Well, the subforum was empty, so I thought I'd provide something.
After the economic collapse, the skyrocketing crime rates made most of the 'civilized' world nearly uninhabitable unless you had a very large stick. Most people chose to either leave - most for Africa, because their infrastructure was the least damaged - or join gangs.
If you're here, it's because you stayed. You stayed in the dirty cities where the only jobs guaranteed from week to week were those of enforcers, and your gang was what kept you from being robbed blind and left dead in an alley for the rats. You stayed on the off chance that those scientists still with funding would finish that colonization flight for the moon and need test subjects, that the new hydroponics system will provide enough food to drive the prices down, that the new water filtration system will stop you from getting sick again. On the off chance that the scientists will have a breakthrough that makes the United States anything other than a pit where the sewer rats were the only ones with any quality of life.

Rules: 1) No God Moding. That just makes it suck for everyone. 2) Follow the TOS. 3) Be literate. Perfect spelling is not required, but try to have some semblance of proper English. If you have to ask what 'semblance' means, this is not the RP for you. 4) Try to keep in the world. That means no super powers, no jet packs, no elves. 5) Keep up. Try to pay attention to what's happening in the RP around you. If the city blows up, you're not going out for groceries.

The World This is the Midwest, until further notice. But a scary, barren Midwest. After the fuel rioters burned the corn fields and salted them, it was a bit hard to grow corn for either fuel or food. Food is expensive; fresh food hideously so. Almost everyone is poor. Everyone but the intelligentsia, the scientists everyone thinks will get us out of this. They're rich. And the gangs do their best to keep them that way. Everyone wants the scientists happy. Everyone walks. Fuel is impossible to get, so cars aren't useful as anything other than temporary housing.

Username: phantomkitsune Name: Alan Carezzi Age: 26 Gender: Male Class: Plebe Physical description: Medium height, with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Fairly unnoticeable, except for the knotted scars on his knuckles and the twitchy way he carries himself.

((Too bad. Sure you don't want to give it a try?))
Alan carefully replaced the sheet of corrugated iron over his door, and checked to make sure the building looked the same. Security for the whole building was based on how much it looked like an uninterrupted cube. He had a job today, guarding transports between buildings in the research district. God damned scientists paying the starving masses to protect their hydroponic systems from the starving masses. But it paid, so he went.
