The idea here is to get to know our guild members just a wee bit better. Hopefully not in a creepy way, which it could turn to quickly, but let me explain my theory:
I lurv mah internet friends. Some of them are people I know IRL and some (most) are people I only know because of the internet. Its kinda hard to treat and think of 'internet friends' the same as 'real friends' sometimes because you are not apart of their life in a way other then through a key board. For a lot of us that isn't really an issue. Not being able to physically hang out, go to each others houses, met family, met other friends, go to a movie- all the basic aspects of a 'real friendship' that do not apply to 'internet friendships' are not really roadblocks to a lot of people. It most certainly isn't to me.
On the other hand; my 'internet friends' are half of a whole picture for me. Because I don't have a clue about any of the physical aspects of their daily life, I have this bizarre way of how I "understand" my innerweb palz. They kinda just float around in my brain rather then being rooted in some kind of environment. I sound crazy, I am aware of this- but has my point been made? Gawd I hope so.
So: I am willing to share my daily haunts so people can have some kinda place to put me in their mind. I wanna home! I don't wanna float around in white brain space! crying
And I ask you to please share if you want a home too! There's a topic like this in one of my other guilds and it's surprisingly interesting/fun so I thought I'd give it a try 'round these parts.
Now, I post images with taking the position of trusting everyone within the guild not to stock me. Not that I worry, I'm pretty positive most of you are on the mainland so whatevers. If we grow bigger and more Hawaii state people join I might take down extremely 'position giving away' pictures. But other then that, I gather we are all adult enough to understand the point of this strange little exercise and not use our powers for evil (yes, even you villains). I debated even putting this little disclaimer up I trust people here so well, but you know. Just coverin' bases.

Ok, so I live in a very tiny studio apartment with my boyfriend Lee in Waikiki. So as to make people jealous: I literally live a minute from the beach. But don't get too jealous. Waikiki is a stupid, gross, beach; we usually drive or take the bus to other beaches. And we don't have a beautiful view or anything. I'll take pictures of our lanai tomorrow, I took these at night.
Anyway, yeah - super small place I live in.

This is pretty much it. This is the view from the doorway into our room. We've got a bathroom (which I didn't take a picture of, because it's a bathroom xp ) but we don't actually have a kitchen-kitchen.

The place came with a really nice fridge for whatever reason; but no stove top or oven, our cabinets and drawers are crap, and our sink is actually for the bathroom and thus is super small and seriously sucks for cleaning dishes. We have a hot plate and a toaster oven that work surprisingly well and we're rather fond of them. The hot plate is named Hitler and the oven is Stalin (the fridge is Lenin and the shower is Mussolini - their names just happened one day I swear).

This is our shoe/slipper/sweater area. Tupac watches over everything, keeps things in line. Our chabu-dai is leaning against Lenin (as are my awesome Walking Dead and Ex Machina framed posters that are too big to hang anywhere gonk ). We bust it out when we make big meals, but usually it just stays there, slowly slipping on our tile and falling in the middle of the night to scare the s**t outta me.

This is where I am now (hoora)! Books and comics are to the left, DVDs are on either side of the computer (who is named Mother, after the computer in Alien). And the annoying mirror that can't be moved because it's screwed into the wall, dead ahead. I hate that mirror.

Our TV, Xbox 360, and Wii are hidden in the right side of the closet. Because it has to be. We had no where to put it! And it might interest you to know our TV is named TV.

Above the TV is a mini-shrine to our various geekdoms (as though our place isn't enough of one as it is).
And that's my place of residence. ninja

Caitlin, your TV is friggin' awesome! Me wants eet. gonk
I also want your car. I didn't take a picture of mine but it's nothing special; a 1997 tan Toyota Carolla. It's name is Casket because every time I get in it someone tries to merge into me at one point or another.
Yes. I name everything. I don't know why.
And my aunt has the same (or nearly identical) tiles in her kitchen!

Oh God, don't get me on cleaning tile. All we have is tile, which is nice because to clean up all we do is sweep, plus we don't have the space to harbor a vacuum cleaner.
Bad side is we have to sweep up to 4 times a day if we want it to be perfectly clean (we're hairy people) and the tiles get these smudges on them that are near impossible to lift. And the grout! AHH the grout!
RANDOM: Water appears in the middle of the floor all the time. We call it the mystery puddle because we know it's not coming from the fridge, or the ceiling - it just appears over night in the middle of the room while we sleep. It makes NO SENSE at ALL. scream
But good thing we have tile; I don't want a mystery puddle with carpet, you know?

James Bucky Barnes Natalia: heart the harley quinn doll.
I should get some pics of my car, seeing as I pretty much live out of it. Haha! Thanks! I kinda collect Harley Quinn stuff in general, I've got like 6 action figures (Only three are in that picture - rest are on the Big Island in my family's storage with all my pre-college geek stuff), several posters and shirts and the like. I heart her.
Do you drive/comute a lot or are just never home?

King Blackagar Boltagon "My Shrine to geekness is so weak compared to the others cry " How so? Not that it matters! I shouldn't spend half the money I do on comic/sci-fi related stuff. I just can't help myself. I likes what I likes. gonk

The book surprised the hell out of me when I first read it (pre-release edition! <-bibliophile). I was 14, right at the target age, and it's a really racey book for 14 year olds. It's still racey, though I think it's because the book is more blunt than it intends.
The movie was hysterical, but featured Olivier Martinez in leather pants so I can't hate it. Even if some of the relationships were profoundly creepy because they were so totally different in the book.
