Shadow World Congratulations! As current owners of a new computer game the first of its kind in the virtual reality world you can enter a new world where anything is possible, including never logging off. You were accepted in a trial study of the game sitting in a sterile white room you caught merely glimpses of those that will also be stuck in the world with you. Having to stop it from reaching those in the outside. Each has their own reasons you must find a way of stopping the virus, the way is to beat the boss, the head boss. Due to a virus that was secretly placed in the game, your body remains outside as your soul is trapped in a world full of magic and danger as your character.

Samantha Hale tilted her head to the side looking over the test questions carefully, she stared at the paper on the clip bored. She needed the money, so here she was in a test room on a cold metal folding chair holding a clipboard and a cheep pen answering pointless questions. ‘Do you have heart problems? No.’ she answered in her head. She continued doing that hoping others would enter also.
She doodled on the edges of the test then raised an eyebrow as it started with personal questions. ‘This part is pointless.’ She glared at the helpless piece of paper in front of her, as if it was shouting rude things at her. She continued jotting down notes on the paper answering the questions and then drawing as she waited.

She propped her feet up on the empty metal chair her hair fell behind her and she grabbed a lock of it braiding it lazily in her fingers. She looked at the dulling effect the buzzing yellowish lights gave. “Like a friggen’ horror movie setting.” She mumbled to the slowly becoming braided piece of hair. She didn’t care that she was slowly draping herself over as many chairs as possible.
She sighed rolling her eyes and counting the ceiling tiles slowly She noticed there were many of the cardboard looking tiles on the ceiling. She watched the testers run around in white lab coats.

Roy was so excited that he was hand picked to test out this new game. As he walked into the building he was hit with a sense of euphoria. "This way sir." A man in a lab coat told him. Roy followed the man into a room with a girl lounging in some chairs and more people in lab coats running around. "Please fill out the form on any of the game immersion chairs." Roy sat as close to the girl as he could and started filling out the forms. "Hi, my name is Roy." He said with a smile to the girl.

Five minutes, and hour, two hours. How long was this going to take? the tall, firm built male had a hand on his knee as the other held the spin on a large novel, holding it open as his eyes scanned the pages. Reading the latest book in the library. The long grayish- silver hair was behind so it appeared as if he just had long bangs. After heaving a sigh Steven had moved his aqua eyes from the page and looked up, he had finished the charts and questions that were given to him such a long time ago. He was wondering if it was worth it now.
As the time had passed, he had found himself no longer alone in the room, a blond female had joined him in the room, and also a younger male who seemed to find himself more comfortable attempting in snugging up against the girl. Steven couldn't help but give a small chuckle which sounded very low, almost like a growl. Turning his eyes back to the page he was reading he had flipped the page and kept silent. There was nothing like silence, until one of the men had walked over to Steven to clarify the information he happen the sheets.

Roy noticed the man across from him and the girl he was sitting next to. "Well hello there." He said with a smile. Roy handed his finished paper work to one of the lab coat men. "My name's Roy, what's yours?"

Steven slowly moved his eyes from the book to look at the other beings in the room, the male, he was talking to him? that was a first. Not saying anything at first he had looked back down at his book and replied in a seemingly gentle tone "Steven" was all he had said, no nice to meet you or anything. He had just stated his name and went back to his book.

Roy missed the fact that Steven didn't want any part of him. "It's nice to meet you Steven." Roy held out his hand for a handshake.

Samantha looked up realizing she fell asleep with her eyes open, she had an odd habit of doing that, it mainly happened when she was in a math class. “I’m sorry I fell asleep on everyone.” She laughed nervously.
“I’m Samantha, call me whatever.” She shrugged tilting her head to the side examining the two males. She was still draped lazily over a few chairs; she smiled at them just not caring about what they thought.
“Any one finished the paperwork? I would like to walk with someone up there. I hate walking by myself!” She laughed happy to be around people.

Roy withdrew his hand to go talk to Samantha. "Hi Samantha I'm Roy and I would be glad to walk with you." Roy walk up to her. "This is so exciting isn't it." He smiled and held out his hand to shake Samantha's.

“Yah! Sorry if I interrupted you conversation, I switched to ignoring teachers mode.” She laughed nervously, and also reached out to shake his hand with one of her gloved one’s. She had a habit of picking at the fabric of them.
“Nice to meet you too! And thanks a million!” She kept a smile, and used her free hand to tuck the pen behind her left ear.

"Shall we?" Roy said as he took back his hand after the handshake. "So do you think this game is as good as all these people make it sound?" Roy had two objectives with this question. One to see if she thought it was going to be cool. And two to see if it sprang up any other game related conversation in which he could analyze her skill before they actually started playing.

“Sure, thanks again.” She said lazily standing up from her relaxed position on the chair, trying her hardest not to appear clumsy around the other gamers. “There is only one way to tell Roy, and that is to play.” She smirked and grabbed her clipboard firmly.
“And I intend to win this game. Think you can handle playing with little ‘ol me?” She said in a fake innocent voice. “Ah, don’t worry! I’m kidding about the last part, not the winning though I hate losing.” She smiled up at him.

Well he didn't really get an answer for either question that he wanted, but he didn't let it phase him. "I must say this will be the first time I'll be playing in a room made specially for a game." Roy smiled. "Have you ever done anything like this?"

She smiled at him then started walking slowly towards the lab test supervisors. She never answered things straight, she preferred letting her actions speak. “No, not really. I’m here to play and get paid. The winner of the trial run is supposed to earn a couple grand. And I’m just nervous because they were asking for medical history.”
“Sorry if I say anything wrong, I’m a little off on things. I lack social skills.” She let her smile turn into a nervous frown slowly. She knew that she was making a fool of herself in some way.
