Let's get to know each other a bit. Are there any nicknames you prefer to be called by? Tell us what interests you, where you're from, etc.
Please post your intro here instead of in a new thread to prevent cluttering.

You can call me Nom for convenience. My username may make it obvious to some of you that I'm currently studying economics. I'm 25 and also studied visual arts and music (piano) before.
I like to read books mostly on philosophy and psychology. On the philosophy front, it's mostly social philsophy and ethics for now. As for psychology, it's some of the older stuff like Freud, Lacan, Harry Sullivan Stack....
As one of the many VCs in this guild, expect me to be rather easygoing and seldom use my powers. I also have spurts of periods when I'm extremely active and periods when real life takes over for a few weeks. I'm all for people disagreeing with me and offering me shiny new points of view. Just be civil, thorough and rational. wink

Sweetness. 'Ello, I'm Jewl... ah... just call me Jewl. lol, anywho.. I'm also a VP too I guess, but meh. I was invited here mainly because I have my own thread in the extended topic forums and was kindly asked to participate in this guild. Which I am really thrilled to help out with.
I am currently in college, hopefull majoring in Psychology and interested in picking up an instrument for a hobby. Perhaps, the piano...but it is still undecided. I'm really easy going, although I am fully aware of how serious some of the topics we may touch upon here in this guild, it is like me to make light of some points. No, not make fun, just to find another, optomistic side of things.
My main good quality it to listen. I find that lecturing isn't my forte, unless somehow we came upon a subject I am skilled at...but usually that is rare...I enjoy meeting the different people and I think it is quite a unique oppurtunity to have someone trust enough in you to be confiding in you. Because, although someone always needs another person to hear them out, it is often hard to find the right person. I hope to get to know all the other moderator as well and I look forward to what this guild can offer... but for now I'll sign out. :] Nice to meet you all.

Hello. You can call me by pretty much whatever you wish. I prefer Devil's Advocate, but so long as I know that you are talking to me, I dont really mind if you come up with something else. And though I am captain, you neednt treat me any differently. I will not ban or demote you simply because we have conflicting views on things. I will ban or demote you if you insult, belittle, or otherwise bully any of the members of this guild, no matter the position I have put you in.
I like to read, fantasy and science fiction mostly, I enjoy using my computer, and I am quite an avid gamer. I play the piano, though not very well, sadly. I used to play trumpet and guitar, but I have lost all skill in both instruments.
I am currently in high school, junior year, and hope to attend Cornell after I graduate next year to get a degree in animal biology, then hopefully a masters in genetics.
I am easy going, but I do not take well to insults. so long as you dont yell at me, I wont yell at you. If you wish to prove me wrong, then please do so in a way that wont insult me, as you will make me angry, and I might well turn into the kind of persno I created this guild to avoid.
I enjoy talking about most scientific things, especialy genetics, and do not enjoy politics or religion, since I have heard, and been insulted by, both far too many times in my lifetime to want to deal with any mroe of either.
My best quality is my ability, so I am told, to make people feel better, feel wanted. Im not sure how I do it, but apparently I do.
Also, I write too much for my own good, and ramble on enough to annoy even myself. I shall end now, and release you all from the torment of reading my overly stretched post.

I've got a pocketful got a pocket full of sun sh!ne Ahola all! Tis muah the randomly spazztastic Do_u_kno_the_muffin_man!!! Actually I prefer Scarlet opal, Scarlet, Scar Or Rae. Rae is not my real name Rachel is, but I am mostly referenced to those nicknames. I am a very cool headed person when it comes to insults I shall simply say that if you attempt to insult me all I will say is, "Thank you have a nice day." Anywho I really love to rpg and read books and currently I'm writing a story I might post it up on my journal and if some of you peeps are interested you can go read it, I do like being complemented. I usually always have some lyrics from the song I'm currently listening to surrounding my txt so for the people who question they know now. I'm a student in high school and I aspire to be a pastry chef and open my own buisness then after a few years in that I want to go back to school and become a fashion designer and have a store where i sell spazzy, gothic, plus sized and other sized clothes for less than those expensive departmet stores ^.^ And I LOOOOVVVEEE cookies I've got a love that I know that is all mine ohh

I liked to be called whynaut. In real life I am a 22-year-old college student majoring in English. Normally, I like to just keep to myself or enjoy myself with my girlfriend and small group of close friends. But online, I am a far more flamboyant. Here, I consider myself a crusader for the postmodern condition for everything in life and unlife. I also have the annoying habit of always thinking that I am right when posting online, but that is only because in RL I never do sweatdrop .
I enjoy scifi, postmodern philosophy, religion (in the academic sense), comedy, and a (surprisingly) growing admiration for Shakespeare.
But most importantly, my love of stories pervades everything I do. Whether it is fictional stories, or the stories weaved in arguments, or most importantly the lives we live which evaporate into nothing but stories themselves.

Hey ya'll. My name's JoSlifer, Slifer, Jo, or, if you're really bored, John Wayne. I'm really deep into religion. Being a Priest of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can do that to a guy. I'm a 17-year-old senior in high school taking both Chemistry and Physics, which everyone told me was a bad idea. I'm beginning to agree, although it's very exciting learning about light and gravity and such.
This looks like a good place to put a new paragraph. Um, yeah I really like girls. Girls take up 33 to 66 percent of my waking thoughts, depending upon the situation. I'm like Addy in that I can make people feel happier/better just by being there. It's kind of cool. That's how I've made a couple of my girl friends, honestly.
Mm, anyway, I sense you're bored with me, so I'll stop introducing me now and move on to more important things, like work and strings!

Hi. I'm Rilian. One L. I believe that you can get to know me better by reading my posts than by listening to me attempt to explain myself.
I was invited here by NomNomNominal.

I was invited here by nomnomnominal, as my handle may tell you I'm somewhat of a Comic Book Geek. I'm also Christian but in that aspect I'm told I have a unique perspective in this regard. Unlike many others I don't look for the bad in other people. I try my best to show others my faith by example and not try to shove it in thier faces. I practice tolerance in most every thing.

My name is Alecia, sarm-online is a work in progress to become a non profit organization. SARM=Social Activist Resource Mobilization. I am a 'heavily' modified mother of two girls (Lily Vega and Serenity Mara), I stopped working as a body piercer to stay home with them and plan on homeschooling them-more so than I do currently. We have a reptile rescue (not organize-it will be part of the above mentioned SARM) that includes 5 ball pythons-two bought, 6 corn snakes-1 bought, 2 bearded dragons, 4 hermit crabs-all bought, not a reptile but still and 1 cat I saved from the SPCA. We would be called wiccans in a very non strict term, and have friends over to play poker ever weekend. Husband is an electrician who is also heavily modified. I also sell avon. Philosophy, history, religion, science, fantasy, art, politics, cooking, recycle/composting-these are a few of my favorite things lol
.....I think that's it.... HI!

I'm Lethargic Robot. I came up with that name because I looked up sleepy in the thesaurus. You may also call me A.J., my real life nickname. I'm pretty sure nobody is going to try to track me down and rape me. I'm 18 years old and learning automated programing, although I really want to join the Marine Corps.
I have a broad spectrum of interests. Just to name the big ones: I love physics and chemistry, as well as interesting and new technology. I enjoy reading science fiction, military thrillers, horror, and the under appreciated art of short stories. I enjoy writing stories or just recording my take on various subjects.
I'm laid back, keeping calm when others may not.

Hello, I am ArchWarrior, but you can just call me Arch for short. Like my name states I'm a top class fighter, I've been training to fight for as about as long as I could walk. I fought in all types of wars both of the mind and body, and even a few of the soul. Even thought I'm a warrior I'm really more of an Jack-of-all-trades, so I do a bit of everything because I hate being limited. By my nature I'm really an laid back and easy going person, so I often act lazy and dumb to hide my skills from others. I learned at an early age that if people know you are smart and able to do a lot of things, that they'll always come to you for help but really they're hopping that you'll do it for them rather then doing it themselves. I'm mostly an neutral person who sees the good and evil in all things that all times.
I only have a few goals life. 1) Do the thing I was born to do (for now I'm keeping that to myself). 2) Learn as much as I can. 3) Pass on as much knowledge as I can. 4) When everything is all said and done with, that I did more positive things than negative things. And 5) Go back home.

Hey guys! I'm Aeriell... yeah, it's really my real name. I like it and I was feeling too lazy to come up with something else. Anyway- I'm 24 years old and a proud culinary degree holder. Cooking is my passion, plain and simple, but I deeply enjoy many other things as well! I'm a self-professed bibliophile, I enjoy discovering new music, watching anime, watching movies, and many other various things that escape me at the moment. Hah! Some introduction..
I would say one of my best qualities would have to be that I keep such an open mind about just about anything. I guess that's probably a product brought on largely by my parents' rather liberal parenting tactics. They're awesome and I owe them big time. heart heart
Sooo... that's a bit about me, for better or for worse. I look forward to some nice, intelligent discussions!

Hi everyone! Disregard my username and just call me Lia (it's my real name). I found this guild on Devils_Advocate's signature; what really caught my attention was the part about the lack of intelligent conversation in ED. I'm a senior in high school and I'm either going to Boston University, Northeastern, Marymount Manhattan College, Emerson, or UNC next year. I live in NC right now and I want to get out, the only problem with getting out is that it's expensive. I'm not sure what I want to do with my life but I really love psychology, specifically abnormal psychology. It's the most interesting thing in the world to me; I could honestly sit and read the DSM for hours (and definitely have). I'm also very artistic and really enjoy set design (right now I'm designing a set for Waiting for Godot), acting, and singing. While I love psych, singing is my passion. As far as my personality goes, um, all of my friends think that I'm crazy but in the best way possible. I don't know how much you'll get of that online though, because my said craziness is mostly my ungodly amount of energy that should never be confined to any one person.
