Camlan sat still against a tree in the Courtyard. There was mention of strange creatures, perhaps zombies being sighted in the Temple. He did not know what zombies wre but they sounded pretty dangerous.

Everyone had been shouting questions at the masters and the boy who had discovered the monsters. Shaking his head, he held his blocks and the silver ball out in front of him. Using the Force, he began an intricate dance with the objects.

"No one seems too worried. I wonder if this is a test and we are supposed to be preparing?" He asked outloud, not paying attention to see if anyone were passing by or listening in.

Zombie? What in the Hutt's name was that supposed to be? So it ate brains and mauled people (hugging, mauling, same thing) but that didn't tell the Dug what she was dealing with here. Not to mention there wasn't even a word for it in Huttese! As far as Sepakna was concerned, anything that didn't have a Huttese equivalent didn't exist, or at the very least was not worth caring about. She refused to have to call something by its Basic name. She might stoop so low as to speak Dug – which was for hooligans who didn't get themselves a proper job on Tatooine – but she was never going to use a language spoken by humans. It was demeaning.

Still grumbling under her breath, the Dug made her way across the courtyard, C-7 trotting along behind her. The droid seemed quite flustered about the whole zombie thing, though he was keeping his comments to himself. Sepakna was still touchy about what she called his "incompetence." How was he supposed to know what this strange word was in Huttese? He'd never even heard of it himself! The droid nearly bumped into his master when she stopped abruptly, turning her orange eyes on the seated Camlan.

"If it was a test, you would have failed for sitting around doing nothing," The Dug grunted, and C-7 instead asked, "Do you really think it's a test? Thank the maker, I don't want to have my circuits eaten by some creature!"

Jiri Yim was doing her best not to worry about the Zombies. So it ate brains and inflicted horrible amounts of pain? She had relatives who did that. It didn't sound like a big deal, no worse than getting invited over for dinner at her aunts... Just to be safe, though, she kept her lightsaber at ready and her awareness sharp as she made her way through the courtyard.

There were beings up ahead, presences she vaguely recognized from around the temple. She could hear voices, and the conversation became clearer as she approached. One was speaking a different language, not Basic or Yuuzhan Vong, but the tizowyrm translated it well enough.

"If it was a test," she declared as she rounded a bend in the path, "Rie'kus wouldn't have been the first to know."

Camlan didn't understand what the Knight, Sepakna was saying but he did hear her droid talking about getting eaten. And then Jiri Yim rounded the corner and answered his question. Shivering a little, he looked up at them both with big golden eyes.

"I guess with so many Force users around here, those zombies won't even have a chance. There is no way I'm going to let them touch me or eat me or even nibble on me!" His rusted red fur bristled at the thought of becoming something's prey.

Sepakna leaned back on her hands to get a better look at the strange humanoid that had joined them. A quick onceover told the Dug all she needed to know. It was close enough to a human; therefore it was as good as a human. It – she assumed it was a she – was also taller than her, and thus deserved an especially nasty glare. Folding her toes together in much the same way a human would fold their hands, she raised an eyebrow at Jiri.

”Well then why don’t you ask him, if you’re so smart.” She paused to stroke the beaded tails that hung from her face, her tone as demeaning as ever. C-7 rattled off as a direct translation as he could, trying not to make her sound as nasty as she really was. He would probably get a kick for it later, but his shins had been repaired so many times he hardly noticed the dents. The times when he didn't have the dents were more surprising than the times he did.

At the strange furry thing’s comment, Sepakna snorted. ”Maybe the Jedi will try and reason with them.” The Dug sneered, and then spat on the ground at the mention of the Jedi. ”It’s not like they have any brains to eat.” Her translator droid hesitated, before he said carefully, “She says perhaps the Jedi will be able to reason with them. So long as they don’t come over here I’ll be perfectly happen to ignore them.” There was an audible squeak as he turned his head to look around them.

The dark patches beneath Jiri's eyes tensed in frustration - Yuuzhan Vong was a language spoken with the entire face - and she sighed. The tizowyrm in her ear was translating whatever language it was the Dug was speaking, and her statements quite clearly did not match the Droid's. Its software had to be flawed. She'd been living in the civilized galaxy for years now and she never got over the inherent distrust of mechanicals.

"With all due respect," she replied in shaky Huttese that the tizowyrm told her, "I can understand everything you're saying."

((sorry... Been caught up with things... And my computer is acting weird.))

Camlan watched as Jiri and the stranger spoke back and forth. The droid was translating but somehow he got the idea that was not what the stranger was saying. Best to stay out of it then, he decided.

"So what do we do? Should we go find the zombies or just wait here? I sorta want to go see what a "zombie" looks like..." Camlan trailed off for a second. "I just don't want to go by myself."

Orange eyes blinked up at Jiri for a moment, before the Dug laughed. The Huttese was weak, but it was understandable. However, it was far too polite to suggest that Jiri had grown up speaking Huttese to her friends or actually using it in every day conversation. It sounded more like diplomatic Huttese. The thought was incredibly amusing. "That's fine, human. The less the droid has to translate the better." It was always better when someone could understand her insults. C-7 always changed them to make things more polite. Dugs were never polite. The droid should just stop trying.

At Camlan's words, Sepakna hummed thoughtfully. Beside her, C-7 tried not to fidget nervously. He didn't want to see the zombies, but by the look on his master's face, it appeared they were going anyways. Life was hard as a droid. When the Dug started speaking again, C-7 dutifully translated for the sake of Camlan. "She says that it might be beneficial to go and take a look at them. We should be able to kill them if they get to close."

While all this was going on, Jiri sank deep into thought. Okay, so how had Rie'kus known they were zombies? Because they looked like zombies? She knew from galactic studies classes that reanimated corpses were a common theme across cultures, but even if Rie'kus had seen a zombie, how would he have known for sure that they were zombies?

There were three possibilities here: They were a species that looked like zombies, they were a species that felt like zombies, or they were actual zombies. Barring the third option as highly unlikely, she settled on the idea that, Rie'kus, being both precocious and force-sensitive, had tried probing the supposed "zombies" out of curiosity.

And finding them to be absent, had decided their appearance was in fact Zombie-esque.

Furry boy wanted to know what zombies looked like.

"Oh, probably like me," she said. "Give or take a few dozen tattoos."

Which still didn't explain what a bunch of Yuuzhan Vong were doing at the temples.

Camlan gave the droid a funny look and then looked at the Dug and at Jiri. Standing up, he smoothed out his apprentice's robes and took a deep breath. He honestly didn't think that there were any dead bodies just walking around... His people tended to burn their dead to send them back.

And the Temples didn't have a cemetery, did they? So maybe, they were just funny looking other people. He was funny looking... He was fuzzy and red. Trying to sound brave, he faced the two older girls and spoke up. "Wanna go see if they really are zombies?"
