Yes. Lololo and Lalala. They appeared in the first Kirby game. They also appeared in Kirby Superstar and it's recent re-make. Not to mention the anime. We rarely mention these guys, possible because we rarely give them much thought.
But Lololo had his own game before Kirby did. Lalala made her appearence as the damsel in distress. (And she was yellow.) And drop one of the "Lo"s and "La"s. It was called the Adventures of Lolo. Perhaps they added the extra "Lo" and "La" to make them seem more like Dedede's lackeys, since Dedede himself had three sylables. But they are not Kirby characters, they are cameo appearences.
Apparently they date back to 1988. But Kirby himself didn't debut in his first game untill 1992. Making Lolo four years older than Kirby for those of you to lazy to do the math. *CoughcoughNaokocoughcough*

The Eggerland series sort of died off after 1990, so I would argue that the Kirby series has adopted the characters.

How did this suddenly pop up? I thought it was fairly common knowledge and I was the stupid one for not knowing until 2 years or so ago when I saw the game available on the VC and looked it up. Guess not....
What was the point again?

Well, I didn't know. You people are old, so you're exempt from old news. (I'm not sure Laury or Naoko knew though.)

Hey I am not that old! Like I said, I didn't even know about this till 2 years ago. I tend to dig pretty deep into the background of a lot of games and that is how I come across stuff like this. However, the amount of research I spend on games is nothing compared to most. So I felt silly for not knowing about these things sooner. Even if it happens before or when I was born...
Now one thing I did not know until now is that Lala used to be yellow.

I found this on Hal's official website; I've never heard anyone mention these games before. Internet or otherwise. You'd think this would be something that was posted at KRR as well, but durring the time that I was there, I haven't seen anything about it. Who'd you learn it from?

I told you, I was surfing the Wii Channel and I saw a game called, "The Adventures of Lolo." The game seemed to ring a strange bell to me so I looked it up. Lo and behold to my surprise it was the Lololo from Kirby.
I think KRR mentions it somewhere but I could be wrong....

I didn't. I don't dig into the backgrounds, really. Interesting though, I never would have guessed.

Now that I look at them they remind me of Pac-Man.

I was wondering when you were going to look at this topic, Laury.
Did you know? Or not?
Kirby kinda reminds me of Pac Man, too, being the sphere that eats things. But Kirby is the entertaining game. Pac Man gets to boring to quickly.
