.
"Uh, yeah. Two tickets to Malibu please?" said Duncan as he handed the clerk his credit card.
"Dude, why are you buying my ticket?"
"Because I like rubbing my money in your face." the clerk handed the tickets to Duncan, "C'mon, I'll treat you to lunch and tell you my story."
"Hey, a free ticket and free food? Your my kinda guy, dude!"
"Hey, what's a killer bass for?"
"Totally, dude."

Looks like Duncan has met up with an old friend. But our story is not over yet. STAY TUNED FOR PART 8
