"Think that it is very resposible of sony to make a recall less than a week before release, however. I do really want this game and it really sucks that we have to wait another week but, i guess sony was serious when they said they wanted everyone to enjoy this game...I tip my hat to sony but then I kick them in the shin for not finding the problem sooner"

I'm glad that Sony decided to fix the issue, I wouldn't want people of a certain religion to be insulted. I would like this game to come out, but I can do other things while I wait. It may not be the most fun, but it's the right thing to do.
sweatdrop Kind of wish they hadn't put it in there in the first place.
Edit: The reason I'm saying this is it's supposed to be an E game... I know I personally wouldn't have been insulted if I was Muslim, but I guess some people were insulted.

In all seriousness? I could care less that passages from the Qur'an were in the game. It's a game, and it is hurting no one by listening to the lyrics.

But yes, I am saddened that it was delayed, but on the other side, if Media Molecule or Sony were to be sued because of the passages, it is a good thing they are changing it.

Agreed.

I wish Sony would have taken a survey instead. It wouldn't have taken long and it'd be super short:

Do you care/are you offended that lyrics to a song has words from the Qur'an?

[ ] Yes.
[x] No.

They email me about HDTV surveys, but nothing terribly useful. :/

i dont realy think it about wherther the masses are offended more at the fact that sometihng like that shouldnt be in a childrens game giving it a bad rep.

the want lbp to be enjoyed by everyone not seen as promoting anti american hate.

It pisses me off. I know its just a matter of removing those songs from the playlist and rewriting the game on more discs. But the game was suppose to come out in 3 days and now I have to wait 9 more days. Well at least it will fall on a Monday so I'll have all day to play instead of going to college.

Children would never even know it was in there. It isn't identifiable unless you speak the language. The only way children would have ever known it was in there would be if they were told and then told what it meant.

The lines translated are, "Every soul shall taste of death" and "All that's well on Earth shall perish," or, basically, to that effect.

It's not stated in the Koran itself, but there are sects of believers who would find singing words of the Koran offensive.

Some Muslims have been against the decision to recall the game and have called it censorship. Here's an article about it: Source.

I think this whole situation is a joke. Not because of religion or anything like that. But because of the way it's unfolding. One Muslim gets offended and wants the content removed, a Muslim group claims Sony is censoring them and their ideas by removing the content. Can't win eh?

I don't care much though, I got a copy of the game today do the delay means nothing to me at this point.

Yeah, they couldn't recall every single disc so you've got an unaltered one.

They were working on a Day 0 patch originally, but went with the recall. The patch still exists, and there's only one song for the safari levels that contains 30 seconds of the lyrics.

Here is the section of song.
