you don't have to ash if you don't want. And GiGi, technically for nano you should be starting anew with no writing, but its accepted that although some frown upon it as long as you don't include prior work in your word count and are honest that you started early if asked, it is okay.

neutral But I DO wanna join. I've had this great idea I've been playing with but I've never really been motivated enough to actually WRITE it. And I'm 15 so do I do the young writer's thingymagigger? 0_o;

Ash- if you want to be held accountable for the 50,000 words sign up for the regular NaNo site, if you would prefer to set up your own word count goal, sign up for the young writers site, at least that is how I see it.

Gigi- That should be fine then. Just don't count the 800 words in your word count. Some people would suggest maybe rewriting that 800 words too in a different way so you have another chunk of writing for editing later on that you could add or replace with. It is totally up to you though. There are those on the website who are a huge stickler for the rule, and there are some who just tell you to not count the excess portion.

So it's the second, I hope everyone's word count is doing alright. Take all the time you can this weekend to write as much as you can, seeing as during the week you might not have the time to write as much.

ARG! My word count widget isn't working, I posted my word count at over 2000 words yesterday. Oh well.....
