Well, well, well we've reached election 2008 and we are absolutely screwed. We have black vs. white and all the racism in America is going to explode so hold onto your hats boys and girls because we're in for the long and bumpy ride to Hell ^.^

Im too young, only sixteen, to vote here, anyway. I dont like either of the choices. Obama is a little too liberal for me (Human cloning? Big no no for me) and McCain seems to much like a warmonger. Our vp candidates arent too wonderful either. A yea man or an idiot. WHoo-hoo.

lol. Canadian here. I find myself siding more towards Obama though, simply for the fact that in case McCain dies, I have major fears about Pallin's competence.

Well I although I'm not old enough either to vote I do want McCain to win, he has had more experience than Obama
he is less likely to get shot.
He is against abortion
and he's not trying to steal from the wealth and give to the needy. (robin hood redone political style lol)
but if you keep taking from the rich and taking thinking there are not going to be consequences then your out of your mind!!!
There are people who choose not to be insured and what not because they can't afford it.
And the people who do choose to get up and out there and work and earn their insurance would be pissed because obama is trying to get it to where everyone pays for the same amount.
Not everyone has the same medical needs as others do.
For example there are people that have cancer that need more insurance vs. the people that are only need insurance to help pay for little things like antibiotics and what not. So why should we pay for more coverage that we don't need?

Oooooh, rookie mistake, rookie mistake.

There are many people who CANT work enough to get insurance. My grandfather is one of them. HE has diabetes, bad enough that he can barely walk, but he cant get insurance because he doesnt have a job. But, neither can he get welfare, so my family has to hlep support him.

Also, antibiotics can save mroe lives than chemotherapy. The elading cause of death in the early 1900s was, you gessed it, strep throat, a now easily managable illness, all because of anti-biotics. Problem here is, without them, you can, and will die. The step will travel from your throat to your lungs, you stomach, your liver, and in those unlucky enough, your heart. Bronchitis. Easily managed by anti-biotics, but can be incredibly deadly in elderly and young children. Though it doesnt count as an anti-biotic, something that most people would equate on your list, asthma medications. Without my albeuterol, I might have died three times in my life. I had massive asthma attacks, to the point where I was turning blue, and the albeuterol held them of just long enough for the paramedics to come and keep me stable.

So, a lot of simple things like the medications we take for granted are actually two or three times more important than chemotherapy and the like.

I know but my mother, father and grand father all have diabetes and i wouldn't be surprised if i wind up with it too. But my mother has to have insurance for the 400 dollar insulin she needs to stay alive. WE actually have to pay for some of it out of our pocket because my family won't support us. but that's also not the point I'm trying to state.
that's all fine and informational what you said earlier, but that's not what i was getting at what i'm trying to say is that things like chemotherapy or a hospital stay for something like a heart attack (both of my parents survived two heart attacks) would need more coverage vs. someone who just needs a prescription filled and needs some of it payed by the insurance. so why pay more for it?
I understand what your saying, but just read what I'm saying.

WEll, I know what youre trying to say, but there are some plain old subscriptions that can save mroe lives than either of the things you mentioned. Actually, strep throat and asthma are two very good examples. Like I said, without treatment, strep throat WILL kill you, or at least so says every study Ive ever seen. That simple little perscription that you need filled WILL save you life, compared to what would happen if you didnt get it filled. As for asthma, I have to take my albeuterol every day before gym, otherwise I have an asthma atack. I forgot to take it one day, and had to be sent home so I could go to the doctors. That day almost turned into the trip to the hospital that you mentioned.

But, I also want to make it clear that not all thing are like this.

The guy getting his perscription for extra strength tylenol filled can go away. I need my asthma meds before he needs that, since a headache likely wont kill you. My asthma can.

The guy who wants to get his sleeping pills refilled can wait, since they guy with strep throat could die if he doesnt get his meds.

The guy who wants his male enhancements made perscription can get a p***s pump. The child with bronchitis standing behind him could die because of the fluid that could build up in his lungs.

Go Obama. I gotta agree, the guy is to liberal but even if McCain didn't get shot and he was president he would die from being to old. And, I rather have Obama up there then Palin. If Obama did get shot, he would have his VP who's white. *sigh* Either way, this election is so racist I could almost laugh.

lol, and reading the lil' debate earlier I have to agree with the idea that the little things would count more than the chemotherapy. If coverage was to solve those little things first it wouldn't have turned into a bigger problem like cancer. Although, I acknowledge that there is a variety in needs and its coverage, I believe the whole purpose of insurance for 'little things' came out of the need for the majority of the population. Since there are more people who need antibiotics, since there are so many people in the nation, than people who need severe care.

Neither candidate was liberal enough for me. But I voted for Obama anyway. I live in Texas, so I knew it was pointless. But Obama got 44% of the vote in Texas! It makes me feel like my vote wasn't so useless. And it gives me hope for the future. ...?

Eh, what's worse is when you have idiots try to discuss politics...
It's terrible when they don't know anything [both sides, I'm not just referring to Republicans] and they go off of what the media propagates or what their parents spew.

It's a sad world.
