This is a typical crypt, done in High Gothic architecture, all flying buttress and vaulted ceilings with bas-relief decorations done in tasteful black marble. The vampires coffins are on a raised dais, with polished obsidian contrasting white limestone, a chess board layed out before the coffins, one of them on the black kings square. Outside, it appears to be a forgotten cathedral's outbuilding, the marble worn with the passing of ages, even as the inside appears timeless and untouched by the passing of eons. The cathedral that overshadowed it has fallen, devastated by years of terror at the thought of spending time around the cursed crypt.

In his coffin, the lord stirred. He smelled fresh spilled blood. He was weak from his years of imprisonment in the crypt, sealed by the life of the bishop who had been the last priest of the ruined cathedral. He pushed open the coffin, the marble lid heavy to him for the first time in more ages than humans had records of. He was free, and his children would share his feast.
