Ok from what I understand magic/sorcery is using a power that is not of God. So what ever magic one uses if its not from God, its bad news. God explicitly says that He doesn't want us doing that stuff. Now I can't say exactly where this power comes from if its not of God. So, it is reasonable to believe that Satan may be the source of all, if not at least most, of all "magic". As far as what old time people think of magic I can not say, I have not done enough research. Speaking with the dead and a lot of minor miracles come to mind though.

So that being the case, that magic is not from God, asking the question is it wrong? I would say yes. Is it safe? I would say no. Because if you are not drawing on Gods power, whose power are you drawing from? Satan? If that is the case do you really want to give Satan a chance to get in you? The line we should not cross as a Christian is we shouldn't desire to use magic to the point that we consider doing it, and we should not even try to do it. You are opening your self wide open for an attack, because its not God giving you that power, and God is the only one I'd trust with my life.

This subject can be really hard to think about in our current society. We have pretty much reasoned away magic and similar things. That is why atheism is so strong today. I'd have to do some more research to give us more solid evidence, but from the spirit of what I've learned this is what I believe true.

Well, it depends on whether their eyes are set on God or not. If they do not follow Christ then it is hard to really tell them that this is wrong. The only thing I can think about as far as what to say is this: When you tap in to any type of magic you allow another "spirit" into you. The question you have to ask yourself is do you trust this "spirit"? Do you really want to open yourself to something you don't even know?

That's when I you could mention, but I do know one spirit you can trust. That is the spirit of God. Then you could go into your personal testimony of how you met and learned to trust God.

I know how it is to try to reach family though. It is especially hard when the family member is resisting. In those cases you just have to be patient and be there for them when they need you, but at the same time try to give them opportunities to listen about your faith. I hope this helps.

Lets see. I have been here were I was doing 'magic' I didnt really understand any of it or what I was doing but one night i was doing a 'spell' and it did deal with fire because I was 'fire and earth type' and early in the day I was talking to God about and saying stuff like if this inst the path I'm saposta' be on and such the get me off it. So when it came to the second time I was doing this 'spell' and was playing the with fire just fire alarms went off. and I freaked and the fire went everywhere out of no where so I threw it out my window.... my home should have burnt down. my parents caught me and thought that i was just playing with fire and candles... also amused I was huffing I let them think that. I hid the spell sheet in my panties and felt like a fool like I had been tricked and robed I prayed to God all night crying and saying I was sorry for what I had done and that I was never going to do it again and I started paying for the one who had shown me all this and all the other who also were fallowing him and his brothers. I was so mad at him for kind of like tricking me in to that he knew I was Christan I felt as thought my love for him was now hate the one person who I thought I could ever get mad at I said I hated him and I didn't want to talk to him or see him!
Well It turned out he was fooled by one of his brothers as well he had not a clue that his was all bad and everything to me, so he and the rest of our group stopped...So truely praying to her talking to her about it but mostly leaving it to Christ is the best thing!! heart sorry that was a bit of a ramble

Its awesome getting an answer from God like that. Even if its during rough times like that. God has stopped me from doing a lot of bad things like that before. I'm all the more glad because of it.
