The Story and Other Basic Information

It is modern day Scotland in all of its glamor. Wicchehaven, a home of the MacLeod Clan on the mainland, is located in the Highlands not far from Dunegaven, the official capital keep of Clan MacLeod on the Isle of Skye.

Wicchehaven is known for its 'unnatural and otherworldly' effects on the tourists that often pass through. Tales of ghosts and demons often fill the air. The Wicche Stones, the tattered remains of a pagan temple, stand upon Wicchehaven lands.

Night filled the cloudy Scotland sky as Kitai wondered around in the dead of night. He wasn't to fond of walking out in the daytime, his tastes suited somewhat to a vampires except unlike most vampires he was able to wander about at any time he chose. He looked around, trying to find the sense that had brought him here in the first place. That familiar aura, one that haunted him, but in the same way excited him. He had not seen the face of his lost love in decades and still found it rather hard to believe she could still be alive after all these years. Then again whose to say it wasn't just kin? A deep greif seemed to pass over his features as he stood outside the castle of Wicchehaven. Kitai looked around, his golden colored eyes showed sign of a deep hate and an even deeper pain. He had no idea what had brought him here, but it couldn't of hurt to find out. He wandered the grounds thinking hard to himself, 'What has brought me to this place? A house of stone such as this..honestly what purpose do I have here? He thought to himself as he looked up at a few of the castles stone windows, maybe he should climb up and take a look around inside? He never was fond of doors.

(( hows that? :3 ))

Aislinn awoke from the twisting void to shoot up straight in her bedchamber, a strangled scream ripping from her throat. The moment her eyes opened she felt a sensation akin to a weak electric current radiate through her muscles as her white knuckle grip on her bed sheets nearly shredded the poor cloth. She scanned the room frantically then sighed heavily in relief once she realized that she was indeed home. With an exasperated sigh she tossed the sheets off her and swung her legs over the edge of the bed, hoping that the coolness of the stones below would ease her anxiety.

She had had that same dream again. What was it now?....Two weeks since it had first appeared to her. She placed her sweaty face in her hands with a groan. It was always the same. A familiar woman strapped to a stake, screaming at her for aid. The feel of the rope and the scent of smoke had seemed so real. Even the bite of the flames had seemed to singe her skin! She scrubbed her face heartily.

Something is missing.....I know it.

Feeling unequal to the task of sleeping once again, Aislinn hopped in the shower, determined to rinse away the stress that had been mounting within her and to drown the dream from her mind. Dressing in her usual jeans and tank top, she would make her way through the castle while making sure that she buried her strange brand beneath her arm cuff, braiding her hair as she went. Once out on the steps, she would take a deep breath of the crisp night air.

Kitai looked up at the castle that lay before him, he had seen some larger and some brighter then this one. He jumped up high, reaching the ledge of one of the many stone windows and then bound from it onto another. Having to someone force his way into it he groaned when he hit the floor. He looked around inside, he felt it stronger as he seemed to get closer. Why so far from home? He wondered to himself he made his way around the building slightly. He had no idea how to look around this place, ripping threw it sounded much nicer to him. He fixed his jacket slightly, a cold chill swept over him, a desire long forgotten that gave him that same chill. He turned around, his heart pounded as he looked behind him. Had he been here before? A sigh of grief escaped him as he long awaited to see what aura had dragged him here.

"A painter creates what he is.." He whispered to himself as he eyed a piece of work that hung on the wall before him. He stared at it before looking away, the hallways felt like they'd never end as he continued his walk around the castle at so late a night. He heard footsteps heading in an off direction and he frowned finding them to leave where he once stood. He turned around and looked at the stories below him as he looked out another stone window and jumped from it. Stone broke under him as he landed with grace on his feet. He looked around nad found himself being lured to the courtyard.

"Hush, Brega." Aislinn purred softly to the large stallion that shuffled before her.

In the shadow of the stables, Aislinn could see her mount's anxiety as the black horse moved about the stall, making it difficult to finish strapping the saddle to him. She would grab his nuzzle and whisper to him gently, holding his nose against her body as she caressed his neck. It took some doing, but the large horse soon stilled.

"Good Brega." She murmured soothingly to him as she moved to finish strapping the saddle beneath his belly. "Nothing is here to harm ya. It is just me taking you on our nightly ride."

In truth her mounts' nervousness would be echoed in her own body. Aislinn struggled to keep the memory of her dream at bay in order to hold on to the few wits she still possessed. She would take his brief moment of peace as an opportunity to grab her small satchel from its hook beside the stall and throw it over her shoulder. Slowly she would escort him out of the rustic stables and tie him to a hitching post. Unaware of anything amiss, Aislinn would don her jacket and zip it up fully in order to ward off the chill in the air.

"You ready to go to the Stones, Brega?" She asked the shifting steed softly as she took the reins in hand.

Kitai looked around at the area before him, he turned around lightly to gaze in the direction the aura had engaged his senses to. Moving just a short distance in a short time Kitai found himself outside a stable, he stood there looking at it hearing hushed words. Followed by the lightly sounds of a stallion. Kitai looked at the stable slightly as he made his way up to it. The pounding of his heart grew quicker and heavier. Having no consideration to whom he may give a heart attack to he made his way inside and looked at the many horses that were there. some caught his interest but what had really caught his interest was the small framed individual saddling up one of the horses. Acting as if on instinct he moved his hand towards a lantern and it shot to life in an instant, as did a few others that hung on some poles in the stables.

"My lady?" He asked lightly looking in her direction, a long filled hurt in his eyes as he stood there looking in Aislinn's direction, he didn't speak after that. After all, it had been thousands of years, maybe he was mistaken?

The sudden combustion of the lanterns in the stable made Aislinn jolt in surprise. Gripping to the saddle for support from her shuddering knees, she leaned her forehead against the saddle while she struggled to draw in breaths between her heart's pounding beats. What was this feeling that filled her? It was as if her senses had suddenly been cloaked in a dark blanket that threatened to suffocate her soul.

It seemed so ......familiar.

Then the voice spoke and she felt every bodily function in her poor frame cease to fill with ice. That voice! I should know that voice, but how? she asked herself. Where from? However she was not able to contemplate the matter further.

Brega flew into a maddening rage, rearing back angrily. Eyes wide and ears flat against his head, the stallion began to thrash about the stall in a blind frenzy. Aislinn shrieked unconsciously as the slippery reins were ripped from her hands to lash about above her wildly. Brega had never acted thusly to so little provocation before! Hooves began to fly wildly about the stall and Aislinn somehow managed to dodge the flurry of steel shoes. Her hands met the leather reins and Aislinn yanked down hard, pulling the stallion to all fours once again. Once all hooves were safely planted on the earth once again, she laid her head against his heaving neck and whispered soothingly to the beast while her hand trailed down his neck.

She took a moment to calm her mount as well as calm her own shaking soul. When she felt she could do so without falling over, Aislinn looked to her new visitor curiously. The incredibly handsome young man seemed sad and, surprisingly, she felt a form of sorrow seep into her. A physic sensation washed over her as if she had walked into a wall of deja vu.

"S-Sorry about that." She finally said apologetically, stroking Brega's neck. "He has never done that before. May I help you, Mister...." She would leave her words hanging, hoping for him to fill in the blank.

Kitai just looked from her to the horse and then back at her. He didn't move from where he stood and imply nodded to what she said. FRom what he could recall she looked so different then what he last rememebered, before he got sealed away by the Irish man who sold that amulet he was sealed in to the scottish king. That was a horrible day, and a horrible later day...But now what was he to think? Who stood before him was in fact her but at the same time was it really? He sighed heavily when she could not recall his name.

"You once knew my name.." He said with deep sorrow looking at her, but seeing as how he had to refresh her memory, in a quick movement he had her in an embrace, holding her closely to him, "On long nights I used to hold you...and on cold nights I used to keep you warm.." He whispered to her lightly. Even if she fought again him his hold was light but strong. He meant her no harm. "The only thing you ever had to do to set free the flame I have burning so deeply within me was say my name.." He said to her, "Kitai.." He said lightly to her, "So long it's been...and yet..you cannot remember me..when I've remembered you..your scent...your aura for over thousands of years.."

Aislinn could sense the stranger's sorrow as he stared at her, she herself filling with the same emotion just by looking into his dark eyes. Her hand clasped her amulet instinctively, the one object that connected her with her past, in hope that she could draw strength from its cool surface. Her heart was drumming in her ears and she strangely could only hear her own labored breathing.

Her body thrummed with the odd energy that she had begun to associate with her deja vu-like dreams. Everything seemed so familiar, but yet she could recall nothing but pain and darkness in her mind. Stuffing her hands into her jacket pockets to hide their trembling, Aislinn drew in a ragged breath and closed her eyes for a moment. Her body seemed to spark to life as if it remembered something her tired brain could not.

Then the newcomer did the unthinkable.

She would gasp instinctively as his arms wrapped around her to crush her against him. Her body went rigid in shock within his embrace.Oh dear! This is not good! she screamed in her mind. While every alarm went off in her mind, Aislinn found it hard to struggle against him for his hold was much stronger than she expected. Oddly enough her arms only wanted to go around him while her body seemed to crave just to be near this strange man; However her mind was lost amidst her struggles and she felt her arms go limp against his chest.

Kitai........

The very mention of the name sent the ominously cool chills that usually proceeded her odd dreams down her spine, causing her back to arch slightly. Her gaze stared off into the distance as the darkness of the vision enclosed her mind.

A series of images flashed before her so quickly that she barely had enough time to register them in her mind. A flash of light burnt her spiritual eyes. The flash of a dagger in the blackness. A woman being held in a man's arms, dressed in what looked like medieval garb.

When she finally was able to drag herself from the midst of her reverie, Aislinn would react to Kitai's sudden closeness by wiggling from his grasp. She stumbled to a bail of hay and sat heavily upon it, swiping the sweat that had begun to form on her brow. Her heart was pounding in her ears as she struggled to bring in gulps of air.

"I-I think you should go..." She gasped, clutching at her pendant.

Kitai looked at her when she forced herself away from him, all she'd have to do was ask adn he would of let her go. She didn't have to fall backwards as she had and possibly hurt herself. Kitai wasn't one to do something against her will, he would never do something against her will. "If it's what you wish my lady I will leave...all I ask in return is for you to tell me something." He asked her lightly, before turning around, "If you no longer wished to see me anymore why didn't you just tell me? I know you cannot remember...but why so long ago did you not want to tell me about what it was that kept you anxious so long ago...why was it you did not want to tell me about my child that you let those people kill.." He wondered sadly but said nothing more and went to walk away.

Ever since that day so long ago he had felt its presence and he knew that long ago she had in a way carried his child but let those people take it from her...what they did with it he had no idea for he was sealed away long before. Not once was he able to hold it, and not once was he able to even see it. He sighed at his loss and just walked away, hands in his pockets. 'I'll leave you alone...you don't have to answer me....but please...if you need me..just say my name.." He said to her walking off into the night and he burst into flame. The fire diminished and he was gone. The lanterns in the stables went out and there was nothing but darkness along with the horses.

Kitai reemerged away from the stable and looked back at it with deep sorrow, he shook his head and decided to stay back and just watch from afar, if she needed him he'd be there.

"I'm sorry...but I don't remember...." She whispered from beneath the wall that was her hands.

Her head laid heavily in her palms while her head throbbed. Everything sounded as if she had heard it before, but she could not place where. She could barely think through the screaming pain that seemed to grow each time she tried to recall what Kitai had spoken of. Tears began to bubble in her eyes. Whether it was from the pain or the loss of her memories. It was the pain, she decided suddenly.

Aislinn looked up at Kitai in surprise at his mention of a child. A child? Her? When he turned from her, she was up on her feet and reaching for him before she knew what she had intended. She retracted her hand hastily, unsure of what she had been trying to do. It had seemed...natural for some reason. Then he disappeared in a puff of flame.

She froze and clutched at the door of the stable for support. That had been the last thing she had expected to see! She stumbled to the spot where he had disappeared and looked around for some sort of mirror or trick.

It wasn't as if she didn't belief in the super natural. She was a MacLeod after all; her clan was supernatural itself! Ghost sightings and fae appearances had become the normal routine that she faced everyday. Once she had been officially adopted into the MacLeod Clan, she had been named the clan witch for her healing abilities. She had never seen a man combust into flame!

Wait! Hadn't he said her had known her? She clutched her pendant once again as the realization struck her. He knew her! What would keep him from sharing what he knew of her. but where had he gone? Surely he would not just appear from the simple mention of his name. Suddenly she found herself contemplating the truth in that statement. He had just combusted into flame, so maybe he was another supernatural.

"Kitai...." She whispered softly.

Kitai looked back at the stable he had just left. he had been running for awhile in the opposite direction of it but the sound of the wind caught his attention. It mentioned his name. Looking back he sighed lightly, the flame that had engulfed him when he left engulfed him once more, and threw it he managed to reappear in the stable, standing tall behind Aislinn. "My lady?" He said to her lightly as he stood there. He saw she wasn't in any kind of danger and relief spread threw out his insides when he saw she wasn't hurt. He looked at her as he awaited for her to speak. He did notice the spot at which he stood and he smiled lightly to himself. "It's no trick..you won't find some silly contraption that could of partook in what I had just done.." He said looking at her intently, "For since you cannot recall what I am...allow me to refresh your memory.." He said standing there stood into her eyes. His dark yellow ones just seeming to bare into her blue ones, "Dont you remember?..." He asked sorrowfully at first before whispering lightly into her ears, "I'm a Demon..and the very fire that torments my soul...burns twice as much for you.." He whispered to her lightly as he stood there and placed an innocent kiss on her cheek.

He looked at her directly now, "Tell me though...why is it that you said my name?" He asked her lightly, as a breeze blew. He didn't feel the cold, nor had he ever, being a strong fire demon like his was to most regular people he always felt like he had a horribly fever. But to himself he felt cold, and the higher the temperature it was the cooler his body heat would regulate itself. He stood there though and continued to look at her as he had moments before.

Aislinn let out a soft squeak when Kitai's voice suddenly came from behind her, sending her whirling around to face him. She would back away a step out of instinct then let loose a shuddering sigh when he assured her that there was no trick that made him burst into flame. She feared that she would never look at fire the same way again! Her eyes would widen as his golden eyes bore into her soul, still clutching to the amulet as if it would protect her from some evil assault. How could she forget such eyes?

"A demon?" The words escaped her lips before she could fully use her voice, leaving the words nothing more than a soundless whisper.

Her cheeks blazed a furious red when he leaned foreword and pecked her cheek. He had an unnatural way with words and she was certain that that was going to be her undoing. Darn her mother for getting her into romance novels! The man - - demon - - before her was not only sinfully attractive, but exceedingly smooth. She wondered idly if he was actually a silver-tongued devil. She would be in trouble either way.

"A-Actually I wasn't sure if you would come, truth be told." She murmured, shoving her freely trembling hand into her jacket pocket. "Since you are here, I was wondering if you could tell me how you know me? How did you know my name?"

Kitai looked at her as he stood there just eying her over lightly. She did not trust his words when he fully gave it. Whenever she'd need him he'd be there in less then a heartbeat. He looked at her hand that clutched some object at the end of a chain. He shooed the thought away when she spoke to him. He listened to her words carefully but nodded all the same. "Yes..a Demon.." He said ot her lightly as he stood there looking at her. He looked at her facial expressions as if she was trying to figure him out in a way, but what was there to figure out about him? He was just simply Kitai. Your average, lovable, hot an fiery, over powerful demon. Otherwise why would he be sealed away like he had be so many years ago. Another soft breath escaped him lightly as he stood there before her.

"Not come? I give you my word my dear...whenever my service be needed I come with quick haste...just because I'm a demon doesn't mean im not loyal to my word. I'm not like some fiends form the netherworld that lie and deceive." He began before adding, "I swore to you that promise so many years ago and I've kept it to this day..so why go back on ancient words?" He asked her slightly. Kitai looked at her slightly when he had asked her about knowing her, "I've known you for more over a thousand years or better. For if I recall correctly the first time I saw you...I didn't know what to think, you were so kind and I wasn't." He said to her, before taking a light breath. "Back then you were Aislinn..a name sake...given to you by your great grandmother...I knew her as well..she didn't like me very much.." He said in hopes that maybe that random bit of knowledge would make her laugh. He always did like her laugh, it brought him joy when he was so sad.

Aislinn felt a chuckle bubble from within her. For some reason, when Kitai mentioned her great-grandmother, she envisioned a shriveled old woman hunched over a fire, tossing a large wooden spoon towards a dark figure. Then the pain that had split her skull nearly in two returned, causing her to groan pitifully. Shoving her pendent in her jacket, she held her head gingerly in her hands, afraid that if she did not then her head would roll off her shoulders.

She would begin to sway slightly. Aislinn slowly staggered over to a authentic looking rain barrel in an attempt to not make a fool of herself. The sensation of the sturdy barrel beneath her backside did little to relieve her monster headache. Her mind felt as if it had been rammed into a brick wall several hundred times, as if she was trying to remember something that didn't want to be remembered.

"Wait!" She gasped, cringing from the agony that rattled around in her brain. "Did you just say that you knew me over a thousand years ago? Now I know something is ." Clamping one eye closed in hopes that it would help the pain, she fixed her other on him as she rubbed her skull. "I hate to break it to you, but I was born in 1986 in Edinburgh. I think you have me confused with someone else."
