Okay, so it was my first year at Fair this year. I was signed up for Ride-A-Buck. (You ride bareback with a dollar on ur leg) and so, when I found out it was Bareback, I scratched (my mom had been working the scratch thing so I was fine. smile But then, I went back in and went to the practice arena. All my friends were there riding bareback too. I was only afraid to do it cause I had only loped bareback ONCE, and it was very close to a fall off. I hung on for dear life. So, I was actually able to lope around bareback for awhile. SO, I got in the class. We were coming around, and they told us to lope. We did, and my horse Cha gets a little faster around turns, and I forgot. I was so focused on keeping the dollar on that I started to slip off. I pushed in with my right leg; spurs on, and she ran off. I slipped off the right side, turned around, and landed on my back. Luckly, I had a helmet. I blacked out for a little bit thou. All in all, in the end, I broke my tailbone.

That night, I had Poles, and BOY did it hurt!!!!! The last class of Fair was Down&Back, and like, I forgot the stabing pain and ran it, and ALMOST placed. It was hard to get off thou. smile

Lol, that was funny ^_^ Way to get back on though.

I've come off a lot , due to bucking and rareing, mainly because ill ride other friends and ppl horses because they are trying to sell them and like the idea of posting pictures with a 13 yr old on, but also a lot of my own, because we have had several horses through the farm. Which taking me off has never been easy, I'll last longer then most of the guys i know that have horses that are in their 20's and have been in experience with horses their lifetime. But my first was probably when i was around 5, I had this horse named Casper, he was white and about 14hh. I was riding him in the woods field as we call it and i was on the total end when a deer or something spooked him, he just started booking it, i was like oh crap and just pretty much layed down and grabbed his mane, he took off in a beeline for the barn, and did a sort of crowhop/buck and got me off ^^
I was back on the next day.
I've had a lot of fall-offs since then..

Don't be afraid to ride bareback, I actually encourage it, it helps you find the rythm of your horse, and once you do you could be upside down and not come off razz Maybe it's not that helpful but it does improve balance a lot. And here, if im riding around the farm I almost never put a saddle on him, it helps us get a feel for eachother and how we move than if there is a saddle between us.

Lol the dollar ride you had to do reminded me of my fair, we have to balance a egg on a spoon going at a minimum trot and increasing until the last person with an egg.

Lol, I haven't fallen off yet. But it will come sooner or later. I had a few encounters with kissin it! xD Like when I went to get on my horse took off and came to a abrupt stop and I clung on for dear life. I slipped off one time while doing a around the world. I ride bareback at times, I post, up when the leg on the rail goes up and just keep the beat. Up with the leg on the rail! ^_^ I have been riding since I was six years old and I'm thirteen now and I haven't fallen yet. xD

It was my 14th birthday and I'd gone out to my aunts to ride. The horse my aunt tacked up to ride hadn't been ridden in a long time. Note that this is my first time to actually have full control of the horse. Anyways, I got up on her took the reins in my hand and gave her the command to walk. (I was riding in a pasture, not for long though.) Something happen causing her to go into a canter and me being new to riding didn't know what to do so I dropped the reins. And in the end I was whacked off by a tree branch. I didn't remember falling off or hitting the ground. My glasses were thrown off and my nose was all bloody. I've learned a lot since then. XD

lol I've fallen off my TB lots of times. XD Mostly bareback, so you're not the only one. xp You're not a true rider if you've never fallen off. The most important thing is getting back on.

hell if i remember the 1st time i fell off or how many times ^^
i ride since i'm 6 and i'm 23 now, so it's been a very long time. i think the mast time was like 2 or 3 years ago though.
i like to ride bareback, it's funny and gives you better sensations, you can feel all your horse's movements biggrin but as i don't have my own hhorse, i don't have many occasions do do that.

the first time I fell off was when this pony, star pony, spooked at something. another time i was riding a spunky morgan named morgan and the saddle slipped and I fell.

I've almost fallen fallen out countless times but my new horse of my own, Baron, has been a life saver. Star saved me from falling off, so did Katie (a calm little sweetie-pie morgan mare) and doc and belmont and baron.

Ouch thats not good hannhah but I'm very glad you're allright and same goes for everyone in here that had a riding accident.

Anyway I thought at one time that I was going to have riding accident when I rode my Strawberry Roan Overo Paint Gelding Roany, the weather was sunny and perfect until a little wind showed up and Roany must of spooked a little when he heard the winds.
I thought he was going to rear or buck me off so I pat him softly on the neck while calming him down and after that he did great for me which I'm glad since he's a pretty big horse and I'm only a Beginner Rider but I'm condifent enough to ride him which is good.^^

Lol, I hate it when they fall.. mine have done it a few, twice going up this particular hill which appearently has some loose dirt, and about halfway up, he lost footing, and bent his legs under his body, but with the shoulder and upper leg up like _|.. We slid down the hill, I was trying to stay calm so he wouldnt freak out and hurt himself, we got down the hill okay, and i jumped off looking him over making sure he was okay, sure enough he was fine, i got back on and rode the rest of the way back, the particular horse was Buddy, which i dont have now, and my current horse, Darth also did it but got back on his feet mid slope.

I've fell off a few times, each progressively worse lol!

I've been riding since i was about 8, and i fell off when i was about 10 and that was on a steep hill when the trail ride stopped suddenly. I slid straight over the horses head!!!

The second was when my horse refused a jump when i was 11, which i think might have been my fault since i wouldnt let him get the speed to jump.

The third, and most recent, was when i was twelve (im 13) and we were jumping about 80cm or so, and the ex-racehorse i was riding sped right up, then stopped and i went head first into the jump.

The weird thing is it didnt even hurt, i was kinda just dazed coz i was suddenly on the ground! biggrin
