It was dark and quiet. Then again, these encounters are only quiet for moments before that eerie laugh pierces the air, as it did now.
“So glad that you could join us Batman, I’ve missed you, you know. I’ve been away so very long. You wouldn’t believe the changes I’ve made.” Dim yellow lights flashed on in the half blown apart ware house. At one end stood a cloaked figure dressed totally in black, in the center seated side by side at a huge round table, were three people, all dressed for oddity. One man, seated to the left wore a green vest and purple suit. His hair was a disturbing shade of green. He wore on his face, clown make up, a pale white face, two black eyes, and red face paint brushed up the side of his face making him look like he had just dug his face into bleeding flesh. And under his paint, you could see, quite clearly, sickening scars that ran half way through his cheeks.
On the right sat a younger looking woman, though you couldn’t be sure through her own paint, which was white faced, grey tear stains running from her black framed eyes and stopping at her nose or maybe dripping all the way down her long oval shaped face. Her mouth also covered in the same frightening red paint. Her hair was greasy like the man’s but parted in the middle. One half green, one half purple. Under the table you could see her dress that seemed to be purple and green as well and a neat stripe pattern reaching only to her knees revealing her very thin and pale legs.
Lastly between the two, in the center sat an adorable blond little girl. Her blue eyes shone like sapphires against her white and black face. Two black eyes and one little black nose was all. The man picked her up and moved her into the woman’s lap, tucking the girls white night gown around her a little more securely in the woman’s lap.
“What have we hear Joker? You’ve kidnapped a women and a child this time? I knew you were low, but not low enough to play dress up.” The so called “Batman” said as he smirked and drew a little closer.
The joker stood up then and introduced the people at the table. “I’d like you to meet each other, after all we’ll be spending so much time with you, I thought a proper introduction was in order.” Joker took the hand of the woman and helped her up while sliding his arm around the two. “Batman, this is my dearest wife, Jester. And our daughter Queeny.”
“Daddy…. Can we just kill him please? I’m so tired….I wanna go to bed…” Queeny moaned through a large yawn.
“Oh no dear…. I’m afraid We have to corrupt our friend a bit first…. Then we can kill him.” Jester said in a motherly tone that did not match well with her statement at all.
“Oh…. Mmkay… well hurry up already….” The girl managed to get that last sentence out before falling asleep in her mother’s arms.
