Hey guys!
God has been constantly moving in my life, and put it on my heart to give you guys a bit of a message on some things that we think and feel about the gospel. This might be a hard read, so I appoligize, but sometimes things need to be said, even if its not to our own convience.
As Christians, we sometimes have misconceptions and take what the Gospel says the wrong way. One way I commonly see, and want to point out specifically is putting faith in faith, rather than Faith in God. Many people have gotten the idea over the years that your a Christian if you "pray the prayer." but that is not exactly true. Yes, it opens the door to your heart, but ya know, once you open a door, you kinda have to walk though it. And then take another step, then another, that way your gettin somewhere. But if you just pray the prayer and just stand there, and live your own way, where are you going? No where right? So, here is the difference from putting faith in faith and putting Faith in God, those people who just pray the prayer and live their own way are putting their faith in that prayer to save them. Those who put their faith in God, go out, and live the "Christian" life. By this, I mean, you are Christ-Like. You might be thinking, well, Jesus Christ was perfect, and I'm not, so because God forgives then I'm covered....well...not so much. Just because we're human, doesn't mean thats an excuse for us to sin. We have to try with EVERYTHIGN we've got to live like Christ. Jesus says: Matthew10:32 “Whoever, then, acknowledges me before people, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 10:33 But whoever denies me before people, I will deny him also before my Father in heaven"
Being a Christian is not suppose to be easy sailing. Jesus says that we are suppose tot expect persecution. Its going to happen, if your a christian, you can't avoid it. Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the way is spacious that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 7:14 But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it." This means that the path we walk on is less travelled, mostly because it is more difficult. The world based view is "go on easy street, its the way, lie, cheat, steal. Its easy" DON'T FALL FOR IT! Thats Satans way of tricking you. If you put your faith in Jesus Christ and pick up your cross and follow him, not denying him infront of your friends, family, strangers. Ask him to come into your life, and live it out (btw you can tell if someone is a Christian by the way they live their life, fruits of hte spirit.)
Galatians 5:16 "But I say, live by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.5:17 For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the Spirit, and the Spirit has desires that are opposed to the flesh, for these are in opposition to each other, so that you cannot do what you want. 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, depravity, 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, factions, 5:21 envying, murder, drunkenness, carousing, and similar things. I am warning you, as I had warned you before: Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God!
5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 5:23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh46 with its passions and desires. 5:25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit. 5:26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, being jealous of one another.
I know this was a tough message guys, but Some people may have needed to hear it. God loves you, Jesus loved you enough to die for you, and I love you too, feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Nothing evil comes from God. He is holy, and pure. And He calls us to be holy, too. You need to understand that. It's not a matter of 'trying harder' it's a matter of doing. By saying you are 'trying' you're leaving room for mistakes to be brushed under the rug. Don't do that.
Hate your sins, because He does, take them to God.
