It was around 6:30 PM and Courtney was trying to find something to wear on her date.
"MOM? WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD WEAR?" She called.
Courtney's mother walked into the room. "Do you really want my opinion?" she said sceptically.
"Uhh,....no. Not really. Sorry."
Courtney's mother laughed, "Your really anxious about a date witha guy you've been broken up with all summer.
"Well, I just want things to go back to the way they used to be. Our relationship was a little bit of a blur, but I remember that I used to be so happy. He used to make me feel so special."
"Are you sure your not just talking about Duncan?"
Courtney's heart skipped a beat. "You...you saw that?"
"It was on T.V., dear everyone saw it."
"Heh heh. Yeah. Uh..., I---"
"Oh, don't worry about it, Courtney. Even though he has a few rough edges to buff out, I think he's a sweet young man."
"Well, it doesn't matter now anyway. Now that I'm back together with someone who won't forget about me, I can just get on with my life."
"Now hold on a minute." said her mother, "Why would Duncan forget about you?
"Well," said Courtney, "He has $100,000 and he doesn't need to keep in touch with me to occupy his time."
"Well, I wouldn't be so sure. You never know. He's probably thinking about you right now."
Suddenly, the phone started ringing. Courtney's mother left the room to answer it. Courtney started thinking to herself, "Maybe he hasn't forgotten about me. Oh, get a hold of your self Courtney! Why would he remember you when he's stinking rich?!?!? Besides, it would never work out. I'm an honor student and he's a criminal. We are from two COMPLETELY different worlds. And even so, I'm with Drake now. What's done is done."
After twenty minutes of looking, she finally settled on an outfit. It was a short-sleeved blue stripped top and a knee-length black skirt. She decided to stick with her gray high-heeled wedges, which were her favorite shoes. She went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. She decided to put on a little make-up, something she only did on occasion. She dabbed on a little blush, put on a layer of red lip-gloss, and decided to add a bit of mascara and some pink eye shadow while she was at it. Then she looked at her hair. She pulled it back and put it up in a bun, letting it out a bit to let some of the hair out, making a cool effect.
*DING DONG*
The doorbell rang right as she finished. As she ran past her room to go to the door, she stopped. She went in and nabbed the wooden skull that Duncan made for her and put it in her skirt pocket. She didn't really know why she did this, but for some reason, she really wanted to take it with her.
*DING DONG*
"Coming!" she called down. She ran down stairs and opened the door.
Drake was standing there with a bouquet of white roses.
"Oh, Drake! Their beautiful!" Drake handed the flowers to her. She took them and inhaled their sweet aroma., "I'll put these in some water and we can go, okay?"
"Sure, cookie. Take your time." he said.
Courtney giggled, it had been quite a while since Drake had called her that. It used to be his cute little pet name for her.
"So you ready for our date tonight?" she asked him.
"Absolutley! This will be one night to remember."
Will Courtney forget about Duncan? And what is Drake really up to? All these questions and more will be answered soon. PART 7 IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
