That's how badly skewed my spine is twisted going into my skull. The chiropractor (specializes in Fibromaylgia, and why I went to them), asks about my birth. I knew nothing about it. Apparently, after going into labor, there was serious issues... something happened, I got stuck in the birth canal, they tried something else...ended up using forceps to force me out. My heart was stopping during this.
Afterward, apparently I have fluid in my lungs...etc.

Aside from.

I'm going 3 times a week to slowly correct how badly my spine is messed up, along with taking nutrients to try to fix fibro. The survey I took had ... odd... things... they were so specific.

So. I may be getting "cured", here, soon. Soon, I mean something along the lines of months to a couple years.

So. Hows your spine? Believe in Chiropractors? Find a solution to something that's been bugging/bothering you for years? Anything of the likes? ;P

I'm about the size of a small giant and have been having a horrible posture forever. One summer I was working at the distribution centre of Bijenkorf and every day when I got home my back was hurting horribly. It only got worse and eventually I had pain 24/7. I quit my job and started looking for a job that didn't require me carrying s**t around all day. I went to the doctor and to a chiropractor, the doctor adviced me to take enough pain killers to get through the day, the chiropractor agreed with this, started working on my back and explained to me that various muscles were extremely short and that I had to sit up right better.

After a month or two the chiropractor said that she couldn't do much more for me and that is was now up to me to fix my back. I tried to do this myself for a while, but my back kept hurting. On advice of my mother I went to a Cesar therapist. They are kinda like Physiotherapists, but they only focus on backs. She gave me a lot more excersises, explained to me thoroughly what was wrong with my back and how it got that far.

Now my back still hurts from time to time, but it's not as bad as it used to be and if I bother doing my excersises daily I could actually strengthen my back. But that would require me to go through more pain and that requires more willpower than I have at the moment.

Chiropractors can be ok, but there is a lot of quackery among them. See Quack Watch for details: http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/chiroeval.html

my back's decent and i TRY to have good posture (for a short a** like me, all the extra height i can wring out of my frame counts), but my husband has shitty posture. s**t-tee. like, me standing up all straight next to him, he's half a foot taller than me, we look almost the same height sometimes. the first time i saw him, i thought he had a hunchback. he works in a warehouse lifting s**t all day, and sometimes it hurts him. i think he ought to see a physio or some such thing to sort his back out, but he won't do it. it's going to get worse when he gets older, i know it.

There's no "cure" for fibro, and anybody who tells you different is selling something. You can cut the pain down, but it takes actual work on your part. No nutritional supplement bullshit. You need to do mild exercise regularly and get some painkillers to help you through especially bad days.

Chiropractors are a worthless lot in general, but even if they DO manage to fix something, the muscles of fibro patients tend to pull the bones back to the original position. If a chiropractor's work is going to take, you need a massotherapist, too. And there are tons of quacks in that profession, as well.

Now you have me paranoid about my neck again gonk
I used to crack my neck all the time (like knuckles), and it feels wonky sometimes.

Slightly related note: my member of parliament (uhh, local elected government person?) is a chiropractor and she's a total fake who I hate surprised

This is why it was in quotation marks. I am also seeing someone else that is helping me out of good of their heart alone. I have been given, for free, a few things that will help with my fibro. No selling things, no charge, nada. She wants me to get a qualified masseuse therapy going on as well.

If I can operate at 100% most of the time, I will be happy.

Well, I find it amusing that he did use a machine to find thermal/electrical disturbances, and then took xrays...
And the xrays did show how screwy those specific vertebrae are. Not only that, but one in particular was just beginning to deposit calcium.

I really, really don't enjoy the idea of them eventually fusing. There's a bad history of it in my family.

I only went to this practitioner on word of mouth, good faith, all that.

From what I've gathered in my experience, I wouldn't call this guy a quack. (Said article said to more or less dismiss anyone using a machine. "A good chiropractor who specializes in the care of neuromusculoskeletal problems does not use instruments and machines to diagnose and treat subluxations.")

Thanks for the forewarning. However, in the same regard, I'm willing to bet many of those same doctors/whatever also contain many skeptics of Fibro in the first place. Maow.
