INTRODUCTION This is the first RP of the DL Guild. I shall be acting as a DM/GM sort of figure, handling enemy encounters, story, and NPC'S. I will also tell you when to roll a D20 for a saving throw or such things. I will also level you D&D Style
This may seem different from other RP threads you've seen, but hey, it's all in it's infancy with the new gaia dice simulator! But Keep in mind....As GM... I make the rules (in accordance with the rules in the rules thread.)
Narration and such will appear as normal text, NPC's will be in different colors. Dice roll commands will appear in centered italicized text
So without Further ado.... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Inn of Last Home, Nighttime, Winter. Solinari and Luniarti are crescents in the sky. There is a light snowfall as A young man performs in front of a large crowd. The crowd consists of a wide array of races from all over the continent of Ansalon.
The Man is playing a lute and singing a song about the great wars of the past and the lost heroes. He stops to a round of applause from the crowd.
"And now, Friends, Patrons, well wishers and...", he pauses as he turns and looks at a small group of kender, "and itemfinders," Slight chuckling all around the inn "I will now tell a tale of bravery, valor, sacrifice, and love. It begins not long ago in this very town...." "Just south of here is where we begin...."
{will continue once characters are submitted}

A young man, blonde hair, and eyes of a deep blue hue, walks towards a small villiage. The weather is fair, light snow falling. The man looks up to the silver moon of Solinari.
"Hmphh" he thinks. "All that preaching for a lousy meal and a room" He continues his journey toward the town of Haven on the continent of Ansalon. The weather begins to pick up... "Damn...should have stayed one more night." He continued on his journey for miles...Trying to beat the storm, but things were not going well for him. The farther he journeys the more the storm builds. he is now caught in a blizzard.
Struggling now, and fighting off Hypothermia, he finds a small hovel in the middle of a small clearing. He begins to stumble as he heads towards the door. He knocks. The door is opened by a robust man, with a large moustache and striped pants. "Great...I've stumbled into a travelling circus' headquarters" the blonde man thought to himself... Then he noticed as he looked around...He has found an inn.
He collapses from exhaustion.

An elf with an intellectual eye looks out of a window from her night's, inn's room. She was of a slender build with sharp, blue eyes. "Looks like this storm may last a while..." She turns from her place and looks around. After a few minutes, she stands up and reaches for the door. There are footsteps outside.
Slowly, she opens the door to see what's causing the rustle. A few people in aprons are huddled around a figure laying on the ground.
She sighs to herself. "There goes my quiet night's rest. I better not get involved..." She closes the door to her room and resumes her place by the window.

A small form wanders through the now fierce blizzard, somewhat lost. Having lost sight of the path, she continues to wander, pulling her worn cloak tighter about her and tucking her head down. "I just had to promise that guard I'd find this...Gensan..man in the next town? Oh, why did I bother when I knew a storm was picking up..." she muttered to herself, glancing at the wax sealed letter tucked in her belt.
She sighs, using her arm to shield her face from the icy daggers of wind. Spying a faint light in the distance she pushes on, having started to feel the numbing daze settling over her limbs. "Just a little farther now.." she whispered, hoping to make it to the possible sanctuary of an inn.
The sky darkening with the late hour of the night, a frightening, animalistic cry echoes from the forest around her. The young woman pauses, glancing around slowly with a frightened look and a chill running up her spine. 'I can't fight anything in this weather.. I can barely see anything as it is...' Taking her chances, she begins to run against the oncoming sleet, seeing the faint outline of a building now. The light she had seen had beckoned to her from a fairly frosted over window, and now, seeing it clearer, she only needed to make it a little further.
"Fair Mishakal, I may find safety this night after all." She murmurs a faint prayer, as she stumbles to reach for the latch on the door...
(I hope you guys can work with that. sweatdrop *tried to make it intresting* I'll change anythng if I need to. X3 *coughfirstattemptatrealrpingcough* ^^' )

((I think I'm having an off-night creativity-wise sweatdrop Please pardon me if what I've posted isn't all that great ^.^;; ))
Having just wandered away from the lute-player, Mags is, in all her curiosity, trying to see who the man on the floor is.
Tugging on someone's shirt sleeve she asks, "Why is that man lying on the floor?" Catching a glimpse of the man's hair colour, Mags continues to speak to the poor person.
"Oh my! He has blonde hair! I wonder if he's tried changing its colour.. That reminds me of the time my Uncle Itemfinder..."
The person quickly recovers their sleeves and shoos the Kender away.. Feeling slightly miffed, our little Itemquester wanders over to the door to peek outside. She has just begun to open the door when a mass of limbs and weathered cloak lands on top of her. ((OCC: by mass of weathered cloak and limbs I meant bluezjessi ^.^))
"Umph! Why hello there! What's your name? I'm Mags Itemquester!"

Barely noticing the people around him...the young blonde man lets out a hardly audible "Room...please..."

Befu sighs as she thinks of her past.. what brought her here. "Why is this still bothering me? He's gone. Done. Move on, Befu.. all this will accomplish is more heartache." She takes a deep breath and stands up once more. "I doubt I'll fall asleep right away.. I'll go take a walk."
Opening the door cautiously, seeing the bartender and a few hefty men carrying the figure down the hall, she slips out quickly and locks her door with the room key given to her. She stops at one of the guards. "I'm going out for a while. Make sure my room stays vacant." The guard gives a slight nod and she reaches for the door, only to have a small tug at her robes.
"What do you want?" Befu angrily glares at the child. Seeing the poor thing's horror in its eyes, she lightens up. Just as she was about to appologize the child ran away.
Shrugging it off, she puts her hood up and opens the door. The blistering cold surrounds her and pushes her hood from around her ears.
"I wouldn't go out there if I were you." A voice sounded from inside.

The small kender watched the blond man, who had collapsed on the doorstep of the inn, get carried into a room by a few men. She trailed after them, deciding that she'd help out. That and she'd found a coin purse that she was sure was his.
Featherlock brushed her topknot out of her faces as she stood out of sight, waiting for the men to leave so she could go in. She smoothed her blue tunic and held her pouches close. How long did it take to settle a man in?

"I wouldn't go out there if I were you." The young woman voiced somewhat softly, just loud enough for the slender elf's ears to pick up. She watched as the fair wanderer turned to face her in the eyes. A chill glare shot at her, and the cleric faltered slightly under the gaze.
"You have no right to tell me whether or not I-" The dark elf paused, her eyes narrowing. "Is that a kender..?" She glanced down somewhat after spotting the sleeping being, a traveler's cloak draped over her small frame. "Yes, it is. The poor dear helped me in after I found my way here. She has only just fallen asleep..." The cleric trailed off as she saw no change in the elf's demeanor, and tensed her voice slightly.
"Listen, the only reason why I would suggest your staying for the night is that on my way here, I wasn't only wandering through a storm. There -is- something out there, and it's most likely hunting-"
"I can easily take care of myself, if your dim human eyes could not tell." Glancing over at the guard, she motioned. "You keep a good eye on my door. I don't want any clever little kender accidently 'finding' their way in there."
The cleric sighed glancing down, attempting to rub some feeling back into her frozen limbs. Muttering a small prayer under her breath once again, her eyes passed over her possessions. For a fleeting moment, she had the oddest feeling something had gone missing. But she shook that thought away, knowing that she'd just make sure to ask Mags once she woke up, whether or not her kender hands had picked something up recently for 'safe keeping'.
(Now, I wonder what could have disappeared... ninja And where this will go. XD' I wrote some things as if a few moments had passed, considering 'the blonde' was taken to a room, and...sturf... >wo' I am too obvious with some things. sweatdrop But for one thing, I'm sorry if I constantly change tenses of story. Especially me sweatdrop )) Stirring slightly in her sleep, a soft, sleep-enthralled mutter can be heard coming from Mags. "What do you mean I stole your crest, guard!?! Why I never! With your manners, your mother must've been a gully dwarf! And to think I found it for you too!" After a few more minutes, Mags stirs again. Rubbing her eyes and brushing her topknot away from her face, she remembers where she fell asleep. "Hullo! My you have a comfortable lap! Did I ever tell you the time I had to sleep in a room full of gully dwarves? They kept telling stories of this "Aghar" fellow.. Or maybe his name was Bron? Bulp? Burp? Oh well... Too bad they couldn't remember how the story went.." As she continues her story, Mags pulls a curious item out of her pouches and begins to play with it. Soon she shows it to her new friend. "Could you tell me what this is? Did you lose it? Aren't you glad I found it for you?"

The cleric blinks herself awake slightly, having started to nod off, to find the kender holding up a letter inches from her face.
Startled, she nearly falls while trying to sit upright. Holding a hand to her head, she finally recalls what the sealed parchment was, and letting out a slight exclaimation, quickly takes it back. "Oh, thank Gods-" Realizing that it had slipped her mind, as well as her hold, she turns to thank her friend.
"Seems it slipped out when I covered you up there..." Laughs a bit and smiles weakly. "I am always loosing these sorts of things. Thank you for finding it for me." She smiles again, completely at a loss whether or not she had dropped it or if Mags had 'found it'.
"It seems upon our sudden meeting I was still too frozen for an introduction." She bows her head to the little kender with a warm smile. "My name is Kaelin. Kaelin Tsuyu."

Mags eyes light up at the sound of her new friend's name. Her curiosity about the letter still has not quelled. However, Mag's is currently more interested in the name of her cleric friend.
"Kaelin? That's a pretty name! Did I ever tell you tell you the story of how my Uncle ItemFinder got his name? It's actually not as obvious as you might think..."
Mags' story continues on. Soon her eyes linger to where the young blonde man's room is.
"Should we go see how the blonde man doing? I wonder if he's ever tried changing his hair colour.. Was his mother's hair blonde? What colour of hair did his father have?"

Not heeding the cleric's warning, she turned and ventured out into the biting cold. She wasn't planning on going far-just around the area to try to clear her mind.
What she was thinking when she made the decision was anyone's guess. The temperature was dropping at a rapid rate and when the winds would pick up, only a fool would be daring enough to take them on. Yet, she still trudged onward, making circles around the inn. 'This cold will remind me how thankful I am for a place to stay tonight...' she thought to herself.
*snap* She heard a faint crack in the distance only an elves delicate hearing would be able to distinguish. This made her turn on her heals and head back to the inn. 'What am I afraid of?' Still unable to make any sence as to why she was fleeing, Befu made quick time back to the inn's door.

Kaelin is pulled up from her seat by Mags, and grabbing her cloak proceeds to follow the entergetic kender, tucking the letter back into her belt. Taking one last glance at the inn door from which the elf had departed, she once again felt an odd stab of fear.
Despite the warm fire blazing in the hearth and the thick, enjoyable atmosphere the inn created, a chill still managed to creep its way up through her bones, just as it did when she was out in the forest. She could still picture the frostbitten trees creaking in the wind, and that soul-churning howl that echoed off the pines. But she had no time to ponder over such unnerving feelings, as she was pulled into a side room by her newfound friend.
(Sorry it's not too long, but I'm multitasking! XD'' *must go work on her homework* razz ninja )
