(An area where Chikao used to live. Harujiro uses the area for training, but it is sometimes used by others.)

Harujiro walked into the clearing.
"Wonder what this umbrella does..."
An odd-looking wooden creature appeared before him.
"Who're you?" Harujiro asked.
"I'm Onibi Shitai! I'm your new spirit guide!" The thing said.
"My What?" Harujiro asked, incredulously.
"Spirit guide! Didn't the man at the shop tell you anything?"
Harujiro shook his head.
"Listen. Whenever you need my help, yell 'Hellfire!' And I'll be there."
A blue fox appeared, and said, "And if you need my help, shout 'Spirit fire!' and I shall heal you," in a feminine voice.
"And you are?" Harujiro asked the fox.
"I'm kitsunebi shitai." It replied.

Fuyusuke walked into the clearing.
"Hm. Seems that Harujiro was here, and there was..."
He gasped.
"Furugasa? The Demon told me that thing was sealed away years ago! I don't believe it!"
Furugasa was an umbrella of incredible power, but it came with a cost. Fuyusuke just hoped he wasn't too late.

"Care for an explanation, little brother?" Harujiro asked his rescuer.
"I'll explain later, but, give me the umbrella!" Fuyusuke shouted.
Harujiro sighed. "Fine." He handed over the umbrella.
"Can you help me out here, demon?" Fuyusuke said, to the ghost on his shoulder.
A man with fangs, black hair, a wand, and skulls on his knees appeared.
"For the last time, mortal, my name is Mephisto, and you shall refer to me as such."
"Who're you?" Harujiro asked the man.
Mephisto sighed.
"Good lord, humans are so uneducated these days. Ten centuries ago, man cowered in fear at the sound of my name! I am Mephisto, all-powerful demon! I lent some of my powers to your brother. The umbrella you carry is a powerful one, no doubt, but it can steal the souls of the weak. If you pass my test, you shall be prepared to fight the negative effects, and you will recieve a gift."
A dark shroud of Subspace Energy covered the two mortals, the demon, and the umbrella, and they disappeared.

Chikao wandered through his home.
"Dear Lord, so disorganized. I really should have Haru-chan clean this place up for me, after pushing me out of that arena."

Chikao heard Cyborg M, though he did not know the jet noises signified anything.
"Good day, Old Man," said Cyborg M, landing in front of Chikao.
"And you are?" Chikao asked, perplexed.
"I am M, and I'll be your executioner for today."
Chikao smiled under his mask.
"Somehow, I doubt that."
Chikao's sword multiplied, and began to surround M.
"Jouzan-ken. An outdated trick, but a fascinating one, nonetheless." Cyborg M shot all of them in less than a second.
"How did you--?"
"How did I what? Know the name of your sword style? Render aforementioned sword style useless?"
Cyborg M shot Chikao.
Chikao flew backward, and coughed up blood. He couldn't take his mask off. His unseen face was covered in blood when--
"Old Man!"
Harujiro saw his teacher on the ground, blood covering his black robe.
"You'll pay for this, M!"
"Noted, doubted."
M shot Fuyusuke in the chest.

As he was unconscious, Fuyusuke felt his mind drift, to a powerful and seemingly endless source.
My son... said a female voice, in an almost musical manner.
What? Fuyusuke was surprised than he wasn't hearing his voice, he was hearing... something else.
You have fought hard. However, it is not enough. Allow me to assist you.
A silver mist surrounded Fuyusuke, changing him and his power.
Your ties from Mephisto have been cut. Your power has been increased, and you have been awakened to your potential.[i/]
Thank you. But, who are you?
One who would help you in the battle to come.
Harujiro saw Fuyusuke's body glow, but instead of turning into a trophy, like Chikao's had, it changed colors.
"Little brother?" Harujiro asked, touching Fuyusuke's glowing form.
Suddenly, Harujiro's mind floated away.
My son, said a comforting feminine voice, You have fought bravely. Ho not be enough for the battle to come. Allow me to assist you.
Who are you?
I, said the voice, Am your mother. Go forward and make me proud.
A white mist covered Harujiro, and he began to change.
"What the--?" Cyborg M saw Harujiro and Fuyusuke, and was suddenly overwhelmed by a blinding light.
